Accurate temperature???? Hmmm

I love the idea of how the MEATER works, but the idea is only great if it actually works the way it is supposed to. The internal meat temperature of one of the first two temp probes from my MEATER block records ambient temperature 30 degrees higher than the second MEATER sensor on the same smoker at the same time. I think it is defective right out of the box. Who do I do a warranty claim thru?I bought this for it’s supposed accuracy and convenience. Quite disappointed.

Great Product - Does not always stay on when it starts cooking

The product is excellent, but there are a few minor issues:1. I can't figure out how to reset a cook or stop a cook manually. When I start a new cook, sometimes the App just continues on with the last cook.2. Sometimes the product will turn off once a cook has started. It appears that it does not know that it is in the beginning of a cook and has gone into power save mode. I upgraded the firmware on the unit, let's see if this solves the problem.

Mixed experience with the Meater Block, but mostly positive. The positives are:- WiFi connected, which means that I can track and get notified wherever I am connected to my home system. And linked up with my Apple Watch is a bonus.- Four probes enable me to cook to different steak doneness to suit guests' preferences. The negatives are:- The block has to be quite close to the probes for them to be connected, so can't have BBQ and the oven using the probes concurrently (which was one of the reasons I bought the Meater Block)- Probes in a microwave oven running on convection (i.e. used as an oven, not microwave) does not connect to the Block even when place next to it. That's because the probes are live when not charging, and get discharged. Shouldn't be a problem if using batteries instead of micro-USB to charge.Still, overall, I am quite happy with the Meater Block now that I have got accustomed with how to get the best out of it.

So many things I loved about this product. Then I used it. The 2 out of 4 probes that actually read anything close to the real temp disconnect constantly. For the other 2, one reads super low and the other low. I've used 2 different probes to verify. Customer service at Meater hasn't got back to me. Their customer service sucks pretty bad. Can't even call and talk to someone. Doing a return and never looking back. If u do serious smoking skip these clowns products.

My first use of my
5 January 2023

My first use of my meater block I completed trusted it with 4 beef tenderloins. They all finished within 50 minutes of each other despite looking the exact same. All perfectly and identically cooked! Build quality is flawless. The order process was easy. On delivery you can track the delivery on a map. I would give it 5 stars, although I find that I need to restart the app a few times every cook as I loose connection to my probes. This doesn't affect the cook or probe setup. When it does stay connected it works flawlessly!

Not worth the money.

The range from the probes to the block is terrible. I have the Meater Cloud setup, but still can’t monitor my cooks outside my WiFi network. Since the second cook, the probes randomly disconnect from the block. I keep the flat spot on the probes, the charging points on the block as well as the probe itself clean. The battery life on the block is terrible. I’m lucky to get 3 hours out of a fully charged block. I’ve replaced the batteries with non-rechargeable batteries, and still don’t get through a full brisket cook without the block dying.

Have used my Meater Block a couple times now. Undecided if I am that happy with them. The app is very nice.Love the concept of wireless probes.Had issues with block disconnecting from wifi rendering it useless as I was away from home with ribs and pork shoulder on my Primo XL. I did find if I hooked it up to a power supply vs batteries the connection was more stable.Probe needs to be inserted in meat to avoid damage to it. Was hoping to use it to monitor ambient temp while bbq is warming up but this requirement will limit is usefulness as well.Probe itself is very thick. Understandable given the fact it has a transmitter in it as well, but will limit its usefulness in thin cuts of meat.I think the advantages of wireless will outweigh the negatives, but I am a ... MoreHave used my Meater Block a couple times now. Unsatisfactory performance for price.

Fully charged probes lose connection sporadically in each of my bbqs; Weber kettle, smoker, and lpg bbq. MEATER block loses power too quickly. Wireless mode fails to update phone app consistently. I find myself constantly second guessing this device and reverting to the tried and true wired probes. MEATER probes are too thick for thinner cuts of meat.I regret this purchase unfortunately.

Worked perfect first time out of the box.

A very slick and intuitive device. Downloaded the app, charged the unit, synch it to my devices without any problems. First test was on some rib steaks. Sizzled both side first, then inserted probes and finished them on the main bbq. Set the alert temps and walked away. The different degree of “done” for each steak came out perfect. Took all the guess work out of getting them just perfect. Thanks Meater!

Works. Wireless convenience. Maybe not BBQ competition quality.

Wireless is fantastic. I'm not sure it's a better unit than the Thermoworks Signals I'm trying to replace though. BT signal is very weak, you need to put the base right next to the BBQ, which is fine unless its raining.Probes are quite thick. For a large cut this isn't a problem, but thinner cuts like a trout fillet are too thin to support the probe. The time until done is a really nice feature, but I haven't see it work yet. It's probably good on longer cooks. It hits desired temp while still not having a predicted finish with one exception when it did say 5 minutes until done - then "Done" 30 seconds later.
