This game is fun. The bonus material with this edition is very high quality and looks great. The actual gameplay is some of the best in the series, with little innovation but near-perfect honing of previous mechanics such as the emblem rings replacing the pair-up mechanic from Awakening and Fates, and the break system supplementing the weapon triangle. The story though, is so bland and predictable that it seems that it was written for children. Another negative is the artstyle. It is some Genshin Impact weeaboo degenerate stuff. A positive stylistic decision are the buttery smooth beautiful combat animations. Overall, worth spending the $110 USD

I have beaten the game and I know the entire story. The game's trailers may give the impression that the story is of a similar quality to Fire Emblem: Fates (a previous game criticized for it's story). I felt this way as well before I actually played the game, but I now know that this is incorrect. The early game presents the player with information about the world and the quest they are on. On my first playthrough this seemed quite generic. However, I started a second playthrough and I now know that 50% of the dialogue in the opening 4 chapters is very skillful setup of fairly intense payoffs that occur much later in the story.

I don't normally like giving bad reviews for items based on the condition I received it. It doesn't say anything about the quality of the product itself, which is the point if reviews. This is more about lodging a complaint against Best Buy.I picked up my game this morning. As my fellow FE fans know, this item is INCREDIBLY rare. I was gonna leave it unopened and displayed as a collector's item.Only to my dismay, not only was the box already opened, but it was opened ON BOTH SIDES. That tells me that this wasn't some accident. Someone working for Best Buy was probably trying to poach something, maybe?Either way, that instantly makes this thing worth a little bit less.On top of that, when I talked to the online help, they said I could go in and swap it for ... When I double-checked to be sure, cus I knew this thing was sold out everywhere, they ASSURED me that the same copy would be exchanged.I'm extremely disappointed in this. It may not seem like a big deal to some people, and that's fine, but it's a big deal to me, and it affects how often I might be doing business with Best Buy in the future.BB, hit me up.

This was a special order and a gift to my son for his birthday. The package was opened, the seals were torn off and everything inside was not in original location/ packaging.Obviously some kid/kids in the back room just could not contain themselves. They just had to open up the game to “check it out .” I approached the manager on duty, who said let me get you a new one. I sad sure go ahead and see if there is another one in the state. Of course out of stock. My son was very understanding and made sure that everything in this special order was actually in the box.I just wonder with all of the rewards changes, why buy things from BestBuy. They have taken all of the incentives away. It’s now purely a lowest price or it’s an emergency and I have to buy it at BB. ... MoreThis was a special order and a gift to my son for his birthday. Sad really.Oh, my son was very happy with the game play. So 5 stars on the game, BestBuy execution, 0
Fire Emblem Engage is a step up from its predecessor Fire Emblem Three Houses. Graphically, its the best the series has to offer and veterans will be satisfied with the gameplay. However the story is subpar for a game of this size. A generic story and cheesy clichés makes what could have been a great game good. The steelbook, artbook, and cards are well made and it is what you expect from the product description.
Beautiful collection for one of the best art designed Fire Emblems. Art books aren’t for everyone, but after collecting quite a few over the years, I can say that this is in the top tier of books, the art is stunning. The game is…fine? If you liked Three Houses for the compelling story and characters but didn’t care for the tactics, this game might not be for you. The writing is simple, and all the characters are very one dimensional, but the strategy and customization of your little anime army keeps this “engaging”
Came in a box (Thank you Best buy) and was well-protected. For the extra $40 you get a lot of value for your money. Art book has nice glossy pages and is almost 200 pages. Comes with a Steelbook and original case. The game itself is good. I prefer it to Three Houses but not everyone will feel the same. The world map gives me Awakening vibes. I put it on hard/casual and it was vey tough the first few battles but the difficulty balance has been good, although still a little easy because of casual, which i prefer.
Shipping was very quick, and the box came in one piece, though all the like packaged air was popped and not full of any air when it arrived. Saw some other reviews say the seal was cut and honestly I don't remember if mine was too. The contents were all fine though so I don't care. I really like the ginormous poster and the artbook that comes with this edition, though I sadly have nothing to hang up the poster with at this moment (I am NOT ruining it with basic tape...).As for the actual game, it is what it is. I liked it, personally. Anyways, I'm satisfied with this purchase.
Is what it says, Mariokart 8 Deluxe, just the cartridge. Package comes with some sort of protection around it in the box, and the cartridge itself is in a micro ziploc-like plastic bag. Perfect size, perfect if you just want the game to be able to play with friends (or by yourself!) Obviously if you're the kind of person who likes putting plastic boxes on a shelf, eh, you won't like this. Other than that, perfect value! $20 off what Nintendo keeps wanting, and we know Nintendo never lets their games go down in value. Honestly a steal.
While I loved 3 Houses, I feel like Engage is a return to a more traditional FE game that focuses more on the strategy gameplay. Or more specifically the weapon triangle is back and it feels so good! The character designs are also top notch with them being designed by Mika Pikazo (please check out their portfolio!). Another nice part of this game is the impressive performance. Yes, being on switch sets the performance bar kinda low, but all things considered I think it's great.I think this is a great entry into the FE series and has a good amount of QoL features to make it accessible to newcomers to the series!
