having owned countless tripods that have ended up gathering dust i acquired the befree video for my panasonic G80 mainly for 4k video shooting of landscapes, urbanscapes.well it can now replace my more expensive studio manfrotto and the others i have sold or given away. this truly is my go-to tripod now. its just the right balance of weight, operations, quality. the video head is sooo smooth and easy to use. one light finger touch to pan is all that is required.

I love the tripod but I can't understate how much I hate the twist leg locks. My previous Manfrotto Befree (not the video tripod) had the latches and if you got sand in them they wouldn't close fully and you'd have to take it apart. For some reason I thought the twist design would be far superior. Here's the problem with twist vs clasp leg locks: you KNOW when the clasp is closed, but you don't know how tight the twist locks are. When you are running and gunning, quickly setting up and taking down, sometimes you don't tighten one of the twist locks fully and then the tripod gives way and falls over. Scary. I would've preferred the latch/clasp design to twist and I would've loved this product

I bought this tripod both for night time photography and interviews. Of course, I read other's reviews before making my decision, but was, none the less, very pleasantly surprised. The Beefree is solid, easy to use, with a very smooth action, and extremely flexible. The only improvement I suggest is making the level larger - it's terribly hard to read.
I love this tripod. It's compact, light, and super quick to setup. However, the only drawback is the mounting plate. There's nothing to prevent the 1/4" screw from falling out and it falls out very easily. I just put some gaff tape underneath to prevent it from falling out, but don't think I should have to as some of the other Manfrotto plates I've used have a little rubber stop. Other than that, it's a great little tripod!
This is a very nice tripod. The head is extremely smoothe and of highest quality at the price point. My only issue is height... It's not quite tall enough for my liking, but that is one sacrifice you make for it to break down to a nice portable size.
A solid travel tripod; a bit on the heavy side, but not absurdly so. The first unit I received had a malfunctioning head; B&H return was easy and efficient. The new one works fine. As many have mentioned, the locking thumbscrews are cheap plastic. The rest feels well-built.
I've been using the Manfrotto Element for a couple years and finally got tired of 1) the allen nuts coming loose at the joints and 2) not being able to see the leveling bubble. This solves both of those and I gain a fluid head with a ball joint to boot, love it so far.
Im an antique owner to Gitzo and Manfrotto and RRS.My last tripod a Gitzo mountainer gives me years to service for this reason y really love it.But...the time is time and the years in shoulders its no the same...For this reason, it put 200 and try Manfrotto Befree.My surprise is...so light and so stable for my A7rlll and 35 1.4 ZeissGreat for Manfrotto!!
Manfrotto makes great tripods.But while this one is called a fluid head the drag does not adjust. Once you screw in the stop screw the head bumps as you start to pan or tilt, so there's only one level of drag.It's fine for my iPhone but I'm not sure how good it would be for anything heavier.It really should not be called a fluid head.
