I put this on my Xmas list knowing full well that my 3 year old would love to play this. Putting it together was quick and easy and I was surprised how quickly my 3 year old took to it. In fact she now beats me at it.I'm leaving this review here as my wife informs me that she bought it from here. There are a couple of minor issues such as being at a disadvantage if you pick Luigi. This is because the ramp obstructs the controls. The other issue is storing it away when not in use. All the fun of Mario Kart without the screen! Parents rejoice! And....wait for it.....no batteries required!! My son is 7 and he fully enjoyed this toy. He and my 11 year old put it together from start to finish. They loved building it almost as much as they liked playing with it! The main idea is there are 2 racers...Mario and Luigi. Each child gets to manage one of the racers. There are multiple levers that work different sections of the track. If the child moves the levers too hard the racer will come off the track. This may be frustrating for younger kids. My 7 and 11 year olds figured it out fine but they're on the older side for this toy. I'd say 5 or 6 year olds would be ideal.

We are huge Mario fans so we were super excited about this Super Mario Kart Deluxe toy. It is pretty easy to pop the pieces together and is super cute and unique which we loved. Unfortunately when it comes to actually playing there are a lot of design flaws that make actually playing get boring and frustrating quickly. First off the person who is Mario uses the red buttons and switches to move Mario around the track and the person who is Luigi uses the green buttons and switches to move Luigi. The first problem is that the track kind of covers the green buttons and switches and makes them harder to see and use compared to the red ones. Then there are a lot of times when playing that the cars get stuck or fly off the track which gets annoying to have to fix ... MoreWe are huge Mario fans so we were super excited about this Super Mario Kart Deluxe toy. My 9 & 11 yr old (who both still love games like this & LOVE Mario) both tried this game out. They put it together fairly easily. The 11 yr old was better able to follow the directions & assemble it. Once together it was a lot of fun, but there were some issues. Mario would get stuck on the track & had to be moved with your fingers instead of the buttons. The track was also a little unstable & Mario would fall right off the track. The quality of the track was very nice but it just didn't stay together well. Eventually, the 9-year-old gave up. The 11-year-old continued to play by himself. He's a really easy-going kid & I could see that he really wanted this game to work as intended. I think this would be good for a parent/child together, but patience is needed.
This is a cute little game that's fun for my 4 year old, and myself! But the quality is a bit cheap, and the cars don't stay on the track properly. They regularly fall over onto their sides or jump onto the other players track, or jump off the board altogether. Quite annoying having to reposition your car all the time. I bought it as a Christmas present, and we enjoy playing it, although it's not the best thing I've bought.
The kids love all things Mario, so picking this up was a no-brainer. We've been overall very impressed by the toy. It's something our 6 year old can manage by herself, which is nice. there are some small pieces, and it can be a bit of a pain to wrangle things / put it away, but not a HUGE issue. I also really like the branding. It isn't just a random track with a Mario sticker. There was really some good thought put into making it a "Mario" experience. The kids LOVE it. We're happy. All in all, a very good buy.
Really good and kept my son entertained for hours. However one racer ended up being faster than the other. If you are like and are rubbish with sticking stickers on, it’s a bit difficult with this game…. There are so many! Also the little Mario card got bent before we even put it on. Price is a bit steep for what you are getting….
My kids love this MarioKart Racing game a lot, they played for hours without getting bored. They can play it everyday, this is new to me, since they never play the same game again next day. This game is great choice because I don't need battery or charging to get it function. This game gave them a winning feeling and helped to improve their memory since the kid had to memorize the function of each button. They also found it interesting to assemble and decorate with the stickers. I am glad I found this game for buying my kid happy time without electronic devices. I highly recommend this for any ages, we - the parents, and my 6 year old and my teenagers all loved playing it.
My son loves playing his Mario Kart on his nintendo so I knew he would be interested in this. This is a really decent size, which would be really cool to have as a travel game if going on long trips. This is for 2 players but it can also be played with just for fun as 1 person. The way it works is, theres a starting line and a ending point. There are different laps that make this identical to the actual game. On the side where the starting lap is, there is a ticker which clocks each lap. This does not take batteries, which I thought was really neat. It has different buttons to press all around to make the cars go through each obstacle and lap. This comes with 2 race car characters, Mario and Luigi and stickers for placement. This is fun but we always get stuck on ... MoreMy son loves playing his Mario Kart on his nintendo so I knew he would be interested in this. This is fun but we always get stuck on the escalator type ramp…for some reason both cars get stuck at the bottom half and need a push to go up which defeats the purpose of the race. Other than that this is a really cool and fun game to have for any age or gender.
My youngest grandson loves Mario, so this was a game he was very excited about! The cars are a bit difficult for him to keep track of at his age (he's five months away from turning 5) but he really had hours of fun with this with his big brother, age 6. My only complaint would be that the track is a bit flimsy & should have a better locking or assembly system because it just won't stay together for two boys at play at least, and come on, it's a little Mario Kart track! Of course they're going to be a bit rough with it & moving it around, so it fell apart a great bit. It became a bit frustrating to keep having to assemble & reassemble. However, initial assembly was fairly simple.
