Maybelline Lash Sensational Sky High Mascara Very Black 7.2ml

This mascara was kind of a weird one for me. I love and hate it at the same time. I normally use the Milk Makeup kush mascara and have loved it since they launched it. The formula, yes, but specifically the brush. Upon trying this the first time, the appearance of my lashes was gorgeous- and the brown tone to the mascara itself really complimented my blue eyes with my fair complexion versus black, which can look too harsh on lighter makeup days. My lashes were long, lifted, thick and separated. They looked amazing. However, on my next try, they clumped together and it looked like I had maybe 5 spiky eyelashes sticking out of each eye. Like all day. There’s no flaking when it’s on or smudging of any kind. Once it’s on? It’s on. But also doesn’t seem to require any kind of harsh scrubbing at the end of the day to get it off, so I definitely wouldn’t call it water resistant by any means. Overall, decent mascara. And there are few better but a lot worse for the same price point.

This mascara tested beautifully for it’s claim of ‘sky high’ lashes. Product lengthens like a dream. Formula is a nice consistency…not dry but not overly wet. I typically have very sensitive eyes, but this did not cause any irritation at all. I’m not a fan of excessive coats, so 1-2 coats was very comfortable all day; felt like I was wearing nothing on my lashes. I was sent shade ‘True Brown’, which gave a lovely natural tone. The only complaint I have is the wand itself. The brush portion is very flexible to the point where I felt that it was awkward to use. It also does not do anything towards volumizing the lashes. Bought this waterproof mascara due to the high reviews. Tried it three times and then threw it in the garbage. There is so much product on the brush that even when I removed most of it on the edge of the tube it still gooped onto my lashes and made them look like tarantula legs. I had to take an eyelash comb and remove as many of the clumps as I could and even then it made my eyelashes look like Tammy Faye Baker's. If you're looking for totally unnatural, clumpy eye lashes then this is an awesome mascara, but it is one of the worst mascaras I have ever used and I have used a lot! If you're into the clumpy spider lashes look, this product might be your cup of tea, but sadly it's not mine. I love this mascara, it both lengthens and volumizes perfectly. It separates my lashes and there's no clumps. I've purchased this three times now. Couple things I noticed is that you have to use it a few times first when you get it in order to fully coat the brush and get the effect you're after. The other thing is that the opening of the tube gets a lot of mascara build up after a while, which can get messy. I remove the gunk with an orange stick, no problems. There's a reason this product is so highly rated: It rocks. I have beedy little pervert eyes, so I *need* mascara to open them up. Thanks to this product, I can finally swim without scaring my kids by looking like Tammy Fay Baker (Google her if you're too young to know her). Dove into the water multiple times and not a speck of mascara came off. It's magical. Will admit my lashes are not as thick as when I use L'Oreal's non-waterproof mascara. However, I'm so delighted to swim and keep my mascara on my lashes. Bravo!

Does make your lashes long

I'm not really sure what I think about this mascara. I had a sample of it about 6 months ago and I loved it so much. The full size is not as great for some reason maybe because it isn't as dry or there is way less product? Pros: It does indeed make your lashes sky high. And they seem to stay that way for the majority of the day. There is no fallout from this mascara on me and I take naps in it sometimes. I love the long flexible wand. Cons: The consistency makes my lashes stick together like spider legs. Now I know this can depend on how warm your area is where you keep your mascara, but for some reason this stuff makes my lashes so clumpy with one or two swipes. Having said all of this, I probably will not repurchase when there are other mascaras in this price point that are better for me.

I don’t know what went wrong with me, maybe a bad tube maybe it’s because I layered with other mascara product, I tried twice and it’s god awful. It clumps and my god it doesn’t build AT ALL. It starts removing a layer from before and my lashes are without mascara long and they’re naturally curved I don’t have to curl my lashes. This almost bends them inward and removed my natural curl. I hated how clumpy and ugly and short my lashes became from this mascara, 0 stars. This is the worst mascara I have ever used and I’ve used a lot of mascaras. I’ve actually been trying a new one every time I buy one recently because I’ve used the same cover girl lash blast since I was 14. Incredible formula that dries out quickly...

The only non waterproof mascara that I have tried that really holds a curl! I have naturally long lashes that are on the straight side so skipping the lash curler is a big fat no. Waterproof formulas hold shape better than regular formulas but I don’t like doing that to my lashes all the time (they also always transfer to my brow bone bc oily skin) so this has been a miracle! A new fresh tube is absolutely incredible but it dries out surprisingly fast and the formula starts to get disappointing from there. Pros: - Strangely good formula right off the bat from a fresh tube. Doesn’t need to dry out a little like many mascaras do before performing well. - Very defined, feathery, lashes - Holds a curl like waterproof - No flakes or crumbling with my oily skin - Easy to ... MoreThe only non waterproof mascara that I have tried that really holds a curl! Not worth the hype or price!

I will say that Maybelline is definitely a trusted brand for cosmetics, especially when it comes to mascara. I usually wear Snapscara, which is extremely affordable, goes on easily with excellent results & comes off in a cinch. However, the store was out of it, so I had to improvise. My teen daughter (who's a TikTok fan) loves SkyHigh & that's her go-to product. Her lashes always look fabulous, so I thought I'd give it a try, when mine wasn't in stock. First off, the price is about $4+ more than my regular brand which costs around $6, so plan to pay about $10 per tube. Most expensive out there? It went on clumped in some areas, then left other lashes barely coated, so the end result was very uneven, strange looking, unappealing lashes. It also smelled nasty, not an overpowering odor, but it was a bit unpleasant. It also is flaky, leaves your lashes feeling very dry & uncomfortable, as if they're almost like a wire brush surrounding your eyes. This product just wasn't for me! I haven't tried removing it yet, because it's my first time wearing it, but I've read in other reviews that it's not easy to take off either! I used this in Blackest Black & purchased it at a Dollar General store. I've also seen it available at Walmart. I would not recommend this, nor would I ever buy it again! I will suggest that you try the Snapscara by Maybelline instead. It goes on great, always looks awesome, doesn't smudge, clump, or dry out, is super affordable, easy to remove, long lasting, and very easy to apply, even for beginners! Snapscara is sold at many drug & department stores also such as Walmart, Dollar General, CVS, & Walgreen's. SkyHigh was more like GroundLow.

Superior formula: good waterproof for contact lense wearers

I have used waterproof mascaras for many years to help hold the curl in my naturally stick-straight lashes. Non-waterproof mascaras have water in them and that will pull the curl out immediately. You can either curl your lashes, then put on mascara, or put it on and let it dry, then use a heated metal eyelash comb to separate and lift the eyelashes (just be careful to angle slightly out from your eyelid). The problem with most waterproof formulas is that they contain disteardimonium hectorite (basically clay) which makes them flake into your eyes as they dry out. I have lost count of the times I had to stop wearing my contacts because the flakes caused minor scratches in my corneas and they were too irritated for lenses. I received the MAYBELLINE New York Lash Sensational® Sky High Washable Mascara from @thisisbutterly @chickadvisor @maybelline for FREE in exchange for my honest review.The first thing I noticed about this mascara is the flexible brush. It easily glides through lashes and even gets the tiny little lashes that are usually hard to get. The only thing I dont like is that the formula is very wet. If you do not wipe the bristles of the brush on the rim of the tube before applying it, it adds to much on your eyelashes which makes it clumpy and smudges.They advertise that this mascara creates volume, and they arent lying.
