Fantastic sound from a retro speaker

This Marshall inspired speaker just screams retro, it looks so good, big chunky knobs and a solid on/off switch which is a pleasure to turn on. Operation is simple, press pair, it seeks out your device. Once paired, the real fun begins! The quality of the sound is astounding. Great pounding bass, the volume should go to 11, it certainly sounds like it is. Treble is added also. This unit really fills a room with sound.Almost forgot to mention that is is packaged beautifully and comes with auxiliary adaptor included.A quality product that should give pleasure for years

Purchased as faulty. Limited in its function. Will only play via aux and then for only 3 minutes before needing reset. Should have returned it but it looks amazing and I decided to keep it.

I saw this at Urban Outfitters for practically 50% more than it was listed here. It's beautiful and sounds incredible, too. I'm a big audiophile and while it's not the world's most amazing speaker, it IS leaps and bounds better than the tiny battery powered bricks you can buy everywhere today. It gets much louder as well. My wife and I use it every day and the Bluetooth capabilities are easy to use. The unit itself feels really solid, like it's an actual Marshall product. The knobs and buttons are tight and work flawlessly. I used to be in bands so this fits perfectly with the rest of my home equipment. I can't gush about this enough. If you're looking for high quality sound from a really beautiful looking speaker, go for this one.

Great build, A lil flat

The overall product looks awesome on my shelf. I hooked up a raspberry pi to it for a digital music library and streaming system. The sound can get loud in an apartment/garage. Definitely designed for indoor use only. Sound does not carry well outdoors. The sound is great except just a little muffled at high volumes. I don't want to turn it up to max in fear I'll blow a speaker and be stuck with distorted sound. Overall Great product, but not perfect. Good value for the price point.

Great sound from a tiny screamer

As a long time Marshall guitar amp and cabinet user I really wanted this BT speaker for a long time, but found it too expensive. Finally, my wife and I decided on the purchase and we were not sorry. The look and finish is on par with Marshall amp quality. The user experience is fantastatic until it comes to pair several devices at a time. For some weird reason it always pairs with my wife's iPhone, whenever she comes into the room. It takes ages to pair sometimes with a single device in the room, so I usually turn the Marshall off and on to work. It has huge problems pairing with my BT wireless LP player as well. Otherwise it sounds great, via BT or Aux. I even used it a couple of times to play through my iPhone guitar amp and it is just amazing. This was a present for my 16 year old son who hasn't been to all the big-time rock concerts like I have. But, he had an ear-to-ear grin after unboxing! This fits perfectly on his desk next to his computer and game console. He tells me he has by far the best speakers of all his friends. They all have great respect for the box after researching the heritage (and are jealous of course). The components are of excellent quality. The gold plated knobs feel precise with very nice feedback. The connection chord looks like a classic coiled guitar cable with gold connectors - brilliant touch. In summary - everything top-to-bottom is well thought out. It's the best looking compact speaker available in my opinion. The sound is top notch, which is the most important. Loud & Clear!

Pros Excellent instrument separation with crisp sound. No distortion at full volume. Awesome bass. I can physically feel the sensation of sound. Either wired or bluetooth, literally no difference in sound quality. Retro design really elevates the aesthetics of the room. Cons Makes a very low hiss sound. Its not noticeable unless keeping the ears close to speaker. I thought this could be a bluetooth interference, but it behaves the same way while connected through audio jack too. Any insight in this matter is greatly appreciated. Apart from this minor flaw, this is an extremely impressive sound machine.

Oh yeah, THE BEST
27 August 2015

This is the best, BEST, bluetooth speaker out there. Seriously. It sounds like a whole sound system (equivalent to a really good stereo setup from the 80s, for example). Good, good sound. Quality build. Really high quality, tactile analog controls to tailor sound. Simple, effective bluetooth pairing (bluetooth distance may be its only weak spot, keep the device handy). I use it with my iPad and my iMac and both work wonderfully with it. Full volume will totally rock my New York apartment (which is on the larger side for NYC). For the price this is a no-brainer. Much fuller, deeper (more analog) sound than you get from similar models from say Bose, for example. It really makes my digital files almost (not quite, but almost) sound like vinyl.

Purchased a couple of Welsh ago by a geezer in his late fifties. I buy CDs and support artists. I had an opportunity to sign up to a streaming service and thought that a Bluetooth speaker would be a great way to listen to the content coming in to my iPad. I also have my Music library stored on an external hard drive. The unit sounds great - it’s a solid, Marshall-like cabinet. It paired faultlessly with my sources and subsequent guests have been able to inflict their recent musical discoveries on me with ease. Too much ease.

Rough round the edges.
24 December 2019

It's OK but I thought it sounded a little rough or corse, and soaring guitar notes didn't really sing through for me. I found snares to loud and I wouldn't know if they are mids or treble to filter it out. It's also painfully difficult to adjust the volume at low to normal listening levels. It seemed to go from whisper quiet up to 2 and then from loud to very loud from 2.4 up to max.For something of it's size and being a 2-way design with a 4" woofer I thought the bass extension unspectacular. I was hoping for something that would go all the way down to 50 Hz. I forgot to test it before I sold it on. I replaced it with a UE Boom 3 for the same cost which is actually much less powerful (16 W vs 40 W I think) and does not fix the bass extension.
