Quality seems very good. Love the carbon fibre - strong but less weight. Folds up compactly so good for taking along on a hike. Probably too light for a heavier DSLR camera but smaller mirrorless types ok. Takes a little longer to set up.Biggest disadvantage is I see no way to position camera in portrait mode.

Finally, Manfroto has solved all the problems. The carbon version is super light and impressively stiff. Even fully extended at maybe 5.5 feet it is perfectly good, thanks in part to the surprisingly smooth pan and tilt, and the intelligent layout of locking controls and leveling adjustment. Of course it is only good for small cameras, but a Sony a7S3 body with a relatively lightweight 180mm Tamron was well within range for this incredibly small travel tripod. Easily fits in any carry-on. My only suggestion would be to make the pan handle at a bit of an adjustable angle rather than straight up and down, for tight situations. But that is minor.

Was shooting a home for a real estate company. I had my canon 6d Mark 2 with the Tokina Opera 16-28. Why I was hiding myself from the shot inside the kitchen, a chiwawa just slid out of nowhere and hit the tripod. it was too late to catch the tripod. My opera lens hit the ground (from about 4.5ft). One facet of the lens hood broke off. Very disappointed. If you are going to shoot with this, please make sure at least one hand and your site are on it at all time. Do not attached heavy things to this set. I do own other tripods. The Vanguard Alta Pro 2 , which I have own for years, knock this tripod on all considerations (sturdiness, and quality). Absolutely love this tripod. Insanely light and portable like a dream. I was initially nervous about mounting out A7RIV with heavy battery pack and other accessories on top of this. It lists 8lbs and our setup is 6 ilbs, but it is holding incredible stable, even at full extension. The fluid is is pretty simple, but plenty functional for our needs. The drag took a moment to understand how to get it going bast, but once we figured it out, it's been pretty good. It's manfrotto quality and it absolutely met our high expectations.
I was stepping down from a much higher end system and just needed something light and easy to carry around with a BMPCC4k, mainly for personal work. The tripod is light and happy with this but the fluid head is very mediocre. I think my old photography tripod head for stills is more fluid than this. Very disappointed with the head, they have a nerve calling it a fluid head.
Bought this for a lightweight travel/hiking alternative to my Manfrotto 055 tripod with 128rc head. It folds down nicely to fit in my backpack or suitcase, is much lighter and is sturdy enough for my spotting scope. I'll still use the 055-128rc combo when setting up near my car, but glad to have a portable alternative that works. The telescoping legs work well and are plenty sturdy since I'm not using it for photography. Only quibble is the rotation on the video head is a little rough, but it works fine. Looked at lots of travel tripods before buying this one--hard choice since there are so many out there. This one was at a good price point and will work great for me.
I bought this to go with my Sony AX-700 video camera as well as our Nikon camera. I bought it to use at my Daughters video games and when I go out in the boonies in Alaska. It is light, easy to use and while others had issues, feels very well made. I have used it over a dozen times without any issues. Folds up to a very small profile for easy Carry not to mention coming with a bag that fits extremely well, not like some bags where once you get it out, you can never get it back in. The tripod is smooth and even when filming and is a great item for anyone on the go who doesn't want to carry the extra weight. You will not go wrong with this tripod.
For me, it does what's needed. Super light, easy to set up and take down, and best of all it folds up to like 16, so it fits in my camera bag for flights and stuff. I just wish the knobs for loosening pan and tilt weren't made of cheap plastic, but I guess they were trying to keep the weight to a minimum. Because it's so light it feels like it might not be tough, but I'm sure it'll stay strong for a couple years. Also the head isn't the best fluid head out there, not enough resistance, but again, they were trying to keep it light. You probably can't go much better for a super portable travel tripod. If you don't travel, don't get this. It's completely travel-oriented, so if that's not the majority of the work you do, I'd suggest getting a cheaper alternative for ... MoreFor me, it does what's needed. Only 4 stars because the ball head leveling and the center column could use some fine tuning on future iterations of this great lil tripod. I haven’t had any issues with knobs or faulty workmanship.Coming from the solidness of the Benro Aero 2(which is great, but too big for my new setup) it took a moment to get used to the carbon fiber. I use this indoor and rarely need to make sweeping pans and tilts, so i can’t comment on cinematic smoothness. The friction is pretty good, you can’t adjust it.The flimsy plastic hook to add counterweight does give me pause. It doesn’t look like it will hold very much until it snaps itself off.But the best part about it is the Easy Link accessory port for magic arms. It has really changed my set up for the better.
Was able to use this tripod for about 3 months in the mid-west hunting whitetail and mule deer, then in Wyoming hunting elk late season. The twist locks are large, grippy and easy to get a hold of which I appreciate. The folded up length is compact and great for strapping onto a pack. To me, this tripod is a good weight compromise between pack-ability and stability. It isn't the lightest tripod to be found on the market, but those ultra-light tripods have a big downfall on stability making them basically useless on a windy day. It does have a ball joint so you can level the head quickly which is nice for dialing in balance with a heavy spotting scope. I didn't use the included head but what little I've played with it, it's plenty sufficient and smooth for binoculars ... MoreWas able to use this tripod for about 3 months in the mid-west hunting whitetail and mule deer, then in Wyoming hunting elk late season.
