I bought this as a stand-in pizza oven as I am looking to make a proper one once I build my new house. I thought it would be a waste of money as a long term oven, but might get me by..... HOW WRONG WAS I....This oven is awesome for the price. I can hold 180 to 200 degrees without trying, in fact I had to get used to how little wood is required as it gets too hot. I took the advice of another review here and bought a little rack(metal roast rack also from bunnings) and works a treat.I have started to perfect cooking and have now done roasts as well as pizza. I dont review anything ever, so for me to do this is saying something. Awesome little oven !!!!

HiThis oven works, which means it can be heated to 400 deg C and hold to temperature long enough to cook a few pizza (~ 2 min cooking ).It is much harder to use than a typical ( much more expensive) Italian pizza oven, because this oven uses insulation for the dome and only heat bricks on the floor. So the it lacks thermal mass and is hence hard to keep stable at 400 deg. Also the bricks are low quality and it does NOT create a flat surface. (So your pizza peel gets stuck a lot, as every brick is bit lower or higher then the next, hence I use a pizza stone on top)Here are my recommendation to get the best out of this oven:- use a pizza stone on top of the floor to have smooth surface to peel the pizza ( don't use any barking trays, pizza goes straight onto ...Ā MoreHiThis oven works, which means it can be heated to 400 deg C and hold to temperature long enough to cook a few pizza (~ 2 min cooking ).It is much harder to use than a typical ( much more expensive) Italian pizza oven, because this oven uses insulation for the dome and only heat bricks on the floor. The first time I used it, I had the fire on the floor and the ash (blocking airflow) made it drop temp quickly ( only had it at 400 deg for ~ 10 min, enough for 2 pizza)- I also drilled some holes in back/bottom corner as an additional air intake ( there are similar models of competitors (more expensive) of this oven for sale with a bottom air intake, again this helps the fire to breath and burn hotter. After a few time use with some fine tuning the fire and with the above mentioned mods, I can now keep this oven stable at 400 deg for hours.see picture of pizza ;), I am happy !90 sec a pizza and it tastes amazing!!I also like the compact size of this oven compared to a bigger full brick version. So I recommend this one, if you are willing to work on the fire setup.kind regardsFlorian

I bought this oven as a test to upgrade later but wow this thing is awesome. These reviews are excellent and accurate. A fantastic oven, I have cooked great pizzas. Easy to use and heats up quick (allow 1hr-redgum) dont need to add too much wood to keep it going at 350c (a handful) and small strips. The bricks are uneven yes but not too bad, the pizzas turn easy, i throw down semolina before putting the pizzas in the oven Assembly is easy (1hr)- there are 3 boxes. I bought the outdoor cover too from pacific ($77). Overall its a good purchase

This will take your pizzas up a level. We've been making home made pizzas for years. Make our own dough, fresh toppings and fresh herbs. We use pizza stones and cook on our Weber, large gas BBQ and in our oven. Usually can get temps 270ā°-350ā° depending on what we use.I'm a tradie of 25yrs and a big man. But I'd recommend an extra set of hands for loading and unloading the boxes. And at a few times during assembly. It took about an hour to put together. I would recommend assembling the legs, sides, shelf, handle and wheels fully with lose screws before tightening anything.I brought it up to temp slowly on my first try but it will get up to 400ā°c in 20-30 min depending on what timber your burning. You will need a pizza stone because the floor is uneven. We were cooking small/medium pizzas one at a time in 90 seconds. I was literally counting to 90 while cooking them. I would also recommend gloves. I used welding Gauntlet's (long insulated gloves) and the hair on my arms above the gloves got singed. The fact that it's on wheels means I can move it from the back of our house to the front avoiding/following the sun and avoiding the clothes line! It's heavy to move around on the wheels.I found the other reviews to be very accurate.
Great pizza oven, it gets the job done but there are few problems in my opinion, so beware before buying. The fire bricks are uneven, you will need to spend some time to find the right arrangement but no matter what they will always sit a bit uneven. Someone else wrote a review and resolved this issue by buying a pizza stone so that the pizza will sit flat and won't catch onto the bricks when going in or out..There's no insulation in the door, or at the back of the oven. This little upgrade would have improved the oven efficiency a lot. The bricks are only half the normal bircks height you would expect. The door when open does not sit flat and it's not at the same level as the rest of the oven. That makes checking the food a bit harder; let's say if you want to ...Ā MoreGreat pizza oven, it gets the job done but there are few problems in my opinion, so beware before buying. The fire bricks are uneven, you will need to spend some time to find the right arrangement but no matter what they will always sit a bit uneven. This little upgrade would have improved the oven efficiency a lot. The bricks are only half the normal bircks height you would expect. The door when open does not sit flat and it's not at the same level as the rest of the oven. That makes checking the food a bit harder; let's say if you want to slide out the roast to the entrance of the oven to add potatoes, or add salt or what else. The way the door sits makes it very hard to achieve these simple cooking tasks, as you will have to move your food out of the oven, or put your hands inside the oven, in which case you should wear proper fire gloves as the temperature can be well above 300'. A little better design would have resulted in a way more usable oven. The oven it's easy to put together, however I'd recommend to spin the large box upside down before opening, as the first steps of the installation requires the oven itself to be upside down and the box with the packaging serve this purpose perfectly, but there's no mention of this in the instructions.Overall it's a great oven, I am having heaps of fun with it, but you get what you pay for. A few simple design improvements, slightly better fire bricks and insulation on front door and back would have made a way better product within the same price range.
There is a learning curve to use this oven. I add an extra ceramic fibre blanket to the door and the bottom. After half year, I know how to use it. Open the door to start to burn, until it reach 300 above. then close the door. The air will draw from the flue. after 30-:45 mins, the floor temp will reach 400 degree. Now it is time to cook pizza.Pro: 56*62cm floor, There is no competitor in this price. It can move, it has a door. Chimney is stainless steel.Cons: the brick is uneven. I replace some of the bricks so that the pizza peel won't stop when I move inside the oven. Chamber is metal, it too good in heat conductivity. the outer body can reach 110 degree. The Chimney is closed to the middle of the body rather than the front door. It's hard to reach above 430 ...Ā MoreThere is a learning curve to use this oven. I have had this a short time, but after seeing other reviews made some choices and at first firing I achieved 400C + and was able to hold it as long as I needed it. I put the fire at the side on a cary iron BBQ grid, put in a Matador rectangular pizza stone on top of the fire bricks, and let the fire build for quite some time - 2 hours plus. I have previously built my own pizza oven from fire bricks from the ground up and used it for 10 years so I have had a bit of experience. Other pizza ovens I have used have not ben able to get a crisp bottom as I would like, but this did from the first to last pizza at its inauguralfiring. Got a thumbs up from my wife as well. Great little woodfire pizza oven, it takes a bit of practice/trial and error. Well worth the money, great product. Recommend purchasing the cover to help protect the oven from the elements. I can see after a month we may need to paint the timber handle due to wet weather and mould, but other than that would recommend this product.
We bought this pizza oven approx. 3 months ago as an experiment as to whether we would use it enough to invest in a big brick oven. This exceeded our expectations and now we will stick with this one. Itās quick to heat up and our pizzas have been perfectly cooked. We have not ordered pizza since.Easy to assemble and has passed the dinner party test.
