Mario & Rabbids return in another wacky tactical adventure. But is this better than the first one? It’s up to Mario, Luigi Peach and the Rabbids to save the galaxy and defeat Cursa. Also, if players are new to this, there’s a difficult setting so they can enjoy playing the game or enjoy the story and if players make a mistake in a battle, they can restart anytime they want. Presentation Like the first Mario & Rabbids game, Sparks of Hope has lots of exploitation and many puzzles and battles to experience in order to get 100%. The music by Grant Kirkhope, Yoko Shimomura and Gareth Coker is amazing to listen, and more DLC coming in the near future. Mario & Rabbids Sparks of Hope brings out the imagination to both Mario and Rabbids universe. With amazing gameplay, good story, and great presentation for Mario fans can get to. While it’s short, Sparks of Hope has lots of new things to explore.

This game is a lot of fun with great improvements over the first game. There are different worlds with different environment types and different enemies. Each character has unique weapons and moves. It is just great all around. If you liked the first one you will like this one. And if you have not played these games before I think you will enjoy it. They have a lot of difficulty sliders available to make the game as easy or as hard as you want. So anyone can have fun playing this.

Its an improvement over the first game, but mostly more of the same, which is generally a good thing. You're getting some fairly decent albeit somewhat easy tactical gameplay with a decent amount of enemy variety (if you're including status-inducing varieties) and character customization (although its hard to not prioritize certain skill trees which might limit the actual customization somewhat.) The exploration and puzzle elements are pretty rudimentary, although the environments are enjoyable to traverse. Its wrapped up in a level of polish and the whimsy you would expect from a Mario + Rabbids crossover. The writing and characters are genuinely funny and its just a fun game to play despite its flaws or limitations. A fun and worthy sequel to the incredible Kingdom Battle game. Pros: A little longer than the first at 55-60 hours to complete 100% of tasks (if it lets you.) Replaces the original's grid-based mechanics with a circular distance mechanism. The game is still based on a grid, but allows characters a bit more freedom of movement and shows distances in a circle surrounding the character to give a greater sense of realism. Cons: Even less attached to the Mario series than the first game: Mario & Company could just as easily be replaced by more Rabbids with little loss to story. A rearrangement of the techniques used by characters in the first game makes some much more useful than others (particularly Rabbid Peach and Luigi.) Cons: Even less attached to the Mario series than the first game: Mario & Company could just as easily be replaced by more Rabbids with little loss to story. A rearrangement of the techniques used by characters in the first game makes some much more useful than others (particularly Rabbid Peach and Luigi.) No undo system this time, and once a jump or landing is performed (even if by accident) you are committed and a mistake can leave your character wide open to attack. The game also has a huge amount of bugs: both graphical, with lots of pop-in and plane shearing, and functional, with characters getting infinitely stuck alternating between two grid squares, the game randomly crashing after a targeted enemy is defeated (especially in the final battle), and one of the quests does not register as completed no matter how many times you do it. For a game that took many extra months of development and is now 3+ weeks from release without resolution, such bugs do not reflect well on Ubisoft or the latest version of the Snowdrop engine. Were it not for such obvious defects it would be worthy of a perfect score. Some have also complained that the Rabbids are now voiced (short two or three word fragments mostly) and have dialogue, but I didn't mind. It's explained in-game as improvements in Beep-Os translation system that has occurred since the events of Kingdom Battle. Cosmic Edition includes both the Megabug weapon skin pack and the Galactic weapon skin pack, which is otherwise available as part of the Season Pass DLC.
Its a good game but isnt entirely like the first game. In the first game you traveled through the Mushroom Kingdom. So when you engage into a battle within the world you didnt get taken out of the experience by loading into a separate field thats not connected to the world. Which made the first so memorable. In the sequel you travel to many worlds and the battles are more like an og rpg game. You walk up to a baddie and are instantly transported into a random area. Like i said if you haven’t played a Mario + Rabbids game. Just play the first release.
Very solid follow-up to the first amazing game. I remember being curious but cautious about the first title and so glad I decided to jump into this series. Ubisoft absolutely nails these Tactical RPG Mario Spin-offs. The only thing I don’t much care for here is the addition of voice acting for the Rabbid characters. It’s a little off-putting for my tastes, but others may not mind it as much. There’s also a load screen for almost everything, which is really weird for a modern game. I understand the switch has limitations, but this game was specifically made for it and this is their second-go-round. It should be a bit better optimized. The visuals are still as good looking as one can expect from a title on Nintendo’s almost decade old hardware. And while I am really ... MoreVery solid follow-up to the first amazing game. If you’ve waited this long to grab it, it won’t hurt to wait for a price drop. I promise it won’t be a long wait.
Mario + Rabbids back again. Most everything about this game is an upgrade to the original game. There is one thing that I miss... actually upgrading weapons. This mechanic has been replaced with changing skins for a weapon, but I haven't seen that the skins change any characteristics of a weapon. I'm 30+ hours into the game, the in-game progress shows me at 75% complete. I've seen 5 distinct worlds with some variation of enemies. There is at least 1 more area I haven't made it to yet. The game dynamics have greatly enhanced by being able to leverage slide attacks in conjunction with team jumps and jump pads to traverse encounters. There are skill trees that change the characters health, dask, drop attack / heals etc... and then sparks with thier abilities that can ... MoreMario + Rabbids back again. Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope is a fun filled sequel to Nintendo’s popular Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle game. Gameplay Travel alongside Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, and their Rabbid doppelgangers as they attempt to rid the galaxy of Darkmess- yes, mess not ness – and stop the space monster Cursa. To accomplish this, you must use tactical strategies to battle enemies and puzzle-solving skills to unlock new areas, complete tasks, and collect Sparks – that grant you in-battle special moves and abilities. Quick Review Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope is an addictive turn-based strategy game. Quick Review Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope is an addictive turn-based strategy game. If you enjoyed Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle you will love the updates that they made to this sequel – such as your character’s ability to move more freely in the battle arenas and while exploring the kingdoms. Those new to this series are in for a treat as this series combines challenging battle arenas and puzzles with light-hearted humor! Pros - Beautifully designed worlds and imaginative story line - Immersive soundtrack Cons - Gameplay in docked mode is laggy - Swapping between characters, sparks, and skills is a bit of a chore
I loved the first one, and the second one is a nice balance of improvements but still keeping the core mechanics that make it fun. Pros: - Can take as long as you want per turn and reset battle with zero punishment. No losing lives or paying in-game currency. - Improved the feeling of movement on the maps. - The sparks are a fun addition to enhance what your characters can do and encourage trying different combinations. Last game I had a team I rarely changed. Cons: - A bit too open world with a crappy map. If the map was more detailed I wouldn't mind, but I'm a bit dumb and get lost.
The new approach to movement and combat is okay. I don’t find it particularly better than the first game. Feels like fixing something that wasn’t broke. The sparks are very fun and probably the single best new aspect of gameplay. What’s missing from this game is the originality of the first. Kingdom Battle was all to do with the mashup of the two properties, Mario and Rabbids. That has been lost this time around. It doesn’t matter too much from a gameplay perspective but it leaves this game feeling not quite as fun as its predecessor.
