prompt delivery and item is as described. 1 thing i will say, it does not have torque settings but instead has a very long trigger pull making speed control extremely easy. which is actually quicker for use with screws requiring different torque use on same project. very satisfied, thanks.

I had forgotten how good corded power tools can be.Small ish and no battery and/or charger problems.I am going to buy another before they run out at the shops. Apparently Makita have stopped making them.

Bought this 3ish years ago and still going strong. Going from a standard drill to this the difference was unreal. Only downside is the cable length. 1 metre is just too short and makes putting anything above head height on the walls a pain as end up having to hook a reel of cable on the step ladder which is awkward at the best of times. I knew from a previous review this could be an issue but it's only after getting a chance to play with my builders cordless tools which he kindly left while on holidays I've realised just how much of a hassle that short cord is. No matter what the job more often then not I find myself lugging a cable reel around the house as well as the driver and screws. So decided once I've got a bit of spare cash that my next purchase will be a ... MoreBought this 3ish years ago and still going strong. The makita may still put in the odd appearance, but only when I'm out of charged batteries. Very much a beancounter move by Makita, quality of the tool itself is second to none but then someone who obviously never uses tools decided saving a few pennies per tool by shortening the cord would be a good idea. Very shortsighted

Bought for home DIY. I no longer work, but have been in the trades for 30+ years. I can understand that people need cordless out on site etc, but if you are static in a workshop, or at home you need to get this. It is brilliant. Perfectly sized, small enough to get anywhere needed, plenty of power that never stops! No reduction as battery wears down, no recharge, just power exactly where you need it, whenever you want it. Comes with a nice long cord which is very sturdy. I have been using this daily for a few weeks now and not once had any issues. Highly recommended.
I bought this from Axminster and the service was very good. You can't buy this tool in NZ (or anything like it) so I was very pleased that Axminster ship to NZ for a a reasonable price - I think. I got it delivered in about 5 days which is great as far as I am concerned. Very good communications and prompt quotes for postage etc.. The tool itself is of good quality apart from the front silver plastic section which is not made of the same quality plastic as the main body. (I think this is to copy the heavier versions which use alloy in that area.) The cable and plug are of good quality. The tool is light and I decided to move away from battery powered impact drivers since the cost to replace the battery systems is high and the 9 year old Lithium Ion stuff I have ... MoreI bought this from Axminster and the service was very good. The tool is light and I decided to move away from battery powered impact drivers since the cost to replace the battery systems is high and the 9 year old Lithium Ion stuff I have needs to be replaced. Would be good if Makita (or anyone) did something like this with a brush-less motor and possibly variable toque / self tapping setting i.e. some of the features of the battery operated models.
The driver is light and fits in the hand nicely. There are no torque settings or depth stops but you soon learn to control the tool with the speed control and time. It is noisy and I suppose the 101db in the specification gave a clue to that and I have shattered 2 Posidrive 3 bits so far so you need to buy good impact rated bits for it. No battery problems! very pleased.
I am currently plasterboarding a decent sized area of loft ceiling, a job I have done with a drill / screwdriver bit in the past. Give the weight of the drill, and the awkwardness of the area being boarded out, this job was becoming awkward.I therefore decided to buy this tool (deciding against cordless equivalents because I don't want to faff about charging batteries) and it arrived today. I have given it a fair bit of testing already, and so far I am very pleased with it. It seems to be able to put in pretty big screws without struggling or slipping, and it is very light and easy to use. The built in LED is a welcome feature. If I have to find any fault with it, it would have to be the lead length. A 2m lead length is not a serious problem, but it is not generous ... MoreI am currently plasterboarding a decent sized area of loft ceiling, a job I have done with a drill / screwdriver bit in the past. The built in LED is a welcome feature. If I have to find any fault with it, it would have to be the lead length. A 2m lead length is not a serious problem, but it is not generous like all the other Makita products I have had (apart from the BO4555 Palm Sander I criticised in another review). With a tool like this, a long lead is a real bonus, and I would have cheerfully paid an extra couple of pounds for another metre.Build quality appears to be spot on - the reason I have so many Makita tools - and from experience I expect to get many years of service out of it.Overall I am very pleased with this purchase. I would describe it as really good value for money (and it was not on offer when I bought it).
It does what it is supposed to and looks nice too, however, for serious users, it is not powerful enough. It will stop rotating on many occasions when the screw is a bit thicker than usual. Also reducing speed is difficult.
As an occasional power tool user, I got fed up with cordless power tools always having flat batteries and subsequently having a short battery life. I actively sought out this corded tool as a result. Does everything it should.
I recently bought the TD1010F, as I need to ply sheet a floor before having it tiled & my old drill/driver is getting a bit tired. I couldn't justify the cost of a cordless impact driver and as I don't work on site, 110v was unnecessary. I have not started the floor yet, but have used it for many other jobs...It is just brilliant! It is light & compact, with a handy job-light . Supplied with a couple of metres of flexible cord. Obviously I cannot comment on the reliability yet, but with a 3 year warranty, this shouldn't be a problem.
