31miles in a day
I used them for a mix of running and walking over 31miles. I've used sealskinz with their shorter waterproof socks and they are perfect, comfy over long hikes and keep your feet dry no matter what. This time the weather was drier than expected so I can't comment on the waterproofing. The comfort was marred by the tightness of the waterproof seal. After 4 hours I had to roll them down to my ankles and had a total relief of pain when I did. I think the problem is the waterproof seal is still ankle sized but half way up the leg which is much thicker.I will definitely buy more sealskinz in the future but I will buy the ankle height socks.... Keep your feet dry for a while( everything leaks in after a certain point) I gained a small blister from the hydrostop band at the top but this is probably because of the 40k hike they were used on. Overall they're good. Best waterproof socks about just wouldn't use the hydrostop ones on long journeys again... Show more

Decent socks with some (personally unexpected) drawbacks - mixed feelings
The socks do repel water! That's the good part. However, they don't last too long on a wet bike ride and the feet do get moist and with time wet after all (even with 5-10 waterproof pro flat pedal shoes). So I would rate them with 2 stars, but I give them a plus for the rubber on top, which makes them stay in place and prevent them from sliding down over time gradually. A big plus! However, the feel of the sock inside is quite strange. They don't snug your foot as other socks do and this feels weird to me. The "all-weather" version does NOT ensure warm feet below 15° Celsius. So in case you're looking for winter socks - I think that's not the version for you. Overall I am a little disappointed, but maybe I had too high expectations to start with. Unfortunately, I've ... Unfortunately, I've ordered 2 pairs right away to save shipping costs. My suggestion hence would be to try them. By the way - the customer pre-sale service is lousy as well. I would deduct 1 star just for that, but ... the socks DO repel water, so it's about the product in the end... Show more

Definately not 100% waterproof
Was given these mid length socks with hydrostop as a birthday present for winter mtb. After the first ride I thought my feet felt damp. Maybe it could be sweat. During the second ride which was much wetter after my shoes were soaking I could feel my toes were soaking. When I got back to the car and took them off they were very wet inside especially at the bottom were my shoes were wettest. So water not coming in from the top. These are a very expensive pair of socks and are no better than the cheaper ones I had previously. 100% waterproof is a false claim. Very unimpressed.... Show more

Didn't keep my feet dry
I bought these socks to wear to play golf. My golf shoes are no longer waterproof, and I bought the Sealskins socks believing they would keep my ffet dry despite the leaking shoes. Alas, this was not the case. So I am very disappointed having paid £30 for the socks.... Show more

Do as advertised
I used these socks as an extra pair of socks (just in case) for my Hadrian Wall walk in England. When I encountered a flooded tunnel, I put on my Sealskinz socks + walking shoes and walked through the water. My feet were dry when I arrived back at my B&B! I have EU size 42 and size M has a good fit.... Show more

Good hiking socks with the waterproof extra and a small but
Good socks. They do what they say on the tin. I was pleasently surprised how good these socks are for hiking itself. Very comfortable. They are my first choice for hiking now.The reason why I give 4 instead of 5 stars is the Hydrostop. Probably my socks are a little to loose around my leg or I've got too manh hairs. Recently I've got wet feet after going in water deeper than the socks are high. So, the Hydrostop doesn't really work (for me). But, fortunately, that added extra is not so expesive so I' not upset. It is only something that I have to consider in future (never let water get above the top of the socks).... Show more

Great sock, hydrostop created blisters
Great sock, wore them all day in an open sandle while in a boat doing a guided smallmouth bass fishing trip. Warm day but I could dip my feet in the water to cool them down while keeping dry. I hardly moved about all day, only standing an sitting in the boat. Only walked a little from vehicle to boat and out of boat three times for breaks along the river. Feet stayed dry all day. I rated low only because the Hydrostop caused my skin to blisher around my calf. It looked like I had a sun burn ring around each calf. Blistered and took 7-10 days to finally clear up. Not sure if this is a common issue or just me.... Show more

Sealskinz?waterproof socks
The rain arrived so I headed out with my waterproof coat, leggings. and the sealskinz socks with the hydrostop mid calf. It was about 16 degrees with light to moderate rain. After the first couple of kms my toes felt damp. Towards the end of the 9km walk, having gone through some puddles my feet felt damp. I wondered if it was sweat or water coming through. So the next day having dried out the socks I wore them in the 20 the degree heat for about 7km. My feet didn't feel damp from sweat. So to test them another way I filled the laundry tub with water, put them on my hands and dunked them in. My hands felt dry. Then I moved my hands around in them for a few minutes to replicate movement. The same amount of dampness returned as when I'd been walking in the rain. They ... They never got more than damp inside even though sopping wet on the outside. It would be interesting to see whether waterproof shoes with standard socks and overtrou would stay drier. The sealskinz socks are very soft and comfortable underfoot. I will take note of how long that softness lasts. The soggy socks took over 24hrs to dry. I will continue to monitor their performance. Happy days :-)... Show more

Waterproof All Weather Mid Length Sock with Hydrostop Black / Neon Yellow / L
I ordered 2 pair, of your sock/products. Most recently took a trip down the Colorado river through the Grand Canyon. I also had a rubber paddle footware that I put over my Sealskinz socks. I am hear to tell you that day one and through day seven my feat were wet . Not so much cold but very wet. The socks did fry out overnight but same result for the next seven day. So it is my expectation that when I purchase a product and it states that the product is waterproof, that it is really waterproof. That my thoughts. And by the way, the water temperature in the river was at least 50 degrees. More than chilly.... Show more
