After playing Mario Kart Wii over Christmas at a friend's house, I bought this for 3DS expecting slightly less, because of the small screen etc. But no! This is better. There are cooler items; coins to collect for unlockables and speed boosts; gliders; underwater sections; better monster-things; excellent tracks and pretty good karts.Saying that, the karts are the only disappointment. There are no bikes and fewer karts. You know in Mario Kart how some of the karts are a bit weird? Like, why would you want to drive something that looks like a pram? Yeah, most of them are like that on MK7. I am looking forward to unlocking the Metal Mario Kart!OVERALL:This easily gets five of my stars : )It's awesome!

So this is the first Mario Kart game I have played since the original DS one that I didn't play much of. I have never been much into racing games but I like Mario games so this one I wanted. This game does not disappoint. The kart customization is a really cool addition. The whole glider thing is really cool and this leads to some really cool parts of the tracks. That is the best part of the game is the tracks. I have no completed this game but the tracks I have raced on are all very cool and very well designed. I love these tracks. Just buy this game, you will not regret it.

I decided to get a 3DS XL (mostly to play the new Animal Crossing game on) but needed a game to play on in the meantime. This was that game. I love it. I loved the old Mario Kart DS, but love this one even more. The tracks pose a great balance of amazing new ones and those which have been gloriously redesigned, with new characters/game mechanics which any fan will love. The ability to play over the internet with players from all over the world instantly (even if you don't actually know them) is 100% a big step up. And the graphics are even better than the Wii version. And even when you've played all of the courses, you never get board because you can constantly challenge other players and your old 'ghost' data to improve improve improve - much like this game has done...

my grandson couldn't wait to play this with me over the air, was he ever so happy. He played me so much he wore my fingers out. this one & mario paper & mario gold coins. he was busting at the seam to play me these games on his 3DS XL. But he still prefers to come in and play my 3DS, maybe its because I have more games on mine! who knows he just loves Mario. Its not a lot different from the wii game a few extra changes to it, but once you start playing mario you get hooked. I just feel disappointed with nintendo this is there 'flagship' but nothing seems to change much over the years. come on nintendo give us something with a wow factor please.
This for me is pure fun and I find it rather relaxing. The graphics are brilliant and the new circuits are brilliant too. I wish there were more characters to choose from as I would like to be Waluigi, but he doesn't appear on Mario Kart 7 3DS.I love the different choices of cars and wheels and they make very interesting and funny combinations. I do find with playing on 3DS that my thumb hurts after a while because it isn't in a very comfortable position during racing.I like the coin collection during races and that unlocks more choices when choosing your racing vehicle and wheels. Absolutely brilliant game. I bought two copies for my kids - one is 2 and a half, the other 9. Within a day my youngest was able to turn corners, and control the car with ease. The game is simple but beautiful, with lots of great features, as in its previous versions. The drivbers reactions are funny, the weaponbs are funny, the tracks are well designed to gradually get harder. The upgrades and customisation is great, allowing you to having different vehicles with different characteristics. My oldest loves racing it and challenging me to games also. If you've played it before, its very easy to pick up and play, and youll be up and driving in a couple of minutes.Well done Nintendo - another superb game!
This was only my 3rd game on the 3ds so I didn't exactly know what to expect. I didn't think it was good at first because it wasn't at all like Mario kart on the ds and I didn't get the hang of gliding. I thought gliding was a bit weird because to go up you push the control pad down and to go down you push the control pad up. I thought the characters were brilliant how you started with eight and you unlocked nine (including your mii). The races were good and there were a few from Mario kart wii and a few from Mario kart ds and lots brand new! The items were OK because they added some but I didn't really like them. What I also thought was good that you can unlock different kart's, (there are no bikes) gliders and wheels. You can do time trials witch are really fun because in time trials you can also try out shortcuts without coming eighth in a race. You can also earn coins on the game by driving into them when doing normal driving but you can only earn ten coins in a race. The only problem with this game is that the 3d affects aren't very good compared to Super Mario 3d land and Pilot wing Resort. Overall: This game was very entertaining and I recommend this to anyone with a 3ds.
Great game. Classic Mario kart action. The 3d effect of the 3ds is fantastic and will breath some new life into the classic gameplay. I have used the word classic here a lot already and that may also work against these mario kart games. Not much has changed since the snes days. It looks fancier and has more features. But it is not much different. But when a game is fun it is fun. Online mode doesn't work anymore, but single player is still a blast
This game is so much better than the last one. The graphics are so much more better, the carts are better and though some of the courses are the same from the last one the new couses are incredible! I love the game, it is so addictive and hard to put down. The idea of them putting the coins in can be slightly frustrating, as when you get hit you loose so many coins and you have to collect more to unlock new carts, objects to help you race (hand gliders parachutes etc) and also different tyres that can speed up your car, or help with handling, etc. Though that part is frustrating the game is incredible, and I love it. I can see why it was difficult to get the game, it was worth the money. I would recommend this game to anyone who enjoys racing, likes the mario ... MoreThis game is so much better than the last one. I bought this for my 10 year olds birthday who was turning 11 so I'm going to let her write it.Mario kart 7 is amazing and arrived on my 11th birthday we ordered it on Monday and it arrived on Wednesday. first of all Mario kart 7 is worth it! if u haven't got a 3DS to play it on u should get one! You can play on your own or with friends nearby ( they don't even need the game! ) or on the online multi player that lets u play with random people from all around the world! you can unlock characters to play as but u need to be really good at the game though, I really want to unlock Rosalina cos she is my favaroute character but im not very good at it yet. I also got the ds version ages ago. I love the game! :3 its defiantly worth the buy.
