When Marc Jacobs Daisy came out in 2007 it was MY fragrance obsession to end all fragrance obsessions. I (over)showered myself in the stuff daily. Went through multiple bottles a year…..for years....till, as happens with too much of anything sometimes, I hit a wall with it and our love affair ended. Apart from a few sniffs at Sephora here and there, our flame has not truly been rekindled since. I have been going through somewhat of fragrance memory journey and picked this up (rollerball) on a whim with a Christmas giftcard.As soon as I sprayed it….I was immediately transported back to over a decade ago. It is sweet but not in a gourmand way at all, in an….almost honey-like way if that makes sense. I love violet and while I do smell it in MC Daisy, I wish the violet note was a bit more pronounced; that being said, I still really appreciate its presence all the same. I do get a lot of other white floral notes though they are not super defined. I definitely pick up on the juicy strawberry note, and come to think of it, I think "juicy" is another perfect descriptive word for this perfume as well. I personally have a harder time picking up on any of the base notes (musk, woods, vanilla) and find this one to keep pretty consistent and therefore rather linear throughout its wear and it just never really gains much depth.Longevity is average and silage is as well.I think a large part of why I love this is, yes, for the nostalgia and memories it evokes, but it is also just a really nice, inoffensive, “safe” fragrance.

Basic floral fragrance that cannot go wrong, but….

When i first smelled this perfume, i was in awe. I thought i had found my scent. It has a sweet scent but not the sharp-sweetness kind that makes ur head spin. It’s also kinda powdery & floral. Perfect for everyday wear & for perfume beginners like me. After a while though, i start to realise that it really did not have a strong staying power. I sprayed 4 times & 2 hours later the fragrance is gone. That’s the only con i have, should have known as Marc Jacob’s perfume have a rep for being not long lasting..I also started thinking that it was kinda basic smelling after owning other perfumes. Not that it was a problem, but it sort of became normal compared to other strong perfumes i have. That’s why i said this perfume is great for perfume beginners. Beautiful Scent, But Lasting Power is Poor

The Good: I've owned this perfume many times since its original release in 2007 but I mysteriously stopped repurchasing it. When I initially spray this on the skin I get notes of mixed floral, a stronger citrus and a touch of alcohol-which I genuinely enjoy. But this perfume really shines after it dries and mixes with my chemistry I get a wonderful, luxurious, full-bodied violet scent. It transports me to drinking wine by the countryside in a wonderfully kept garden filled with luscious violet field. Truly and classically, a sexy floral scent. I went on a perfume challenge recently and re-discovered why I liked this perfume so much back in the day, which is always a nice stroll down memory lane. The bottle is also quite gorgeous and eye-catching on a vanity, so if you're a sucker for beautiful bottles with gorgeous scents this is a classic.The Bad: As much as I love the scent I'm incredibly disappointed by it's lasting power. As most perfumes almost "fade out" from the skin into a fainter version of themselves, this mysteriously disappears. Every time I use this I had to re-apply within a couple of hours and then re-apply again. I don't know if it's because it's a eau de toilette opposed to a eau de parfum or if it's something with my skin chemistry but this literally disappears without a trace... it's the strangest thing. I like a perfume that lasts at least 6 hours so I really feel like the lack of lasting power takes away from how awesome this scent is.The Ugly/Honest: As stated, the staying power needs massive work. For a brand like Marc Jacobs, I really expect more intensity in their fragrances. I owned some of the other fragrances and don't recall any of them disappearing off my skin like this one does. Since this is the OG, I think that's a bit backwards and disappointing. The scent overall gets 4 stars but I had to knock off a star for the poor lasting power.

Floral/Fruity Scent

I received this in my VoxBox complimentary from Influenster and in exchange for my honest review.I have to honestly say I never tried a Marc Jacobs perfume before Influenster sent me this to try for my honest review. At first when i used it I was impressed with the scent. The scent is so very fresh and clean smelling lasting for what seemed to be forever. I sprayed a single pump to my wrist and neck. I wasn’t sure if I liked it or not it’s a light floral and fruity smell to me. All you need is one single squirt to last all day and into the evening. In bottle top notes: citrus light vanilla initially I picked out no floralsOn me top notes: alcohol based perfumes always smell strongly of alcohol when they hit my skin, but that disappeared quickly here and left a fresh squeezed orange scent but that also fades to vanilla within 3 minutes. It’s still in the background on my skin but the vanilla is stronger.Mid notes: this was far and away my favorite stage of this perfume. Daisy I am sure I must have tried at the store at some point and it simply didn't allure me in any way. However, reading the notes and reviews for Daisy itself and those here for dossiers version I decided to order this one and really give it a try. While reading reviews on daisy to see how many others had a similar experience to mine, several individuals mentioned layering this over something sweet for a spectacular scent. Well spraying something sweet over it didn't do much to improve the rather boring clean green scent. However, if I layer this over a sweet lotion it's spectacular. Then I get all the strawberry sweetness and it lingers for hours. I was getting really sad, I hate returning things but it seemed that from my second order I was only going to keep one of the 5. I am definitely keeping this one now. I will be returning 2, the 3rd, I feel like I should hold on to. Perhaps it will shine in warmer weather or maybe I will figure out how to make it work for me. I have noticed that there is something about my chemistry where many scents that smell great on others don't perform well on me. I am really glad I didn't give up on this one. It needs some help on my skin but it is worth it.
