Malibu Watermelon Rum 700ml

Malibu Rum Original is hands down my favorite rum. It’s full of flavor, it feels like a little tropical paradise in a cup! It’s very good on its own, mixed with coke and lime, blended in a mixed drink, or in a mojito! It’s very smooth and has sugar and flavor already added in so you don’t need to add extra. It has a fruity/coconut flavor and smells like coconut. I’m a lightweight so this is perfect for me, it doesn’t taste strong at all even if it is 20%, and it has a nice smooth flavor. I’m not a big coconut fan but this is a really great liqueur that mixes great with a variety of other liquors and juices. If you’re looking to have a fun night with friends, Malibu Rum is great to add to the mix. Some great mixes that go well with it are, pineapple juice, lime juice or orange juice, cranberry juice, any tropical flavored vodkas, even lemon-lime soda with a dash of grenadine. There’s no limit to the fun mixtures you can make with Malibu Rum.

So I just couldn’t let go when creating my prior review on Malibu Rum, so I will name this “Part 2 on Malibu Rum. I am crazy over anything coconut so it’s no wonder why Malibu is my absolute favorite thing to mix and drink when it’s BeerThirty. I love to buy this brand for several reasons. It is fairly cheap. It goes with just about anything. Coconut flavoring can be mixed with some sodas, almost any juice such as pineapple, or sipped on straight up. My only slight complaint is if you drink it without a mixer, to some it has a bit of an artificial taste. I would suggest mixing it and it'll take that tinge of artificial taste right out. If you are looking for something smooth that leaves no harsh after taste, this is for you. It is very subtle and has hardly any 'alcohol flavor' to it. I would personally say it tastes more like a juice drink than alcohol. The alcohol content is 21% which is quite a bit lower than most alcohols; especially those with a strong alcohol taste. I am not much of a drinker at all. I drink at parties to be social and that’s about it, oh and on cruises I do love to drink on cruises. Malibu coconut rum is the best tasting thing I have ever had. It is sweet and when you mix it with pineapple it taste like a liquid piña colada. It is the go to drink for me and my husband when we take our own alcohol to a party we just spring or Malibu rum and some pineapple juice and we’re set for the night. You probably have to have a sweet tooth to enjoy it, it is really sweet. I love Malibu Pineapple Rum! It's a refreshing tasting rum, ideal for so many cocktails! Great with a mixer or on the rocks! We use it to make jello shooters as well! Malibu is a great brand, lots of flavors, fairly inexpensive, smooth taste, great to have on hand for parties or just partaking in a relaxing drink to wind down your day! Pictured is a Punch I made with Malibu Pineapple, Sloe Gin, SoCo, Disaranno, OJ and Grenadine! Sooooo Good!!

It's kind of okay.

This for me is to sweet to be drank neat. If you get the mix wrong with lemonade nothing but lemonade its weak, and strangely without a mixer neat also tastes quite weak. I haven't tried it as a daiquiri. Get the lemonade right which means add less and add more to make it to your liking it will make for a really nice summer in the garden drink. I haven't got a cream soda, but i have a feeling it may go well with that, but maybe sweeter than with lemonade. Don't try this one with a coke or pepsi completely throws this off. Years ago malibu did a malibu and spiced rum, not sure it was available in the UK, but in France it was and that was spiced dark rum and coconut which was divine. Would I buy this again? Misguided

I must say, the reason I do not like this product is probably my fault. For some reason I thought "Malibu Watermelon" would be the typical coconut rum with a watermelon twist. Watermelon coconut sounded decent to me. This is not the typical coconut flavored rum with a Watermelon flavor. It is just Watermelon rum. A very fake Watermelon flavor at that. I wanted to love this, but it's a miss for me. Can't even think about what I could mix it with. Maybe lemonade. MAYBE.

Refreshing summer drink

I'm not the biggest fan of Strawberry flavouring generally but I did find this an enjoyable drink. I bought it to take to a BBQ as a drink to share. I mixed mine with sparkling water and fresh fruit, to keep the sweetness level down, but others drank this with lemonade or prosecco. Very summery drink and very versatile.

Watermelon is not likable.

Unfortunately I was not able to select the Malibu Watermelon for this review. I love Malibu rum in cocktails, on the rocks and frozen mixes. I figured let's try the watermelon. The taste is not favorable. It's hard to swallow.. the aftertaste lingers. I threw away majority of the 750ml bottle. It wasn't worth the torture to continue to drink it.
