The original Forekaster was designed by Maxxis as a wet weather option for XC, while the new version is aimed squarely at modern short travel (100mm-130mm) trail bikes – aka the “downcountry” segment. Intended to be a “Goldilocks” tire, the new Forekaster rolls fast but also provides solid cornering and braking traction in a broad range of trail conditions. The new Forekaster connects and closes the gap between the fast rolling XC tires (Aspen, RekonRace, Ikon and Rekon) and the downhill-heavy profiles (Dissector, Minion DHF, DHR2 and Assegai) in the MAXXIS mountain bike portfolio. Maxxis envisions the new Forekaster as the perfect companion for long rides in a variety of terrains. When the Rekon is not enough, but a Minion is too much, take the new Forekaster!
