This cage is essentially all you EVER NEED! Bench press and barbell squat have never been so perfect for the price of this. This cage comes with a chinup bar and it feels a lot better than my power tower chin-ups dip station because it comes with a slight angle instead of the straight up and down of the power tower. The material quality of the cage is high. All of the parts and assembly align great. If you are mechanical savvy you should have no problem putting this together. I had help of one other person. I had bench press benches in the past and they don't stack up. I can literally rerack my bar with confidence unlike past benches where I had to carefully align it with the bar catches. For the price it isn’t terrible. If you have a wider grip while benching then this will truly hinder that for sure. I can get ring finger on the bars groove before running out of space. The pulley system isn’t the best. Does not slide smoothly at all. For home use or someone not trying to get too crazy this will work fine. Definitely not something I would’ve wanted back when I was still power lifting. Assembly was pretty easy. Accomplished it in about 2 hours on my own and was in no rush at all.

Perhaps not sturdy enough for a large upper-tier athlete, but good durability. Assembly was not difficult, but it was tedious and the directions could have been clearer in some spots. Took about 3 nights to do, working 1-2 hours each night. Having a lat bar is what really set this item apart from the rest, especially for the price. Im always looking for in depth reviews to help me buy so hopefully I can help others make a decision, so here it goes The bench weight max issue of 300 lbs is irrelevant, buy a better bench, I personally didn't expect much of the bench at this price I was shopping for a cage/rack but its wide and pretty decent, a big long too so make sure you have the space. Im more of a more reps guy then max weight so the max issue was no problem for me. The rack itself is pretty sturdy and light weight at the same time, it's easy to move around if you need too. Downside to that, the more weight you put on the pulley system it moves the whole cage. I would invest in an universal Olympic weight holder add on peg for your weight plates on the side of the cage which will also hold it in place, I myself didnt need it as my dumbell rack has a place. The lat bar is cool but you def need the chain(included) and pull out of the cage for reps as there is not much space to pull down in it without the bar hitting the sides. The width for benching is standard. The cage does not take much space neither. Wish the pull up bar was straight and wider but I will take it for the price. No real complaints here
I got the package yesterday without any problems and was right on time as scheduled. Assembly was pretty easy to do but does take a little time. There are a lot of parts to put together. The instructions are images only. Some text and well written steps would have helped with assembly. After assembly I went through my first work out and my entire body is sore on day 2. So I think the cage has done the job! If you want a solid workout, this is for you.
Once you figure out how to assemble this is a great product. But!!!!!! The included instructions are HORRIBLE and there was no video on this particular model. So bring your patience and then enjoy when done. Would also like to see a different configuration for the leg portion of the bench. It should be totally removable when not in use - it is bulky and a tad dangerous. All in all - good value for the price.
The quality of the pieces to put this unit together is great! The directions are merely suggestions. I have put together so many pieces of furniture, I felt confident this would be a breeze. Maybe heavy, but a heavy breeze. The directions had no steps. Just illustrations of where parts go. No order to put them in. Also a wrench was recommended to use. I recommend using the appropriate socket attached to a drill to fit in tight spaces and speed up the process.
This is my second Marcy Home Gym product. My first Marcy Home Gym product I had for over 15 years. This Marcy Home Sturdy and can do a number of workouts on this machine/bench.When putting the unit together, be sure you have help with putting together the cage. It's not heavy, but cumbersome and bulky. You'll need someone to hold the frame together while another person applies the bolts and connectors.Overall, I am pleased with my purchase.

All the parts make sense on where they need to go that you almost don't even need to look at the diagram. AND THE BEST PART, the hardware came in the absolute best packaging I've ever seen. I wish I took a picture but it made the process so easy I was smiling the whole time. Other than that, it took me about 4 hours?? Had to order it and pay shipping because of lack of inventory in the store...an extra 71 dollars. It was a christmas gift to our son. As of today, January 6 he is still not able to use it due to missing parts. Comminication with your company is terrible. So far he has not enjoyed his gift at all. We put it together as far as possible. It is not usable.
