The higher the rating, the more Methyl Glyoxal it has. And this is the reason I bought this. I have gastritis and was feeling a burnt throat sensation every morning. Hoping that this would help, I took half a spoonful of this before going to bed. In the morning my throat was way worse than it usually is. It really helps when you feel like you have an upset stomach. I'm not sure if it's the antibacterial or antiviral properties in the honey but a teaspoon seems to help rid the upset stomach and relieve any bad bacteria in the gut. It even helps the bladder, when you feel a UTI coming on. I used this and the D-Mannose powder by NOW and all frustrating symptoms just went away. It is a quality product. I choose not to dilute in a hot tea or warm drink, to see the RAW honey benefits immediately, and just take it using a teaspoon. It taste delicious.
I bought this for husband's chronic gut pain (recommended by his GI doctor) and it helped w/in days, continued to do so. I switched to Manuka Doctor 925 as I thought the higher MGO would be superior. His gut ache returned. I bought Manuka Health 573 again which he took instead again, and relief re-started. I believe this product to be superior to others, and efficaceous.
I have been looking for a honey that is similar to the Danish Heather Honey. The Manuka honey with high MGO ratings come close but is not quite as strong / does not have the spicy overtones. I tried the MGO 573+ in the hope if was stronger in taste than the MGO 400 but I honestly cannot tell the difference. Very tasty and very good honey but from a taste point of view it is too expensive compared with MGO 400 which I truly love.A class product but I will stick to your MGO 400.
