Makita quality. bought to replace my old worn out Bosch Jigsaw, already have several 18V LiOn batteries and Makita tools, this is a great Jigsaw. Pendulum settings for cutting metal, wood, rough/fast cut wood, plastics, always use the correct blade and speed, settings and it will last and cut fantastic. It comes with a few blades too of varying types, and a dust extraction attatchment. The slow start mode can be turned on or off by turning the speed controll from 1 to 6 then back again, the LED lights will flash twice to indicate it is in that mode. Some people are put off and don't like this jigsaw because of that, but don't realise it is overideable, it's not in the user manual for some reason. Performance is better than price would suggest, and good for a small/light driver. Great if you already have others so can use batteries. Fairly quiet compared to some, and vibration not too bad. Ideal for wheel nuts as torque is enough for what's needed (what I bought it for - to replace old Clarke one)

Makita DTD152Z 18v LXT Cordless Impact Driver Body Only

Excellent bit of kit. Probably overkill for occasional DIY use but very useful to have around none the less.I bought this as a body only having already purchased an 18v Makita combi drill. The battery from the drill is compatible with this impact driver so at under £60 it was a bargain. The impact driver was delivered well packaged in a Makita cardboard box along with the instruction manual. Build quality is what you would expect from Makita. So far it hasn't seen a great deal of use so I can't comment on its long term durability. As soon as it arrived, I did of course head to the shed and drive as many screws as I could find I to as many pieces of wood that I had laying around. I have since used it to spin off a few rusty bolts on the car as well so I have a feeling it'll be getting a lot of use for the jobs where the 1/2 drive impact wrench would he over kill.Great tool and great service.

Makita DTD152Z 18v LXT Cordless Impact Driver Body Only

Bought this impact driver as a DIY user currently building a timber framed garage. For years I have used a combi drill but it was not really up to the task and I took the plunge with the impact driver half way through. I have other tools on the Makita platform so decided to stick with the brand. I have been really impressed with the other Makita tools I have and was not disappointed by this either. As a DIY'er I went for the cheaper 152. As many others have said, I should have changed years ago. It is a lot quicker to use and drives screws and bolts home easier with less pressure required from the user. It does seem to drain the battery faster than the combi-drill (both brushless) but no major issue - it still does a good few hours' work. I have found that for the really delicate stuff it can be a bit too powerful but that is a minor point and I am mostly being lazy and not doing stuff by hand when I probably should. Overall, a really good buy and I would recommend to anyone. If most of what you do with your combi drill is putting in screws - get an impact driver.

As an avid user of Makita products, I already have the battery packs to operate this tool, so the bargain price from this excellent supplier made it an easy decision to buy. I was fed up with having to change from a drill bit to a screwdriver, and back again, so an impact driver was the answer. I am delighted with the product, which arrived the day after ordering. It is relatively lightweight and compact. The twin work lights make locating screw heads a breeze and the trigger operated variable speed provides excellent control when screwing into softer material, while the impact function makes light work of screwing into harder material. It is necessary to use a special impact driver bit, as standard ones are likely to shatter. Makita hits the mark, but with a few gripes
25 May 2021

Solid, well designed and easy to use but with some gripes. Carry case is awful quality and better not to bother than provide the cheapest blow moulded affair that proves difficult to ever close properly after first unpacking! Splinter guard is a PITA , doesn't stay in properly and is off centre. Dust collection spout is too small and flimsy and most won't bother using it as a result. Motor is excellent. It's the heart of any Makita tool and this doesn't disappoint. Smooth in use and the dust blower facility is a must as is the work-light. Barrel grip handle is comfortable and allows fine control. Part of me still wishes I'd bought the equivalent barrel bodied Bosch instead due to the compromises but then I remind myself that all my Makita tools are compromised in ... MoreSolid, well designed and easy to use but with some gripes. This would have been a 5 star review if they hadn't spoiled the ship for a hapence-worth of tar. It's also as good as any Festool in use so why would anyone spend three times the cost for a better carry case and brand name? It'll likely last as long too.

Powerful Jig
22 May 2019

I've had this jog saw for about a year. It cuts through wood fairly easy and quick. I found it eats through knots easier than other jigs I've used, and cuts a lot quicker. The barrel design is definitely much more comfortable and easier to handle in my opinion versus the traditional 'D' handle design, and I would never buy a 'D' handle jig ever again after using this one.The jig comes with a case and some blades. Changing blades is really easy too. Just a twist at the neck, and the blade falls right in. It holds tight without any sign of loosening from vibration. A good vacuum sucks up most of the dust, but all in all its a well built Makita Tool. The only thing I didn't like was the plastic clear guard it came with. Really nice jigsaw
25 December 2020

Coming straight from possibly the world's worst jigsaw so maybe I'm biased, but so far this has been fantastic. Solid and sturdy in the hand, cuts cleanly and quickly through 60mm tropical hardwoods.Orbital cutting can controlled with three different levels of eccentricity or turned off completely. It really helps cutting through thick bits of wood and even the greatest orbit produces a nice clean finish. It's easy to control the blade's angle using guide markings on the saw's body at 0 and 45 degrees.Overall would highly recommend to any DIYer upgrading from a lower quality tool.

Over the years I've always stayed away from named products like Makita, Dewalt and other big named tools due to the excess they charge for there products. I came across a Makita 18v drill some years ago and it was well used when I obtained it. A couple of new batteries later and I carried on using it in places I didn't really fancy using a power drill in the event that drill snagged and twisted the power drill out of my hand like if I'm up a ladder. That actual drill died it's death about 2yrs ago but not before I had the chance to buy another two cordless hammer/drill/screw driver units and then eventually a Makita jigsaw and circular saw. That actual drill died it's death about 2yrs ago but not before I had the chance to buy another two cordless hammer/drill/screw driver units and then eventually a Makita jigsaw and circular saw. I was so impressed with the old Makita drill/driver that I decided at that point to invest into future Makita gear for whatever job I required it to do. I've had/owned/used and killed cheaper power tools and I've come to the conclusion over the years that cheap tools, specially those that require power of some sort are cheap for a reason. They don't last or the product is updated in such a way that you cannot get parts for which means you have to throw it away and buy another cheap power tool. I've owned this Makita Jigsaw now for at least two years if not longer now. i did pay more than I would have liked to have done but even to this day and even tough it doesn't get used that much it's still like new. At the end of the day it's just a jigsaw and maybe to some people an over inflated priced jigsaw but to me it's a nicely priced jigsaw that if it breaks down at all I'm able to get it serviced at a Makita service centre or I've able to get hold of parts on the internet to do it myself. I love the Makita brand but I'm also warming to the Dewalt brand as well as I have some of there gear too. Would I recommend it? Yes without a doubt, but only if you want to spend that little extra for quality as appose to cheap. Is it good value? It was at the time I bought it. I would recommend shopping around either here on eBay as sellers will offer this item cheaper than other sellers. Is it good quality? The only thing I've needed to replace so far have been the blades.
