This lipstick has been advertised as being universally flattering for all skin tones, and boy they weren't exaggerating with that claim. I tried out #379 "Fuchsia For Me" and #385 "Ruby For Me" which are a pink and a red. I was really impressed with "Fuchsia For Me". When I read the name I was expecting one of those typically harsh neon pinks from a Barbie makeup set, but it was actually a really sophisticated, mid toned (like not too bright or too dark) cool based, true pink. It looks like a colour you'd find in classic editorial photos shoots. It's a shade that can easily worn for any occasion, from work to a wedding or just hanging out. The colour itself will not only compliment every skin tone, but work really well with bright colours in clothing, makeup and ... The colour itself will not only compliment every skin tone, but work really well with bright colours in clothing, makeup and hair. "Ruby To Me" is your classic 1950's Hollywood starlet red. It's a beautiful cool toned red that is literally in the perfect shade. \nThe pigment is rich in both colours with a medium coverage that is buildable. They were both in a creamy satin finish that felt very comfortable to wear. Although, being really creamy they don't wear too well. I had to reapply after eating and drinking (and talking for a while), but I find blotting my lips after applying helps it set and stay a little longer. As with most red colours, it does stain the skin after wearing it, but a decent cleanser or makeup remover will get rid of it. \n... Show more

I generally love Maybelline lip products, and this one is certainly a winner in my book! I was excited to see that they came out with a shiny lipstick--I've really had it with all of the matte lip products, and have been hoping that the tide would turn back to products that make your lips look soft and moist, not dry. Anyhow, I ordered three of these-mauve, chocolate and taupe. Mauve is my favorite of the three. It's just a beautiful color. The chocolate is more orange-ish than I would expect, on me anyhow, but I do still like it. The taupe is a really pretty and unusual tone that is different to wear. It is a bit of a slippery formula, not a creamy one like their original Color Sensational. At one time, they had some high shine shades of Color Sensational, but I ... It is a bit of a slippery formula, not a creamy one like their original Color Sensational. At one time, they had some high shine shades of Color Sensational, but I think these are softer and shinier than those. For the softness and slip that these have, they do have a decent wear time, however. Not what I would call LONG wearing, but decent wear time. They have a pretty shine, not a crazy, over-the-top lip gloss shine. I plan on trying the rest of the colors. I think they are just a great addition to a lipstick wardrobe for a very reasonable price.... Show more

I am in love! I was already a Maybelline devotee because their products are consistently good quality and at a really affordable price point. The New York Colour Sensational Made for All Lipstick (long name!) gets a five star review from me. I trialled two colours 385 'Ruby For Me' and 388 'Plum For Me'. Both glided on beautifully and were really highly pigmented with a hint of gloss but with the depth of a matte lipstick. I am tanned with dark brown hair and this is the first red I have been really impressed with, compared to another global brand which also has a 'universal red' which suits everyone. This is almost half the price of that brand and is equal of quality. 385 is a beautiful red, not too pink and not too orange and can be worn day and night. 388 is not ... MoreI am in love! For me, it's more of a night time shade ( rich deep plum with a burgundy undertone) but I wore it today during the day with a paired back outfit of white tshirt, jeans and a leather jacket and received a couple of compliments on the lippy! So, I think it's also suitable for day time wear with a simple outfit. I am now going to buy the remaining shades (there are 6 in total). LOVE LOVE LOVE 5 stars. Oh I forgot, also not drying on the lips even after about 6 hours wear with one reapplication after eating.... Show more

I’ve always loved the amazing and vast ranges of formulas that Maybelline carry. These lipsticks do not disappoint. They are creamy, pigmented, and they last a substantial amount of time on the lips. The shade “Mauve for me” is my favourite type of nude – a very wearable pinky brown. With my medium-tan skin this shade definitely has the “my lips, but better” vibe to them. I love that Maybelline is going after a universal shade range, it’s going to make lipstick browsing easier for all of us.\n\nI find that if you blot the lipstick after application there is not a real need to use lip liner underneath, though lip liners are always a great safety net. This is definitely travel friendly and an easy on the go lipstick to throw on whenever you need or want it. I don’t ... I don’t find the smell of the lipstick off putting in anyway, if anything it reminds me of chocolate (or I could just be out of it).\n\nPackaging wise it has a clean exterior with the coloured lid matching the actual product. I do prefer this style so that I don’t have to keep flicking the product upside down to see the shade name or open the product completely. I do appreciate this small detail. Though $17.95 is pricey for my affordable tastes, I would definitely pick up a few on a sale.\n\nYou can’t go wrong with this formula!\n... Show more

This is such a nice shade. It’s perfect for your skin tone in the summer. It makes your lips stand out. The pigment is a nice soft peachy pink color. The price can be a little pricy for just one. That why I like to bye a Milo pack with 4 in it. The texture is very beautiful. It has that little hint of moisturizer in it that make my lips even more hydrating.... Show more

Really like this shade. I have medium-bright pink hair and it looks great with it. I also have two lip piercings on each side and wear hoops. I used a lip brush and applied directly after using the brush on the lip stick. I would just maneuver the rings around never had to take them out. Even stayed on/dried great and didn't get all over my lip rings! It was my first time and I think it came out great IMO! No judgments as I'm no artist and literally never do lipstick because I've never found a shade to try. Will definitely try other colors from this brand.See less... Show more
