Matrix Total Results High Amplify Shampoo (300ml)

I really wanted to love this shampoo, I love Matrix as a brand but this shampoo was a big NO for me. It smells great and lathered up really well but this shampoo left my fine, thin hair feeling SO dry and brittle. I felt like it sucked all the moisture out of my hair. I’ve tried it a few different times and it just makes my hair feel awful every time. And I feel it makes my dry scalp feel even drier.

Best All Round Shampoo

I've been using this shampoo for almost 20 years. I tried other shampoos from time to time, but nothing compares. I tried the Curly Girl Method for a while, but my hair was falling out. When I came back to this shampoo, the excess hair loss STOPPED! I learned from the CGM that hair either loves or hates protein, so maybe the ones who have hair loss with this shampoo should stay away from protein containing hair products.This shampoo lathers nicely, smells clean, and leaves my hair with body. Unlike most volumizing shampoos, it does NOT leave your hair in dry, unmanageable condition. Instead, it somehow leaves it tangle free and shiny, while giving volume, even without conditioner.I love this shampoo!

Hair fell flat and fell out!

This does exactly the opposite of what it claims to do! There are several reviews that say how "soft" this makes the hair. I'm declaring that this shampoo does this "softening" by slowly destroying everything that makes your hair strong. And then it falls out in clumps! Terrible terrible product. It's a little embarrassing to return used shampoo but that's what I'm doing with this overpriced hair destroyer. Thankfully Ulta's return policy allows this.

Major amounts of hair fall/ hair loss

I wish I had read the reviews before purchasing this. The other reviewers weren't kidding when they said this will make your hair fall out. For starters, my hair is naturally very oily and so it can take a stripping pretty decent. But by God my hair started to feel like straw after using this for one week. I never noticed any added volume, but quite the opposite; my hair has never felt thinner and it started to freak me out! I would notice a ton of fall out, so I decided to do a little test.So because I'm an insane person, I first completely cleared out and washed my brushes thoroughly, and took whatever fallout or hair that ended up in the brush, out of the brush and into a bag. I recently moved into a home with a water softener and my Matrix Mega Sleek was not performing as it previously did. I have had natural platinum hair since my mid-thirties and, as I've gotten older, it has become fine. This shampoo has definitely worked as I had hoped it would.

I had been using this product based on my stylists recommendation to add volume to my hair, which is very thinfine. The bottle my stylist provided me worked great. When that first bottle was gone, I noticed JCPenney also carried it in their salon, so I purchased two bottles on sale. After using it for a couple of months, my hair no longer had any lift or volume. In fact, my hair felt unclean even after washing. So I tried a very basic shampoo that I had on hand to test whether it was my hair or if it was the Matrix shampoo. Since the basic shampoo made my hair squeaky clean something I had not felt for a long time, the conclusion is that there is something wrong with this bottle of Matrix shampoo as it no longer cleans my hair. Decided to try this as part of the jumbo sale, and I am sooo glad I did. I have long, thinner, color treated hair, but a lot of it. Ive used all kinds of brands redken, AG, Bosley, Wella, you name it. NOTHING has ever made my hair as simultaneously smooth, soft, and voluminous as this shampoo and conditioner combo. The conditioner is nice and thick, so a little goes a long way, but it doesnt weigh your hair down. The shampoo REALLY cleans your hair almost in a clarifying type of way so I think the conditioner is a little thicker and extra moisturizing to compensate for that and make hair soft. Should definitely be used as a pair. I love that its a silicone free formula as well. I would absolutely recommend that this product be Avoided.Seriously, this made my hair Fall Out. Every time I took a shower at least 10 hairs would fall out of my head during the wash. UNREAL. Life is stressful, but not that stressful!!I am not a person who styles my hair ever, but I wanted my hair to have more "poof" to it, ya know? Not FRIZZ like I got. Also, i'm nearly positive that this product completely stripped my hair of all its natural oils, because in order for my hair to Not feel like hay I needed to use conditioner on the top of my hair too. & with fine hair like mine, that usually made me a greaseball by the end of the day.There is a chemical in it that makes your scalp have a higher risk of sunburn?? The best shampoo I have had in years!

I have combination hair, with oily roots and dry ends. Because of my oily roots I find the top of my hair usually falls flat, but most volumising shampoos will dry my ends out like crazy. This shampoo not only brought volume to my roots but my ends feel so soft and nourished. This is despite my ends being bleached! I will 100% be repurchasing both the shampoo and the conditioner
