Marc Jacobs Perfect Eau De Toilette - 50ml

I received a sample of Marc Jacobs Perfect EDT. I am familiar with the original EDP because it's one of my sister's signature scents on rotation, so I'll be making comparisons. The new EDT version is a bit different than the EDP in notes (not just heaviness). It's so confusing to me when companies do this, why not just call it a flanker instead of an EDT? The opening is quite fresh, like the original, although I can smell the note differences. This version has more creaminess, like lotion or conditioner-like quality. There is also a nice light sweetness too, but I'm unsure of where it's coming from. I want to say it's fruity sweetness but it's hard to tell. Overall I'd say this is a fresh but not soapy, soft and lightly sweetened floral, with an extremely airy presence. It would be shocking if this offended anyone. The first words I think of when I smell this are "clean girl".

I received this free sample in exchange for my honest opinion. I absolutely love this scent! I was a little shocked by the sample size (I was one of the unlucky ones that received a sample size verses the full sized bottle) Nonetheless I was so happy to try this scent! When I first sprayed it I could immediately smell pink peppercorn notes then daffodil. Together they formed a fresh and energizing scent. I love a fresh clean perfume that’s not too floral and this one did not disappoint! The scent stayed with me almost all day without reapplying it. My husband even complimented me on it! I loved it so much i ordered a full size bottle yesterday. This will definitely be a scent in my staple collection. Currently my new favorite scent!

In the third hour I could finally smell the cedar, at this point the fragrance was barely detectable. 🌼 Pros: It’s airy and mild if you are looking for a fragrance that is subtle then this is for you, if you love overly sweet fragrances then this too is for you, if you do not want a fragrance that calls attention, that isn’t loud, and this is more intimate (not sexy) but only smelled up close, then this is for you. 🌼 Cons: (Please note that these cons are based on my own personal opinion and may differ from yours, but if you are like me, then I hope that this is helpful) the fragrance is overly sweet, I prefer Marc Jacobs Perfect Intense over it, the sweetness was a bit nauseating for me. I love a fragrance that projects and turns heads even if it’s fresh (like Tiffany intense) Perfect EDT does not project or turn heads, it fades far too quickly to be noticed and only my husband could smell it because he could smell my neck. You will need to reapplying it every 3 hours to maintain the scent, and it smells far more like vanilla then any of it’s described notes. If sweetness isn’t for you I recommend Marc Jacobs Perfect Intense.

To give the best comparison to the original, I tested the new Perfect EDT on one arm and the original Perfect EDP on the other at the same time, on freshly washed skin, moisturized with unscented lotion. If you're not a big fragrance person, they might smell too alike for you to want to own both, but they're truly unique fragrances on closer inspection. After an hour on the skin, the new EDT has the most delicious, almost salty note that melds with the skin and is reminiscent of a beachy breeze. I'd take it on a vacation somewhere warm to create a scent memory. This is absolutely going to be a beautiful spring and summer scent for 2023. Projection, sillage, and longevity are comparable to the original EDP, so don't be put off thinking it won't be as strong. Longevity is actually slightly better on the EDT. Will likely purchase a full bottle for myself, and definitely as a gift for friends who enjoy fresh, fruity fragrances.

As a perfume lover with a sizable collection, I have to say that I didn't like this flanker at all. I have the original Dot in the ladybug bottle. The Perfect EDT smells like a watered down version of Dot. It just doesn't smell good. It's an EDT which usually doesn't last long. This one lasted about 4-5 hrs before it became a skin scent. Projection was poor since it didn't go beyond arm's length. This would have to be over sprayed for it to last without being reapplied. Since this was a carded sample, it was gone in 4-5 sprays. I suggest that Influenster only send out full bottles or travel sizes for review so that the fragrance can be sprayed enough for a full wearing. Companies that only agree to send carded samples should not be sent out for reviews. An Alluringly Standout Fragrance

I have a love/hate relationship with perfumes. I love the perfect smell but it has to be haunting and subtle. Then this sample came along and really captured my senses. I wanted to really give it a chance to love it and I do. At first I thought it would be too strong for my migraine-sensitive nose. But I was gentle in applying. In fact a tiny bit was all I needed for it to transition from what I assumed was too strong to just right. It stands out. It doesn’t hide. It is sadly average and reminiscent of dozens of other scents (including some others by Jacobs). It's fine. It's an eau de toilet which, as I've become more particular about my preferences, I never buy unless it is a truly exceptional and unique scent, and stick primarly with eau de parfums for numerous reasons. Perfect also fades too quickly for my liking. This isn't something I would purchase for myself, but I would wear it if it was a gift.
