I feel this product is superior to the others i have tried. It tastes good and goes down well with no concerns at all. Cost is my major concern and that's why I rated it a 2 on value. Without the 20% discount that I received I would not have bought this, I like it more than others BUT cost is a big factor!!

It would be nice to warn people about the texture. I almost immediately vomited during my first taste. I will continue to try to use it because it's going to be on the Ironman course, but the price is insane, the texture is almost unbearable and the taste is just passable to swallow.

This is a great product if you need more of a boost on that hard effort while taking in calories. Digestest easily and can feel the results within 5 to 10 minutes of a hard effort. So knowing your timing when you need the boost helps. I appreciate the Ironman discount as these gels are more expensive than others on the market.

These are fantastic gels . Took 1 with a salt stick every 6 miles in Manchester marathon and didn’t hit the wall whatsoever . Got a PB that day . Convinced they helped a lot . Expensive but very good product 👍
I tried the caffeinated gel at an Ironman race and am sold. I like the gel consistency and mild/lack of flavor. None of the sticky sweet goo that comes out of other packets. It also seems to fill me up better, like I've actually eaten something super digestible.
I tried Maurten gels before the Boston Marathon as this is what they give out during the race. I am so glad I did! I have had gut issues with several other gels but since I started using Maurten gels, I have no such issues, which is a great relief in a marathon! The consistency is slightly more jelloid than many other gels but is easy to swallow (or semi-chew) and is not sickly sweet like so many other gels. The gel and the drink come in caffeinated and non-caffeinated forms so you can pick and choose whether or not you want to add the extra kick of caffeine as part of your race plan. It's a brilliant product, highly recommended.
Like others, I have been through serious amount of 'gels' over the years. I tried these out for the first time this weekend. Must say, was very surprised at the decent taste & texture, not sweet, not runny, easy to digest and easy to get contents out while riding. Highly recommended
Maurten gels have a unique consistency - they are soft gels you can almost bite and not sticky or sickly sweet. I found the texture weird at first but like it now. The gels are unflavoured, which is also kind of cool. The caffeinated gel has a slightly bitter flavour compared with non-caf, but it is not unpleasant. Nomming one on an 18 km run this morning had me running up hills with a smile on my face. Would buy again.
I used this product during a 23 mile (fasted) long run, in preparation for a marathon. I was able to keep up my planned pace for the whole run (7:30 mile pace) These Maureen gels seem to have the right balance / consistency to take whilst on the move. I found them very easy to use and did not have any adverse effects during my run. I would thoroughly recommend them to anyone who’s looking for a quality energy gel that really delivers when needed the most.
I love these little beasties. The texture reminds me of jelly at a kids party. You can feel the boost in energy levels soon after taking them. (That could be the caffine!!) They dont spill because technically they are not a liquid like most other gels. You dont need water but hey, you can take them any way you want. I never go out on trail without any of these because I'm addicted to caffine and they satisfy my desire epecially on the long runs where the only coffee is your backpack.
