There's something really weird about the sizing of this style. At first i bought a size 10, i'm usually a women's 9.5 AU or a 41 EU and your sizing system suggested i get a 9.5 but because this style says to size up, i went for a 10. They arrived in good time but were WAY small, toes squished at the end. So I contacted the shop, sent a pic of my feet on the inlay and they suggested i order an 11. I said are you sure? Not just another half size? And she said definitely go for an 11. Seems crazy to me, i've never ever been a 10, let alone an 11! So i ordered them, by the time they arrived i was so stoked to finally be able to wear my shoes and just took them out for a walk. They seemed a good size, maybe on the big side, they instantly felt comfortable all round, a very good shoe, nice bounce in the sole, not too much, a firm grounded sole but not to thin or too thick or too airy/bouncy. I love them. BUT the 11 is definitely a half size too long for me. My feet are slipping front to back, or theres too much extra toe length. So now i'm stuck with a too big shoe and they are wearable but i really want them to be the right length so i can run without extra toe length catching when i lift my feet. Its a bit disappointing. Might try to sell them to a friend and get myself a 10.5.

I've been rocking my primal pursuits (in nocturnal ninja, as they should be) for over a year now, and I couldn't be happier. When I first got them, I was a little apprehensive as I typically go for flexible, minimalist, lightweight shoes, and these seemed slightly chunkier than what I usually opt for. I couldn't be more impressed. These things are comfortable, flexible, and let you feel the surface you're on while providing enough support and cushioning to keep your joints lubed for an extra decade. They are a perfect balance between minimalist and supportive. And they last! I use my shoes hard. Super comfortable, super durable, super superb. These were my first experience with Lems shoes, and I am very impressed. I can't wait to get into my next pair!

These are almost perfect. I love the width of the toe box, the lack of arch, the wide sole that isn't rounded like the Primal 2, the added cushion and thickness. They feel almost like the Nine2Fives, which I think are my most comfy shoes ever. The Orion blue is nice - attractive dusty blue color, not garishly bright but also not too dark a navy. Soles are very grippy.Slight issues:1. Sizing. I'm usually 11; I have Primal 2 and Nine2Five in 11.5, and I got the Primal Pursuit in 11.5. They were too small, and the front of the upper was too tight and sloped backwards, so my toes were being crushed. Easy return and replaced with 12s, and they fit. Insole: the included removable insole feels like it has a 1-2 mm heel drop, not zero. I can feel it in my heels and also in my knees, which get strained and sore with a heel drop. Without the insole, the shoe is flat, but there's less cushion for me poor old feets and knees. I'm hopeful that other Lems insoles will resolve this.3. Despite the mesh, they're pretty warm on the feet. For some of y'alls this will be a good thing; for me with my warm feet, I wish they were cooler. Still waiting for Lems to make some open sport sandals : )Overall, despite these issues, I'm very pleased so far. Looking forward to hiking in them this weekend. Thanks, Lems!

I've been wearing my Primal Pursuits (Orion Blue) for about 1.5 years now. I've had Primal 2s, and I also currently have Primal Zens.I have used them to what I would consider quite a heavy degree. They've been on hikes, camping, on soft terrain, on hard rocky terrain, through mud, rain, snow, ice... I'm currently in Patagonia where they've been my primary shoes for everything down here.I originally ordered them with the idea that they were "Primal 2s, but tailored more for the trail". They might be the closest trail-oriented shoes that fit that description, but they are no Primal 2s. They are tighter both horizontally and vertically. They simply don't have the same comfort and "perfect" feel for my feet that the Primal 2s had, and that my Primal Zens currently ... MoreI've been wearing my Primal Pursuits (Orion Blue) for about 1.5 years now. They might be the closest trail-oriented shoes that fit that description, but they are no Primal 2s. They are tighter both horizontally and vertically. They simply don't have the same comfort and "perfect" feel for my feet that the Primal 2s had, and that my Primal Zens currently have.I've also continually had an issue with the lacing and tongue on the left shoe. The tongue will, over time, shift leftward until it is rotated about 45 degrees out of position. I have not been able to fix this. I've tried lacing the shoe again with the laces alternating the opposite direction. I've tried a tight heel-lock during hikes. No matter what, the tongue will shift. If I leave it in place like that, it eventually feels like the blood circulation is reduced to my left foot. This is not a completely huge problem because it has an easy workaround (tug the tongue back into position every 15-30 minutes while hiking), but it is nevertheless annoying and another knock against it compared to the other Primals. Neither my Primal 2s nor my Primal Zens have this issue. The positives is that they are definitely more durable than Primal 2s for hiking, and they have much more grip to different surfaces. That's about it. Those are pretty important, but even with them, I enjoyed hiking in Primal 2s more simply because they were "perfectly comfortable".I think a big issue is that these use a different last than the 2 and Zen. They both use the "Widest" Lems last, while the Pursuit uses the "Wide". I'm sure there was a technical or logistical reason for not having the same last in this Primal compared to the others, but I really, really wish it were the same... or whatever else would be required to change to get them to have the same feel as the 2 and Zen. Whenever I put on my Primal Zens, they simply feel right. Much more comfortable than the Pursuits.Maybe one day Lems will create a "trail" shoe that is truly the same fit and feel as the Primal 2s and Primal Zens. Maybe they already have, and I just received a defective pair... or this review is of an outdated pair and they've improved them since I bought mine. Who knows.
I have tried so many walking shoes, but nothing was working. I have pain from Morton’s Neuroma , flat feet, and need a wide toe box but not a wide heel. I don’t run anymore, but do walk about 5 miles per day, usually in a sandal because my feet hurt when the toe box is closed. I had previously tried various brand barefoot minimalist shoes , orthopedic running shoes and etc., etc., etc. -/ all found happy homes at the local woman’s shelter. I don’t like the total barefoot feel as there are quite a few rocks where I walk. I had a text chat with customer service, and ended by buying the Primal Pursuit which has a slightly thicker sole than Primal— (But less thick than hiking shoes). I love these shoes! I work construction 50 hours a week and I’m on my feet all day. I’ve never liked wearing boots to work and I’m always looking for a better work shoe. I just found it. These shoes are light and breathable, similar to an ON Cloud shoe level of breezy (though not quite as light, they are more hefty and protective). They also have the perfect amount of cushion for my foot. I’ve been using shoes with memory foam for years and these are WAY more comfortable. My last shoes kept slipping on roofs. These shoes were like an ATV on an 8 pitch roof (it’s steep). Feet felt secure and sure footed the whole time. The fit oddly reminds me of when I broke in my Alden boots. They just fit the right way. I love putting them on in the morning! As for durability, I’ve been wearing them for a month of work now. I build custom houses in Northern Wisconsin, framing, roofing, siding, etc., so I put my shoes through some serious stress at work (and rely on them to keep me from falling to my death) and they don’t show a single sign of damage yet. I’m sure they’d be a great hiking shoe as well! Or just general wear shoe.
My co-worker recommended I try a pair of Lems. We work in retail and are on our feet all day on concrete floors. Although they do not have super thick cushioning, they are really comfortable. I used to wear Hoka One One shoes, but because of the thick soles, I kept rolling my ankles. I have not once rolled my ankles in these! I did need to get used to it for a couple of days as the soles of my feet were achy and tired after 8 hours on my feet, but as my feet got stronger it was no longer an issue. My only complaint is that after only six months, the inside of my heels have holes in them. I have had hundreds of pairs of sneakers and never have I had this issue, some of them I've worn for a couple of years and still have not had this issue. Already owned and love Primal 2 and Trailheads, so I thought I would try these. Better traction was appreciated, but way, way too much cushion. I decided to try taking the insoles out - SO MUCH BETTER! Unfortunately after about 30 minutes of walking I get tremendous pain in my left ankle. I thought I had sprained my ankle so I took a week off. This is the only pair of shoes I own that hurt my foot like this - weird. The right foot if I step on something like an exposed root or rock under the arch, something pokes through the footbed and punctures the bottom of my foot... Something ain't right here. Really, really wanted these to be the ones, but something is wrong with these shoes.Oh, and the material in the heel cup started wearing out after 4 wears. Most shoes I buy have a break in period, the Primal Pursuit (PP) didn’t need this, I was a little surprised because my foot width usually means even wide shoes typically need some but not these puppies.I have to say that I am enjoying these immensely so far. I haven’t hiked far, or used them on very rough terrain so far but a some light bouldering and a quick walk on sandy gravelly paths has allowed me to gauge the level of traction in dry conditions as high. The most pleasing feature that I have experienced is the very breathable nature of the mesh uppers. We have had some hot weather and I haven’t found these to be the slightest bit warm on foot. In fact even after being on my feet all day, my feet are still dry and not sweaty. After doing a lot of research and speaking with a customer service representative about the primal pursuit, i bit the bullet and placed an order for my "Fred Flintstone" feet. Received my order for the primal pursuit yesterday...i was so excited because the size chart states that the wide fit is a 2E width and that is my size. I ordered the morning dew color way and followed the suggestions for ordering a half size up based on recommendations. The length was ample but the width was in no way a 2E...or at lease when compared to brooks or new balance. For reference, I tried the shoe on with the thinnest sock i could find and it was still tight and my outer toed were squeezed...no way i could have worn a sport sock or hiking sock. That being said, the quality of the shoe is great and i think it looks better in person then on the photos. I really like the morning dew color....very pale grayish green but not dirty looking...very clean. Many sites say that Lems are the widest shoes out there...after trying this pair...I'm not so sure. so sad, i really wanted these to work and was hoping to get the boulder summits as well. Lems, if you begin making these in a true 2E width, Ill come back and try again.
The Primal Pursuit features the same fit and feel as the Primal 2, but with a bit more oomph, like the Trailhead/Mesa. The new Trail Traction Outsole provides more grip on the trail, with a slightly higher stack height, providing a bit more cushion for more sensitive feet, yet they won’t weigh you down. The new Trail Traction Outsole provides more grip on the trail, with a slightly higher stack height, providing a bit more cushion for more sensitive feet, yet they won’t weigh you down. Think of the Primal Pursuit as a hybrid of the Primal 2 and the Trailhead/Mesa. ;) The lightweight materials include an air mesh upper that allows for maximum air flow to wick away moisture and keep you presentable for a post-run brewski. The Primal Pursuit features the same zero-drop heel and wide toe box as the Primal 2 that allows the toes to behave like they are meant to - free and splayed.
