Use this for cutting privet hedge & tree back, had some right abuse, and works great. Worthy addition.

excellent little saw, usual makita qualityMakes light work of cutting screws or nails as well as boards of wood or plaster board. cut straight, cut around corners, cut things in half, worlds your oyster.Thick bits of wood, 2x4 or whatever, no problem, but that drains the battery pretty quickly. But what can you expect for a tiny 10.8 lipo? You cannae change the laws of physics. On the flip side if you're up a ladder trimming something, maybe your ornamental maple has got out of hand or something, this little chap can be worked one handed. Normally I'd say ladders and saws don't mix but this is an exception because of the size of it.Great tool.

We bought this saw for garden pruning and workshop use. It is light enough to be operated at arms length with one hand, using either the 'collapse' type underbody trigger or the pistol grip trigger without developing gorilla arm. It came with a wood saw and an 18 tpi metal saw both 100mm long. With the 100mm wood saw fitted it could can cut 2.5" diameter branches, though it is rated at 2" for timber. We had to buy a 4Ah battery which cost as much as the tool, and a basic charger thus losing the value and features scores a star each. Being Makita it should prove to be reliable, I hope. Register the tool within 30 days of purchase for an extra 2 years warranty. No extra warranty is available for the battery or charger. This variant is equipped with a very easy to use ... I have quite a few Makita products (including a full-size corded reciprocating saw which is great). When I needed to add a small reciprocating saw to my collection I didn't hesitate to buy based on the Makita name (plus I had batteries that would work with the saw). I bought the tool to cut some PVC pipe in between the floor joists and it worked well for this. When I tested it on some other projects (like notching out a 2x4) I was disappointed. The saw is woefully underpowered and the battery will drain quickly if asked to do any serious cutting. On the positive side it is very light, compact and easy to hold with one hand. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone except for very light duty jobs.
A handy saw that due to it's compact size, it can fit in where it's big brother can't. Another good point is that it has two triggers to suit different positions. It's lightweight and has surprising performance from a 10.8v battery
I bought this along with an impact driver, which gave me 2 x batteries and a charger (TDZ110DWAE) Easy to fit the blade to and easy to use. I've recently carried out some repairs to a railway station name board and it made cutting the outer section of wooden trim off very easy. Great piece of kit, lightweight and ideal for DIY use.
Very good useful small tool. I really like it. Already cut off sections of the ceiling and was very easy with this toy. Thanks to Makita.
This makita saw is really small and lightweight, even with the battery unit attached, which makes it fine to use off a ladder to prune trees (which is what I bought it for). It is easily the lightest reciprocating saw screwfix sell, but is still very powerful, cutting quite chunky branches with no trouble at all. This saw is going to be seeing quite a bit of use it's a pleasure to use; I wish I had bought one sooner!
This is a great little saw very surprised with the amount of power it has.Bought to cut some scrap wood and to cut some metal in the greenhouse. It works well on wood but I was surprised with how good it was when cutting through metal. Only bought this one as I already have other tool's in this range and I find that there all nice to use and find them to be good value.
It's perfect for what I need it to do..but of wrong comparability battery wise to other tools of same voltage. Which I was told that they were interchangeable.
