It either stands upright on the shelf or hangs from the shelf in the fridge or freezer. Easy to read and good quality- made of metal not plastic so should not break easily. Fridges and freezers should come with thermometers as standard but this does the job well. The blue areas clearly show the safe zones above or below which the temperature should not go to ensure your food is being kept at the correct temperature. I would definitely recommend this.

This product helped me identify an issue with my refrigerator. Although it's now fixed I still use it as a back up for the digital thermometer within the fridge. Large and easy to read so you don't need to keep the door open for long. Worked in the freezer too.
It seems to be unnecessarily large at 10cm tall, If you hang it on front of a shelf it blocks the view/ reach. I have much smaller and neater thermometers in a vivarium, of course the lower temperature range isn't there, but they can be made small.
Does the job which is reassuring as the fridge in my new property doesn't have a temperature gauge. But it's quite big and doesn't fit to hang on the shelves so tends to get in the way and get knocked over.
It is possible to read of 5 c on the thermometer, but unfortunately the divisions for C are for every 2 c eg 2, 4, 6, 8, 10.This makes it slightly harder to check the exact temperature inside the refrigerator compartment accurately.It's a nice solid job and appears to be accurate. But more choice would have been useful.
I bought this thermometer to cross check my two digital thermometers which I have in my new fridge, which is giving me problems. When I bought it I took the trouble to compare the temperature readings on a number of them on the fixture, there was a very slight difference on quite a few, but I consider this to be acceptable with such a thermometer. However when I put it in the fridge and gave it time to settle down it was out by 2 degrees cooler than my digital thermometer on the same shelf. The same was true of the other thermometer but both on a different shelf. As a matter of interest this type of thermometer can only give you the air temperature on which ever shelf it is sitting in that moment in time. To know what your food temperature is you need to do a water bath test as I call it. The thermometer needs to be placed in a tall glass of water and left for some time. My digital thermometers which are not waterproof must be placed in a plastic bag which is waterproof! They then send a signal to my room thermometer that I can read at my leisure, it also stores the maximum and minimum temperatures over any given time. I hope this will be helpful to you.
Be aware the face doesn't look like that advertised, the temperature 'zone' is actually cream (north blue) which makes it a bit difficult to read easily. Temperature shown moves up and down as I adjust fridge temperature so am guessing it works properly.
. I thought that my new fridge freezer was not working properly, ice cream wasn't very frozen. So I bought this temperature gauge to check. I found I needed to adjust the control in the fridge. Everything fine now.
