Meguiar's Air Re-Fresher (New Car Scent)

This is the only brand of car air freshener I can always rely on! I absolutely love these. I’ve tried many of the scents and they all smell great! This stuff really works, if there is any odor in your car it will be wiped completely out and won’t return. Some other air fresheners just cover up the scent and then when the air freshener dies down the odor is still there but that’s not the case with Meguiars! This scents lasts for about a month before slowly going away but it still leaves your car smelling nice and clean! I will buy this product over and over again

Got rid of the smoke smell!

I recently bought a used GMC Acadia that after several days I realized was a smokers car. Unfortunately the dealership methods of cover up quickly faded. After an entire Saturday of scrubbing every inch of the interior there was still a lingering odor of smoke. I tried this product and WOW what a difference! The jury is still out on the “new car smell” but the smoke smell is gone. Anxious to see if it lasts…

It works

Highly recommend, let someone use my Kia Sportage for a day. They smoked in the car and transported dirty laundry soaked with cat urine. I tried Febreze, Lysol spray and aired the car out for a day and nothing worked. Tried this product and it worked great. Followed the instructions, very easy procedure. After two weeks the car still smells like new . I did replace the cabin air filter afterwards. Would purchase again if needed.

My first can I bought from AutoZone for $7 for my mother's 2012 Malibu which was a rental before she bought it. She spent a year putting coffee beans and air fresheners all over her car. She even brought it back to the dealer several times. One Maguires bomb and a new air filter did the trick. It's been several months and the initial smell of the product is very light but the horrible cigarette and body odor of the rental car is gone forever. Anyone who says the smell doesn't last long is talking about the initial overpowering smell to kill the bad odors. The bad odors don't come back. My car doesn't always smell like the strong perfume it had at first but every time I get it it smells nice - subtle but wonderful.I bought a bunch of new car bombs on home essentials direct for $5 and use them in my kids friends cars (OMG - ever smell rotten food, gym clothes and zoo animals together). They love it. If you want your car to smell like a brothel this isn't the car freshener for you. Also, thank God they don't have vanilla that I know of because that always smells like old French fries after a while. Please don't ever put food smells in you car. It's nauseating. You can't go wrong with Maguires products. I added a pic of my car so you can see I only use the best products. Also, Maguires hasn't asked my opinion or offered me any product or monetary compensation.

Re-Fresher did not work

Follow up to my previous review. Re-Fresher only masked the previous wet odor and did not eliminate it as advertised. It's been less than 2 weeks and the original odor has returned as the stale cologne stank of the Re-Fresher is wearing off. I blame myself for thinking this stuff was going to miraculously fix my problem but dopy me. I need to pull up all of the carpeting and find the source of my wet smell as trying to mask it is not the answer. Maybe this would work for replacing smoking odor instead of what I have. Even 3 treatments with an ozone generator did not work either.

SMELL the sticker

I blind purchased this while reading through the reviews of this product since the Accord Euro I had baught had a distinctive smell to it, I spotcleaned the car and followed the instructions of the bottle. But the SMELL of the "new car" is horrid. Wish I took the extra 10 seconds to smell the scratch sticker to get a sense of what it would smell prior to opening. If you do see this review and was considering this product please smell the sticker before using to avoid the same mistake.

I have mixed feelings about this product and I'll try to break down my rating by category below: Scent Pleasantness (2/5) - I was not impressed with the Spiced Wood Scent. Its a bid hard to describe but the closest thing would probably be a cheap aftershave. My wife quickly pointed out my car now smelled like her grandfather. It was a gamble selecting this scent and next time I'll play it safe and go with something like New Car Smell. Scent Duration (3/5) - This was the one area that was really disappointing to me. For someone who doesn't drive with their windows down I was expecting the scent to last a bit longer than this. Effectiveness (4/5) - While my car didn't smell horrible there was definitely a lived in odor. I will say this effectively removed that and, even though the pine scent has faded, I get no more odd lingering odors. So that is pretty much my three major areas I thought important to point out. All in all I was satisfied but there is definitely room for some improvement. For now, I would give this product one more try in a different scent before trying a different brand/solution.

Works fast, smells amazing! New car leather scent

My husband did this for me. It helps especially if you smoke or just that funky odor especially after a hot humid summer. Notice the smell of the car on “recirculate” ? It is when the cabin’s air is recirculating button is on.If you turn it off, fresh air comes in.Often times you can ask a mechanic or research your make and model of car to replace that cabin filter. Not the oil filter but the interior cabin filter! It helps so much. But in between service check ups, use this stuff! It smells amazing!My husband LOVES the new car scent. It smells like leather. Clean and smooth, not perfume me but exactly like you just drove the car off the lot and that’s his favorite. I just ordered two more of these. Thanks!

Works, BUT replaces odor with its own scent

My sunroof drain was a little plugged and some water backed up into the passenger foot well and the carpeting and pad got wet. When I pulled up the carpeting to dry it along with it came a musty smell. Once dried the smell remained. Used the atomizer and it worked great. BUT, the musty smell is now replaced with what smells like stale cologne. Tried an ozone generator 3 times to get rid of the new smell and that only lasted about 10 minutes. Called Meguiar's to she what they recommend to get rid of that smell and they reported they had nothing. So, if you use this, it does work, but be prepared for another smell. It will take months for this smell to finally get down to the point where I can get in the car without first airing it out for 5-10 minutes.
