Very good product very pleased
I purchased the following Marzocchi Bomber Z2 fork in this configuration:Travel: 120 mmWheelsize: 29"Hub spacing: 15 x 110Stanchion lower color: RedApproximate weight: ~1900 grams (post steerer being cut down to 7"Bike: 2020 Cannondale F-SI (hardtail)I purchased the Marzocchi Bomber Z2 fork to replace an unreliable and troublesome Cannondale Lefty Ocho fork that was hemorrhaging suspension oil all over my front brake caliper. I can easily say that the Bomber is a significantly smoother travel fork than the Lefty but also a lot more responsive than I find with a Rock Shox SID Ultimate. I have a Fox 34 SC on another hardtail and can easily say that the Bomber Z2 feels like a less refined or tuneable version of this fork but tries to give you the same ... MoreI purchased the following Marzocchi Bomber Z2 fork in this configuration:Travel: 120 mmWheelsize: 29"Hub spacing: 15 x 110Stanchion lower color: RedApproximate weight: ~1900 grams (post steerer being cut down to 7"Bike: 2020 Cannondale F-SI (hardtail)I purchased the Marzocchi Bomber Z2 fork to replace an unreliable and troublesome Cannondale Lefty Ocho fork that was hemorrhaging suspension oil all over my front brake caliper. I can easily say that the Bomber is a significantly smoother travel fork than the Lefty but also a lot more responsive than I find with a Rock Shox SID Ultimate. I have a Fox 34 SC on another hardtail and can easily say that the Bomber Z2 feels like a less refined or tuneable version of this fork but tries to give you the same suspension feel for hundreds of dollars less which is honestly commendable.UnpackagingIn the box, I found unincluded are a starnut, Fox 34 tokens, the manual and also the small screw and plastic guide for the front brake hose - easy to lose, so make sure not toss the box should you buy this same fork. The Knobs and AdjustabilityThe manual lock out knob is plastic but it feels much smoother to use than a Rock Shox or even Fox knob! The rebound knob on the lower stanchion feels easy to adjust. The stanchion lower has a sticker chart/guide that has the air pressures to weights listed that should make tuning this fork easy. I did find that the chart is a bit on the "baseline softer" side, so you may want to go above the chart's recommendation if you want a slightly more firm ride.WeightI weighed my fork out and it came out to approximately 1900 grams. This fork in hand feels pretty light. Hand in hand with a SID or Fox 34, the Z2 feels heavier but like by the weight of a couple bananas or half filled water bottle. And that may be right as I think the weight is from the amount of oil inside the fork (it is air sprung also).PurposesI compete in local XC bike races and for fun, my trail riding includes ~5' drops, 5-10' gap doubles and 2-3' huck to flats. And I have really enjoyed this fork's performance much better than the Rock Shox SID and Lefty Ocho forks that previously were on this bike.ServiceabilityThis fork has about 200 miles on it and have yet to service it, so I do not have an opinion on this yet.OverallIf you are looking for a well rounded fork that is under $600 and has the weight that won't make your bike feel like a lead weight up front with above-its-class performance, I would not thumb my nose at this great-value fork...which is why I bought two of them. Plus, that red color is awesome!
Huge upgrade for my 11yr old son on his bike. Very smooth fork and great adjustability.
