I purchased two of these. One broke down after a few months: would charge but wouldn't start, wouldn't unlock, wouldn't respond to any buttons. The maker was kind enough to send a new one. A few months later another one broke, this time not charging at all. I'm not contacting the maker this time because it's not a reliable product. Also the maker mentioned that the sound machine needs to be powered off and restarted from time to time. I do power it off anyway, but I can't believe that a machine this simple requires regular reboots to function properly. It's the year 2022. Without that, it would be a good product. Maybe a few more noise types would be good to have.

We bought a Rohm sound machine with our first child and have used it everyday for nights and naps for 3.5 years with zero issues. I am a huuuge fan of that sound machine. We started using this Hushh sound machine with our newborn and within two months of use we’ve had multiple issues. First, it started not turning off. We followed the advice from Yoga Sleep to let it run out of battery completely before restarting it. That works, but is very inconvenient to do every other week, and annoying to have it on for 24+ hours and then turn off suddenly (which seemed to always happen in the middle of the night causing me and the baby to wake up). Now, it stopped working completely. It wont charge or turn on. We’ve tried different outlets and charging cords with no luck. I see a lot of reviews about it failing to work after a while so I wanted to possibly help if you’re having this issue! I’ve had mine continuously play if I forgot to unplug occasionally and just a few days ago mine completely stopped working/responding. When it wouldn’t stop playing sound I would unplug and let the battery completely drain and that works so when it stopped responding I did the same thing. Wrapped a rubber band around the power button for a few days and let it drain. I just plugged it in and it’s working again, so try this out before buying another. :)

Added this to my registry after seeing good reviews, but I’m not sure it’s all it’s cracked up to be. Received one at my shower, but had to buy another only a couple weeks after baby was born because the buttons got stuck in, and the machine would not turn off. Did not bother to go through a return, just purchased another, because what FTM has the time in the first few weeks?! Machine has 3 sound settings and many different volume levels from quiet to LOUD! I always set the machine on the second lowest level for baby, but sometimes we wake up in the middle of the night to the machine blaring, all the way up on the loudest setting- not sure how this happens?? It also does not seem to remember a volume setting once turned off and then on again—can be startling or ... MoreAdded this to my registry after seeing good reviews, but I’m not sure it’s all it’s cracked up to be. It also does not seem to remember a volume setting once turned off and then on again—can be startling or disruptive if you turn it on while baby is sleepy, thinking that it will be quiet where you left it, but then it’s on the loudest setting—UGH! This machine is portable which is nice—brought this to the hospital when baby was born and hung it from the bassinet—nurses were impressed. Charging is easy, and it does seem to last a good amount of time once there is a full charge. We use this on the white noise setting, and purchased a different brand machine for a heartbeat/pulse sound, and we play both at nap/bedtime for baby. Would I recommend? Eh.
I received this sound machine as a baby gift (almost a year ago to the day) and it was wonderful while it was working. My child is now just over one and the machine has stopped working entirely. We have only used it as a travel machine as we have the Yogasleep Duet as her everyday sound machine but all of a sudden it won't turn on nor is there a green light when it is plugged in to charge. I am pretty annoyed that this product only last a year with use that complied with the directions. I am also annoyed that I am not eligible to make a claim given that I dont have proof of purchase since it was gifted to me from my registry.
This was the third sound machine we’d gotten since my 4-month old was born, and it’s the last one we’ll need. The first was very cute, — a stuffed lamb you can hang on the outside of the crib that will shush on loop or make other white noise as selected — but he shuts off after 30 minutes and our baby then promptly wakes up every time. Plus he’s battery operated and with regular use he dies just about every 2-3 days. The second was a stuffed bear with lights that project onto the wall and about a dozen options for sound. We thought he was the solution to our problems because he didn’t have an auto shut off feature, plus we loved the cute star projection. But the sounds he offered weren’t as good (mostly lullabies) and he drained batteries faster than even the ... MoreThis was the third sound machine we’d gotten since my 4-month old was born, and it’s the last one we’ll need. The first was very cute, — a stuffed lamb you can hang on the outside of the crib that will shush on loop or make other white noise as selected — but he shuts off after 30 minutes and our baby then promptly wakes up every time. But the sounds he offered weren’t as good (mostly lullabies) and he drained batteries faster than even the sheep. It was then we came upon yogasleep’s Hushh sound machine based on the recommendation from Taking Cara Babies’ sleep course and we haven’t looked back. It’s not “cute” but I’ll take effective over bells and whistles any day. No more buying batteries by the truckload or constantly swapping out and recharging the reusable kind. The Hushh charges easily and quickly via android type charger and it lasts through the night and 3-4 naps during the day (sometimes longer) before needing a charge. It has three classic white noise sounds (our favorite is the ocean), it doesn’t auto shut off. Plus, it’s nice and compact so our kiddo is easily soothed on car rides and on the go in his stroller. We are quickly learning as new parents that less is quite often significantly more, and that was certainly the case in this instance. A newborn doesn’t care how cute his sound machine is, just that it helps him get to sleep and stay there. The Hushh does that.
We have 2 of these. The first has been flawless. We’ve had it for almost 3 years and it’s still going strong. Our most recent purchase that we bought bc we needed one for an additional child has not held a charge. It’s been super frustrating. Not sure if we received a dud or if the newer models aren’t as good? The return window closed. So unfortunately we have to purchase a new one. But we’ll be going with a different brand this time around to ensure we don’t encounter the same problem.
TL;DR: The quality on these have decided immensely since I purchased my first one 4 years ago. Two new machines have malfunctioned within the past 9 months. I do not recommend. My original machine from 4 years ago still works perfectly. I ordered a second for my second child, so that we could have one for each room. Within a couple of months it started freezing up so that it wouldn’t turn off; none of the buttons would work until I let the battery die (which takes over 12 hours). After 8 months the machine died completely. I loved the original white noise machine so much — and it still worked so well — that I took a chance and ordered a replacement of the same model. I’d hoped my second order was a dud, and that this replacement would be as good as the original. ... MoreTL;DR: The quality on these have decided immensely since I purchased my first one 4 years ago. I assume it won’t be long before it dies, too. Don’t waste your money on this.
This has been the best sound machine. The charge lasts for over 3-4 hours without being plugged in (would probably last longer I just haven’t tested it overnight.. I leave plugged in overnight. I have two toddlers (14 months apart) and they each have one that stays on the wave sound mode every night! Both have slept through the night since very early ages and I believe it’s due to this sound machine and black out curtains (and a consistent bed time routine too). Would recommend to anyone! Also has wide range of volume from very quiet to loud if you need
I was going to get the hatch mini, but read a bunch of bad reviews saying it was messing up with the iphone compatibility, and that’s the only real reason i would spend $40 on a sound machine. I found this one for virtually half the price with my coupons, and me and my baby are in love. I’ve had it a little over 2 weeks now, but it’s been doing really great. Only has 3 settings which i thought would be too few, but my baby literally only likes one of them anyways and it puts him to sleep instantly and keeps him asleep. I love that this is portable and you can take it literally anywhere, i clip it into his bassinet so it’s right next to him at night. He loves it. the only reason i am giving 4 stars is because the battery life is a bit short. still good for such a ... MoreI was going to get the hatch mini, but read a bunch of bad reviews saying it was messing up with the iphone compatibility, and that’s the only real reason i would spend $40 on a sound machine.
