I absolutely love my new waterproof - well-made, contemporary style and practical (lightweight, good level of waterproofing, very wind proof, silver lining keeps you cosy, under arm vents keep you from being too hot, rolls up small). Medium fits me perfectly as someone who is 5’7 and wears a UK 12 on top - and I wear this jacket over a slimline down jacket. Also the khaki green colour is gorgeous - I hate the pink/purple/turquoise colours so many brands stick to for women’s outdoor wear. The only thing I’d do to improve it is provide a little bag to roll it into.

For this price, I was positively surprised. Took it on a backpacking trip to the Colorado trail - anybody who knows it in August knows there is a lot of rain :). I stayed mostly dry. Where the backpack sits on the shoulders, it got a little moist - but that is to be expected. It also packs pretty small and is super light. No annoying velcro at the neck which is a huge plus for me!

A great raincoat!! This raincoat is my fourth or fifth Marmot coat over many years. The Gore Tex fabric keeps out all rain and dampness, and the larger hood with a brim also does a fantastic job keeping you dry. The color is great and the fit is perfect!

I researched a lot of goretex jackets and I’m very pleased so far with this choice! Only used it in some light showers so far, but no issues. Very light and easily packable, wonderful color, and I love that the sleeves can be tightened. Would highly recommend!
I love it! Fabulous fit for outdoor activity and movement. Loose enough to accommodate layers. Looking forward to continuing hiking adventures within its rain and wind proof comfort. Highly recommend this product.
This jacket has a rugged, yet sleek face fabric and the zippers never get stuck or jammed even when I throw it on in a hurry. The Minimalist has a flattering fit, and I was able to comfortably wear a mid-layer without it affecting my mobility. The packability of this shell makes it an easy choice to bring along on every trip and is appropriate for inclement weather all year round. The Minimalist has me covered from rain showers in the warmer months to unrelenting sleet in the depths of winter.
I bought this two weeks ago, and received it just in time for hiking Christoff Mtn outside Greenwater. We started the day with overcast skies, winds, and snow flurries at elevation that turned to hail and sleet as we got back to the car. The Marmot Minimalist kept me warm and dry throughout. By the time we got to the top at 3400 the sun came out and I was able to stay cool using the side zippers without removing the jacket. The fit was a little boxier than I anticipated, but I have a smaller waist. I did like that the Marmot Minimalist jacket is longer than my previous EB First Accent and fit nicely under my bigger pack. Overall, I’m very happy. Great product!
Heading to Iceland for a true test against wind and water, but specifically sought out Gore-tex because I know it works! Some people say it's just a brand; I say it's a sure thing.I'm weight/height proportional, 5'7", approx. 140 lbs. but went with XL as this will be a top-layer shell. Glad I did; a bit oversized and perfect. Sleeve length for my long arms is good and always love velcro wrist cinches, as well as two large waterproof zippered hand pockets and one on the chest. Oddly there's only a single bottom cinch, but not a deal breaker. Jacket is a little more "crinkly"/noisy than I'd prefer, but more concerned with staying dry and cutting the wind and it's lightweight without being flimsy. One thing: I wish Marmot would add a drawstring around the hood face. ... MoreHeading to Iceland for a true test against wind and water, but specifically sought out Gore-tex because I know it works! The coat zips all the way up with a nice deep collar, but because you cannot cinch the hood down, I foresee any underneath hood or hat getting wet around the face.Service from Moosejaw was stellar. Will report back post trip on performance in the wild.
I purchased this jacket during our winter months & it has been very versatile so far. I purchased one size larger than I usually wear to ensure room to layer underneath. I have worn this coat with both fleece and down jackets underneath and it has done an excellent job in keeping me dry and warm. I wanted a goretex shell that was packable for mountain climbing & this jacket by Marmot is perfect. I know it will also serve me well during our Spring rain & it will also accompany me in the summer during my camping trips I have planned. A three season jacket in a beautiful color is a win win!
This coat is definitely the most waterproof jacket I've had. It hasn't soaked through yet. However, the shape of it is rectangular and not that great for anyone who is hourglass or pear shaped. I got a medium and it is still a bit baggy and long in the arms, but barely fits over my hips. I can't really zip it up if I want to walk at all!
