Medik8 is the best of the best. A pleasure to use without irritation. If you do a bit of research into how retinol is converted into retinoic acid (the good stuff) then you will understand why a retinal is superior to a retinol. If you’ve tried prescription Retin A and don’t like the downtime or uglies, then this is possibly the next best thing you could use. The whole of the Medik8 range is amazing but there’s a reason why this is a cult product. I started on this level 6 without an issue and have just moved to 10 again without any irritation. I’ve been on lymecycline for the past year for cystic spots on my chin and general breakouts, even when taking this I suffered from monthly breakouts (it was hormone acne that I got when I turned 19). I came off this medicine after bad side effects and was wary of more medicine, so at a dermatologist’s recommendation I tried this. It is a miracle worker. Effective especially long term

I've been using Crystal Retinal for about 5 years now, and recently started strength 10. I am generally fairly lazy with my skincare but this is the one thing I remember at night as it seems to tackle every issue in one easy formula. I have never had a bad reaction to it at all, either on first use or when going up a strength because the formulation is so good. This serum has definitely smoothed the texture on my forehead and brightened my skin. It hasn't completely got rid of my signs of aging, but I am sure it's significantly slowed them down, and people never believe I'm the age I am. Medik8 Crystal Retinal 1 is the entry level product in the range. I have previously used gentle retinol products like Luna and I have very sensitive skin. Having not used retinal before I introduced this slowly again into my routine. As my skin is so sensitive I normally only use a retinol at most twice a week and started using this once a week. The retinal is a pale yellow lotion it is stronger and a little more drying on my skin but using a good rich moisturiser on top easily prevented any dryness. In terms of results its very effective my skin is much smoother, pores minimised and fines lines less noticeable. I have been using this for months now and 1-2 times a week is still enough for my skin with no irritation at all, once I apply a hydrating layer on top. I have been on the hunt for a new retinol cream inclusive of an upgrade on dosage. In all my research Medik8 was highly recommended especially by dermatologist; I’ve also seen them in a lot high end spas so I said let’s give it a try. My first attempt wasn't so successful as I ordered the wrong version (I am not sure how that happened but I had very much difficulty navigating the website to find the product I was looking for in particular). The return process was even more grueling to the point I had to follow up on my return costs. Anyway I said, I‘ll give it another try.
