Best Value in a Marshall Pro Quality Cabinet!

The Marshall MX212AR 2x12" Guitar Cabinet is an exceptional value in a 2x12 cabinet that will withstand the rigors of being on the road. Great heavy duty construction and the Celestion Seventy Eighty speakers have nice punch and suitable for all styles of playing. Built to the same standards of the Marshall 1936 cabinet just missing the top skid pads for a full size heads and stereo inputs, however, for less than half the price you can't go wrong with this cabinet. Using it with a DSL20HR head and it is a perfect combo!

Exceeded my expectations!

Bought this to lighten my rig load. I was using a 1982A 4x12 Marshall cab before and it was destroying my old man back lugging it back and forth to practice. Needed something lighter and sounding just as good or better. Guess what? This sounds better! Perfect for metal or rock. Enhances any previous tone you had before. Tighter, punchier, more attack and the low end is perfect! Highly recommend!

I paired this Marshall cabinet up with my Valve King 100 watt tube amp and it sounds amazing! Great sound with clear settings all the way to high gain with distortion. I love it! the other players in my band are envious. It's relatively easy to transport too. It's a little bigger than some combo amps, but it's lighter because the amp is separate. So I have the Valve King amp and this cabinet to carry, each are very manageable.

Excellent Lead Cab
17 January 2019

Overall:I usually run my DSL 100H through a 1960BV 4x12. I purchased the MX212R for "smaller" venues. I can say that his cab is excellent for lead playing. I get the right amount of sonic dynamics and even at lower volumes, this cab performs. I have also used it in combination with my 4x12 and it really gives it a boost in highs and mids which is essential for what I play. I highly recommend this cab and for the price, it's definitely worth it!

Great price for a great cabinet. AND its a Marshall.

The construction of this cabinet is as good as the old Marshall 4x12 cabinets. Speakers mount into T-nuts using screws. Very sturdy. They are not front mounted and you dont have to try and get the speaker to line up up on any little pegs. The Seventy 80 speakers sound good but I do prefer other Celestions better. Swapping out was 15 minutes. Again the screws into T-nuts are the only way to go. It is the perfect size for a 2x12 cabinet. Looks are great. It is a very impressive speaker cabinet.

I would buy this speaker cabinet again
27 May 2024

I''m using the cab with a Marshall JCM-900 amp head, for live gigging, since it's lighter than carrying around a 4 x12 cabinet I would have liked to have seen a handle on to, as well . Also for us "older" players, an "option" for Wheels, as well. It's easier to roll it than it is to Lift it.

It was so nice, I bought it twice

All I know about Music is if you wanna play guitar then you need a Marshall, and this little baby delivers. I liked it so much I bought another one to go with my Marshall 50 watt tube head. now I can have a Marshall stack but its really only a half stack (if that makes any sense). and Sam Ash's delivery was fast, and delivered right to my door

Marshall downsize

I'm an old rock 'n roller who grew up with the Fender and Marshall sound in all the classic music from the 60's, 70's, and beyond. I couldn't afford the "name brands" when I was a kid but after I became able, I purchased much music gear, including "all the best." Not playing as much anymore, I let my Marshall 1960 angled 412 cabinet go some years back - just too big to carry around. I kept a Marshall JCM 2000 DSL head and it just sat around. I thought I'd find a cabinet, at some point, to be able to use it again. I just happened to look on eBay one day and there it was! The Marshall MX212R is actually an extension cabinet but it was a perfect fit for the JCM head and half the size of the 1960 top cabinet. Sounds good with my 6505+
18 September 2024

Works well with my 6505+ to my ears. I was originally going to get the 1936 cab, but all the better quality Marshall cabs are on back order. So, I saved a little bit, and still sounds good.

You get what you pay for

Cabinet build is okay for MDF particle board, no real problem there. Speakers are bad though. Thin trebly sound, no mids or bass. Seventy 80 speakers can be bought for 40 new, thats how cheap they are.Check youtube celestion comparison videos. Cabinet is not wide enough for a Marshall JVM and must have been made for the new DSL. You will need to buy new speakers to get this cab sounding good. Better off buying an Avatar cab with no speakers and adding your own.
