I'm very confused about the B12 claims of this product. It says "added B12", yet the ingredients does not list B12, which it would legally have to do if B12 is added and B12 does not naturally occur in yeast at such levels. The best info I could get on this is that the yeast is "grown in a special high B12 medium", which doesn't tell much. I think I will get the non-B12 version in future and use supplements to top up on B12.As for the actual product, it looks a bit like fish flakes :) It's very crumbly and can be sprinkled onto foods to add a savoury flavour. Salads with a copious dressing can be made extra tasty with some yeast flakes sprinkled on to them. These Organic Yeast Flakes are my favourite, taste wise. Apparently the yeast has been grown on a matrix of molasses. This dark sugar imparts goodness and extra taste.

I’m so glad Holland and Barrett stock these delicious yeast flakes - they are a staple in my diet and add so much flavour to my food when I want that cheese taste, it’s really yummy sprinkled in salads too. The fact that it’s got added important B vitamins is even better! My diet is very restricted so this really makes up for a lot of foods that I’m unable to eat. The size is excellent too - this will last much longer than the older version, so you get plenty for your money.

This is my favourite nooch (nutritional yeast) out of all brands - it has the most flavour: cheesy, nutty, umami; it's absolutely delicious. I put it on everything; salads, pasta, sandwiches, pizza, popcorn.

This stuff is fantastic. Sprinkle generously over spaghetti bolognese or any dish requiring Parmesan, for a cheesy hit, without the calories. The whole tub only has about 350 calories and lasts ages. It will blend into sauces really well, but it won’t melt on top of an oven bake as there’s hardly any fat. I never cook with dairy cheese any more, “nooch” is a staple for me now.
This stuff helped me give up cheese completely. It has a delicious cheesey taste with loads of health benefits. It's better for the environment, your health and the animals too! Great for sprinkling on salad, pasta or just about anything else. Highly recommend.
The newer smaller package isnt just to save on material. If you compare it to the previous tubs you'll notice the change in the amount of B1, folic acid etc.I understand the tub size is reduced but serving amount stayed the same. Just no reason why the amount of vitamins has decreased since the new package?As a customer we deserve to know why this has happened as we're not getting the same nutritional yeast compared to before.Because of this the price should have changed as well and not stay the same.
As a new vegan of two months, everyone around me has been raving about yeast flakes, so I thought I'd give in and buy some because before I was deficient in a lot of vitamins but I'm probably more deficient now that I'm vegan. (thanks, picky eating brain!)I don't entirely know what to even do with these now that I have them. I tried some as they are and they taste like... cheesy paper flakes? Will probably chuck em in soups and the like, but outside of that I'm not really all that sure what they can go in!
I saw my housemate eating these and I thought they looked pretty weird, kind of like fish food. then i tried it and i realised how yummy and moreish they are! they add a nutty cheesy flavour to pasta or whatever you put them on, but weirdly i noticed they taste extra delicious mixed into a salad. it's almost like parmesan! i get one of these in every weekly shop now
