Maxim Electric Deli Style Food Slicer 200W

Holy heck, I never knew I needed this but it is worth every cent. Never again will I have to fight to thinly slice chorizo! The slicer is easy to clean, even easier to use, and small enough to not be an eyesore in the kitchen. Perfect for anyone who loves a good kitchen gadget

Our Meat Slicer is terrific it cuts meat's just how you want them. Only fault is plastic handle which does not stop meat from spinning around. All good other wise.

This item perfectly complimented the Air fryer we bought and have used it for sliced meats to prepare for dehydrating. In addition we intend using it to dehydrate fruit and veg for storage. Easy to use, clean and store.

We ordered the above slicer through MyDeal and were really happy with the service and speed that you put our order through and we recieved the item.The problem came when my wife used it and a strong smell of burning was emitted from the machine which made her switch it off immediately. It has not Ben used since and I got in touch with My Deal customer service to report the problem.At present your Rep has sent an email to the supplier as a faulty item. We have yet to hear from the supplier for advisement. Very happy with My Deals dealing with the issue (sorry about the pun).

Not fit for purpose. Needs at least a 400 watt motor to cut cooked meat, Friction build up when slicing firm cheese No sliced product collection tray or place to put it.

Better than just a knife

Passable job considering low price point. We bought this to try slicing our our prosciutto and to see if we'd like to buy something decent in the future. The 200w motor is not ideal for the job but you can get a decent amount sliced in the 10mins of operating time as advised. We weren't expecting much considering the low price point so we weren't really disappointed. With a light hand and a bit of finesse you can get a pretty decently fine slice of prosciutto, it'd probably do a nice job with ham (softer) or salami (smaller). There's quite a lot of play in the sliding mechanism and it's nearly impossible to keep the machine in one place during operation on its own, so we placed a cutting board behind to brace it against the wall while gently pushing into each slice ... MorePassable job considering low price point. We'll buy a flat blade to replace the serated one supplied and that might help a bit too. Worth it for the newbie, but that's probably it.

Disappointing

I am so disappointed in this product and had I not broken down the box it came in I would have returned it. I bought it to mainly slice vegetables. The only vegetables it was able to slice through was tomatoes and zucchini. It got stuck part way through slicing pumpkin. There is no way it could cut cheese like it is advertised to do and I haven’t tried ham yet but I’m doubtful. It feels like either the blade is too blunt or there is not enough power at 200W to cut through anything with substance.

Food slicer

It should come with the non serrated blade to start with & not have to buy it after you realise it doesn't have one. The thickness adjuster does not stay in position you set it at as soon as there is any pressure from the food placed on the carriage. Have to physically hold it in place. Not very safe. Lucky I don't intend using it much as it's a bit of a lemon!

Great to use and a money saver

I bought this to save money by cutting/slicing my own foods. I make my own bread and this enables me to have lovely thin sliced bread I buy my ham and cheese uncut/shaved/shredded and this enables me to slice/shave my own ham and cheese. Good money saver while not restricting myself on how I want my food prepared.

Not good

The Maxim slicer lasted 3 minutes when I first used it. Smoke was coming out of it and a bad burning smell. Trying to get a replacement or refund.
