Maybelline Volum' Express The Colossal Mascara - Glam Black

This is a pretty decent drugstore mascara. The wand is pretty basic. It's a decent length, thicker at the bottom and pointier at the top. It gives my lashes a lift, some curl, length and quite a bit of volume. My eyes instantly look more opened after one coat, but two coats really make my lashes look the best. This mascara does a great job of thickening my lashes and separating them without making them look clumpy. I did not experience any fall out or any smudging with this mascara either. I would definitely recommend trying Maybelline Volum' Express The Colossal Mascara.

I have used this mascara since high school, almost 20 years now! I still love it, I still haven't found anything that works better for me, and I still have yet found anything to complain about with it. I have worn it to the beach, to Las Vegas, Jamaica, several weddings funerals, and I have worn it the second day after sleeping in it!!! I know that's breaking one of the ten commandments in makeup, but I'm trying to be honest. I stayed at the hospital 2 nights with my mom, then she passed. I still havent fully accepted it, however, thru all those heavy tears and rough nights I wore this mascara. And not even waterproof. I love Maybelline mascara. I find the wand to me the best for application by far. Major volume! I always go for waterproof if I have the option so this was a great pick. Even the packaging is a win in my opinion! Would love to try in other colors if available. 2 coats and ready to go! Mascara is my one makeup product I always wear and this one can easily be and every day staple. Easy to remove but also lasted all day long. No tears today or swimming but it's definitely waterproof. Can't wait to try more Maybelline products in the future. Easy application and looks great so far. I tried it in black but would also wear brown for an everyday look. This one will stay in the makeup bag for the foreseeable future. Maybe she's born with it - Maybe it's Maybelline.

I’m not a huge fan of fake eyelashes and only wear them for a night out, so wanted to find a mascara that would give me the volume and bold looking lashes I craved, without having to apply lashes and keep up the maintenance. I mainly use this for when I’m going out for the night and doing a bold eccentric makeup look. It really boosts my lashes and makes my eye POP. I think this mascara brings out my blue eyes… I’m always getting compliments when I wear this product. This has been my favorite mascara for years!! It’s affordable, high quality, and doesn’t irritate my sensitive eyes. I have extremely blonde lashes, so they’re essentially invisible without mascara. The Maybelline Colossal mascara provides luxurious color, volume, and length that I wouldn’t otherwise have. The brush applies the product without clumps or mess while still giving my lashes fullness. It’s reliable and doesn’t transfer to my eyelids throughout the day, which is super important for me since I live in a hot climate where the summers melt makeup. Highly recommend for anyone searching for a reliable and affordable holy-grail mascara!!

Awful!

Bought this on a whim and expected a great product like the Great Lash mascara. This is horrible. The first thing I noticed was the smell- it smells like ammonia combined with glue. Really bad. I thought it was just maybe the first time I opened it but it’s every time. I bought this because Maybelline is a trusted brand and given the prices now, I thought I’d try a drug store product. $12 down the drain. Super disappointed and waste of money. Back to the higher end products- worth the investment. I may as well have lit $12 on fire buying this. :(

Burning Eyes Sensation

I have bought this mascara for years as it was my favorite, but just recently in the last 3 months I have bought 3 separate mascaras thinking maybe I had gotten an expired one at first. The first one was ok, but after a few hours my eyes began to burn. I took it off, and threw out my mascara. I purchased another at a different location, and had the same issue all over again. I then bought the waterproof oil base one and it was even worse. My eyes were burning after only a few hours of wearing it. I was driving and was having trouble keeping my eyes open from how horrible it felt. I had to park until I was able to see again and no longer had mascara on that would affect me.
