The legs and the spreader are a pain to manage: unfold and fold.The head works great but isn't easy to adjust. I still don't really understand how I am suppose to fit my fingers under the plate to twist the knob for exemple.

Upgraded from a very old Manfrotto tripod and head. Based on reviews of the 504HD, the 504X addresses the concerns people had with the 504HD (like the pan-lock location). The fluid head can be less than smooth when I have my 5d4 with a monitor and a 100-400 with 2x tc, but that’s probably user error due to balancing. I haven’t had any lens slaps as it is easy to balance. The head is of very solid construction, seems like it could take a few hits and keep on keeping on. Overall, I couldn’t be happier with my purchase. 0 buyer’s remorse and I look forward to improving my wildlife filming skills with this new set up.

This tripod does a great job supporting heavy weight cameras and rigs. It's probably overkill for a DSLR camera. I like to use it with heavy lenses and a tele-prompter. Nice functionality, ergonomics and build quality.
Purchased this as a gift to my church for our production crew that was always complaining they couldn't get smooth pans or follow the preacher when he decided to move on stage. Have gotton a ton of thanks from all the camera ops so I'm glad I purchased it. B&H has always come through for me regarding delivery, status and quality.
Love Manfrotto Tripods. They are so durable and hardy!!This model offers alot. Has a counter balance, vertical and horizontal drag. Also offers a level bubble with a light. Mid level spreader included.
I was looking for a reasonably lightweight tripod and head for my GH5 rig and after some research this one fitted the bill perfectly. The balance setting is great, and it will even hold my top heavy rig in place (I may attach the monitor directly to the head though). The fluid motion is fantastic and produces great pans and tilts, as well as holding everything securely in place. There's a bubble level with a backlight which is useful in the dark.The tripod itself is well made and quick to set up. The centre spreader is adjustable, although it is fixed and can't be moved to a lower spreader (not an issue for me). When clamped up it feels very secure with no worry of it toppling over. This is a great tripod. My last tripod was also Manfrotto. They are just made better and last longer. I splurged a little on this their latest model because it not only has a light on the bubble it also has a counter balance with it. Also big bonus for me is it has your locking along with the vertical drag on left side of the head. Love it!
These are a good set of sticks, and great for the prosumer sized 4K cameras from Panasonic and Sony. The head is great and easily holds our field prompter too. However, the locks loosen... frequently. Keep that little hex key that comes with it with you somewhere. You'll need it. Aside from that, I like the weight and the feel of these, and now have 3 sets in our plant.
I purchased this tripod to replace two older Manfrotto models I had. The 504X head sports many improvements over the older 504 and 502 models. The locks are much more intuitively placed, the drag and counterbalance controls are better, and the quick release system is much quicker. I appreciate smaller details like the LED illuminated bubble level and threaded holes to store the 1/4 and 3/8 tripod screws when not in use. This tripod combo comes with a soft carrying case, a nice improvement to my previous models that did not come with a case.
