I purchased this for my Five year old son who loves Mario. We mostly play as a two player game but it can be played with a single player also. It makes us work as a team and tests your problem solving skills which I think is good.It hasnāt taken us too long to complete the game but then weāve unlocked expert levels and time attack challenges so that adds more to the value of the game.We have enjoyed it and I would recommend it to other Mario fans.

Do not waste your money! First ever game review! Nintendo put no effort into this game. Yes it looks awesome but the gameplay is horrible. Mario says he stiff the traditional game and his movement is not there. a very offbeat soundtrack with no interactions and occasional woo hoo. Complete the first five levels with my little one and his response was āthis is a bad game no more! ā it is not kid friendly! The mechanics is just trash!

I have had a lot of fun with this game so far and was glad to see a fun gameboy game get remade for modern consoles. My only issues with the game is that it is very short, which isn't inherently bad (mostly because it was a gameboy game), but $50 for the game is a little steep to pay for what you get. It is fun no doubt but just isn't worth the price. I did enjoy the game a lot. It is very simple, easy, and fun to pick up and play for a bit if you want a relaxing game to play. Overall it was a good time, but I would wait for a sale.
I grew up with the original Mario V.S. Donkey Kong on the GBA & it is one of my favorite games from that era. When I heard they were remastering this game I was overjoyed! Getting my hands on the game and it's just like I remember, except a bit touched up in terms of graphics and how better it feels to control Mario. It's very cute & a fun game that doesn't take too long to beat. If you like short puzzle-like games I feel like this would be for you. Also, there's two bonus additional worlds to expand further on the game! If you played the original it'll definitely be worthwhile to try this remaster as well! I've had a few complaints about the game though. I feel like the price isn't justified for such a short remaster of an old game. I am also disappointed at how much they've taken out of the original game for the remake. (EX: Funny death animations and the sound effects) I feel like they've took a lot of charm out of the original and watered it down to be an average remaster cash grab to finish up the Nintendo Switch line up. I do still love this game a lot! I don't regret buying it, but I really wish it was a bit cheaper & they didn't take some of the charm away from the original.
This is an incredibly faithful remake with beautifully updated graphics and sound of a Game Boy Advance game thay was itself kind of a sequel to a 1994 enhanced remake of the original Donkey Kong arcade game for the original Game Boy. Even the Game Boy Advance's slide show style cutscenes have been completely remade as fully animated movies. The game play is very similar to the Donkey Kong arcade game, bug is much more puzzle based rather than being an obstacle course. Mario has a lot of moves that are familiar to modern Mario games to help solve the many levels. This game probably won't be the first game that people think about when they think of the best video game remakes, but it really is. Great port with updated graphics. Due to the nature of the original game being on a handheld system, this game is best for played in short bursts and/or possibly in the handheld mode on-the-go. To my knowledge, there havenāt been any major additions to this port other than the updated graphics & sound, and two new game levels. So the full retail price is probably a bit too much to ask for unless youāre a fan of the series or original game.
Phenomenal game! I have all of the Mario games for the switch and every time a new one comes out I have to buy it! So far Iām on world 5, and I really enjoy Nintendos take on this. It reminds me of the old school game boy advance version that I played as a kid. The courses feel more like solving a puzzle/strategy based. But as a huge Mario fan, I must say this is my favorite game right now. I highly recommend!
A very fun, howbeit simple game! Not very challenging, but a nice brain teaser to pass time. I did like how this was only 50 instead of the usual 60 or 70 dollar price tag most games have now. Its a bit of a short game, made it to world 4 in about 1 hour/1 hour and a half. So if you are looking for a game you want to enjoy for a while, maybe go for a different game. I also really hope they add Creative Mode like M vs Dk Mini Land Mayhem had on the DS, that was so fun to utilize! That alone would make my review go from 4 stars to 5! :)
I always regretted never playing the Mario vs Donkey Kong series, so when I heard they were remaking the original game, I knew this was the perfect time to jump in. And it has not disappointed one bit. Even 20 years later, this is still a fun and addicting title. In an age of large budget and cinematic focused gaming experiences, itās nice to enjoy game thatās just focused on simple, yet fun gameplay. Isnāt that what video games are supposed to be?
