Good shoe but a little small
Good shoe for hiking and everyday use. They are a little small, but this seems to be a theme with Mammut sizing comments. All that said I have had them since October and use them 2-3 days a week so its not a problem. Would buy again, but may go up a size.... Show more

Great hiking shoe
Sizing is specific to Mammut, once you get that figured out they fit great. No break in time needed, weight is great. Waiting to see how it does in colder weather sub 30 deg. Will buy again and recommend. Mammut gear is great if you can get the fitting correct.... Show more

great looking, but runs small
Great looking shoe with good tread, but runs very small. Definitely not for wide feet. Normally wear a US11, but should have gotten a US12 in this particular shoe. Too late to return now. Hopefully they stretch a bit.... Show more

New Favourite Hiking Shoe
Great hiking shoe! Super lightweight doesn't feel bulky on the foot like others can do. The Waterproof Gortex Membrane has held up great in downpours and just over all very wet hiking. Super comfortable and soft to walk in, didnt take any time to break in, great tread and grip. Personally i dont have many faults with these, the rubber on the edges/sides has peeled away slightly.. but they have also had excessive use. I am buying another pair to keep me going when they are done.I also went in to a store and tried these on prior to first purchase to make sure the sizing was right , which i recommend doing, as they can fit a bit small.... Not satisfied
Coming from the ULTIMATE III MID GTX MEN which I really really liked (but got sold out), I bought these SERTIG MID GTX shoes which seemed comparable to the latter. My first impression was that the Sertig's seem to be a little bit stiffer and harder than the Ultimate's, which I find a pity but could get used to. But after walking some miles I was downright disappointed by the building quality. There seems to be a piece of the shoe penetrating my upper foot, which makes it painful to wear. I'm pretty sure it's a construction error because only one of the pair has got this. And a friend - who's a shoemaker - tells me the same... that it IS a construction error. Too bad for a brand that I regard highly!... Show more

Seem like nice shoes
Have only had shoes a couple of weeks.First impression was these are extremely light. They give good ankle support for their size. I have had other brands with similar design, they have not snugged up as good as the Mammut.Other wise it will take time to see how they hold up. Been good so far on a few hikes.... Show more

Sertig II Mid GTX Men
Super light, good fit and comfortable. However, I am not totally convinced about their waterproof capability. On a few occasions my toes have been wet/damp mainly walking through wet grass.... Show more

Size and smell
Firstly they are a nice looking boot with a good grip for what I use them for. They are a small size as noted in other reviews, but this can be worked with. The real problem I have is that after only one week the books smelt of ammonia. For clarity we have no cats and my feet are not the cause. The rain was heavy this first week and they did consistently got wet, but not noticeable internally each morning. The smell comes from the sole and they are barely usable two weeks after purchase. They have to be put through a washer cycle after each use, so I do not see them lasting a year. I accept I could have sent them back, but the eternal optimist thought I could live with it, which I cannot.... Show more

so far so good
I like these after a couple months in. I have a pair of Mercury IV GTX Mid and they are the best boots I've ever had for hiking. I wanted the same sole stiffness and side protection without the flex and these have it but they aren't as all-day comfortable. The fit is good but it feels like my foot is in a little rubber boat. After a few hours in they are better. The grip/traction/stability is really great. I need them to be light and stiff for all day every day support and these are perfect .... Show more

Tennessee Sertig II Mid GTX Tennessee
Mammut,First let me say that the Mammut customer service team are professional and excellent at what they do. The Sertig II Mid GTX is one of those boots the keep getting better the more you wear them. The boots are constructed with care and craftsmanship, need I say more? I grew up in the great Smoky Mountains and have had many pairs of boots some were lightweight, and some were heavyweight out of all the lightweight hiking boots I’ve owned I would put the Sertig II Mid GTX in the top three. I am very happy with my purchase couldn’t ask for a better product. Thank you Mammut for the excellent experience.Sincerely,Wallace Dalton.... Show more
