Maurten Gel 100 Caf 100 - Gels Box of 12
Energy capsulated in a natural hydrogel. Each serving contains 100 mg of caffeine and delivers 25 grams of carbohydrates. Built with seven ingredients – no added colourants, preservatives or flavours. The GEL 100 CAF 100 contains 100 mg of caffeine – that’s the equivalent of 1,5 espressos – or one cup of brewed coffee. That’s a lot compared to many of the traditional gels out there. It delivers 25 grams of carbohydrates through a unique blend of fructose and glucose (ratio of 0.8:1). It packs a high weight to energy ratio and doesn’t contain any added flavours, preservatives or colourants. Just like all of our products, it’s vegan-friendly. Use the GEL 100 CAF 100 on its own during shorter durations, or combine it with other Maurten products to ensure you have enough carbohydrates throughout your session.

I've been very happy with my experience with Maurten gels. Having tried other gels, I find these to be the cleanest I've used and I really like the slightly sweet taste. I tend to get tired of flavors quickly, but haven't had this experience using Maurten's gels and drinks. And a big plus for me personally has been the jello-like consistency. I wear Invisalign aligners and can't chew bars when I'm active, so the consistency of these is a perfect mix between being soft enough to consume easily and solid enough to not be a sticky mess in my mouth. I'd definitely recommend these!

If it works for Kilian and Eliud Kipchoge it will work for me, or maybe I just fell prey to Maurten's excellent marking strategy. So far I've been using both the caffeinated and noncaffeinated Maurten Gels for several months and have been happy with the results. Both gels have this slightly syrupy aftertaste to them but other than that basically have no distinct flavor, which I enjoy. With the consistency of jello, these have been a nice change of pace from the thick syrup-like texture of most other gels. Overall with just a handful of ingredients, and a good dose of caffeine Maurten Gels will most likely continue to be my go-to gels for some time to come.

I tried Maurten gels before the Boston Marathon as this is what they give out during the race. I am so glad I did! I have had gut issues with several other gels but since I started using Maurten gels, I have no such issues, which is a great relief in a marathon! The consistency is slightly more jelloid than many other gels but is easy to swallow (or semi-chew) and is not sickly sweet like so many other gels. The gel and the drink come in caffeinated and non-caffeinated forms so you can pick and choose whether or not you want to add the extra kick of caffeine as part of your race plan. It's a brilliant product, highly recommended.

These gels are virtually flavourless and super easy to get down on long runs! Didn’t notice any adverse effects, but super helpful to keep you going on longer runs! I do wish there was a bit more caffeine in them, as I didn’t notice a huge effect from the caffeine. The texture of the gels is great as well! Overall would definitely recommend and will be purchasing again.
Maurten gels have a unique consistency - they are soft gels you can almost bite and not sticky or sickly sweet. I found the texture weird at first but like it now. The gels are unflavoured, which is also kind of cool. The caffeinated gel has a slightly bitter flavour compared with non-caf, but it is not unpleasant. Nomming one on an 18 km run this morning had me running up hills with a smile on my face. Would buy again.
I love these little beasties. The texture reminds me of jelly at a kids party. You can feel the boost in energy levels soon after taking them. (That could be the caffine!!) They dont spill because technically they are not a liquid like most other gels. You dont need water but hey, you can take them any way you want. I never go out on trail without any of these because I'm addicted to caffine and they satisfy my desire epecially on the long runs where the only coffee is your backpack.

I used three of these in a 9am start marathon last weekend after zero hours sleep the night before. My first time using them. They did the trick. I took one 10 minutes before start then another at 15 miles and final one at 21 miles - I like the gel consistency and the caffiene kept me in a zone of concentration all the way without over stimulating (made sure I had no caffiene drinks that morning). Definitely using them again. Wot no taste!? They taste like sherbet- naturally. I really appreciate Run & Become selling individual packets (with a very long shelf life too - April '25!).
Although these are the first gels I've tried, I've been a runner for years. For this year's marathon training I thought I'd see if they made a difference and boy do they! I went from feeling wiped out and struggling to the end, to feeling like I could go further. The caffeine probably helps a lot as I'm a regular coffee drinker, so probably need it over the duration of the run - seems to make me much more able to focus on keeping my technique correct which I think has helped stop back pain on the longer runs.
I have used various gels for my running. They have ranged from the good, bad and ugly. Some have been so poor in taste, I have had to stop taking them before they are finished. Although the Maurten Gel's are a bit thicker in texture, for some reason I find them easier to swallow. The taste is fairly nondescript, which makes them perfectly palatable. In terms of performance, I haven't found anything better yet and will continue using them.
