Marshall 1960BV - 280W 4x12 Straight Extension Cabinet
Modelled on the 1960b, the 1960bv shares the same excellent build and aural characteristics. The difference is that the 280 watt 1960bv is loaded with celestion g12 vintage 70 watt speakers. These speakers have a smoother higher-end response, which sounds warmer than the g12t-75s in the 1960b. the mid range is well defined providing plenty of chunk without getting too boomy, which lends itself to heavier, more aggressive rock genres. It has been said that the lower-frequency response of the 1960bv has a ‘tuneful’ quality further details can be found on the marshall amps website .

I needed a cab for live gigs, ended up buying the Marshall 1960AV and it suprised me.I play heavy music(drop tunings) with Peavey amps which the Marshall handles very well, this cab is very audible in live situations or rehearsals. Very mid-based sound, also a hint of higher-mids aswell which cut through the mix very nicely. There is some headroom for more resonance/bass aswell, but not as much compared to Orange cabs for example. Finally, this cab is reaally loud!Thereafter, the cab is pretty solid, not too heavy and the wheels are very very handy aswell. Easy to handle! Finally, this cab has V30s, but they are NOT standard V30s. They have sliightly different characteristics(just like v30s in Mesa cabs have different characteristics), just so you know !
