They work for my purposes. I wear them frequently in this season. Comfortable, easy to put on, kept feet dry and warm on walks on city streets, park bark paths and grassy meadows. Gave a 4 instead of a 5 because I had to modify the laces on the front of the boot by pulling the top loops up and tying a knot in order to get the right fit for the mid foot. The toggle on the back works fine for that part of the foot and I will get some toggles for the front lacing to make the adjustment more precise. If toggles make it easy to tighten the mid foot fit I may try them on slightly more difficult terrain.

Super comfy new snow/winter boots for me. I needed something to wear to work in the cold. I thought these were kinda cute and would do the job. Getting lots of compliments on them too! Managed to snag these during an after Christmas sale. #winning. I think these will stand up to years of use. They are comfortable for walking. Warm, but not SUPER overly warm. Good to wear to my office with jeans, or out after work for Happy Hour in Indiana in January. I love the color. That was a hard decision to mat though.

These looked super cute in the photos and i saw some bad reviews and decided to see for myself. They fit fine, and im in between 8.5/9 (i got the 9)... but as other reviews said, the cording does NOT connect. Like at all. Each section of the shoe is separate pieces of cording. Its the weirdest system ive ever seen lol the only way to tighten them is the back heal (which is NOT connected to the rest of the shoe as it appears) so that leaves the top of the shoe baggy and loose and awkward, they looked like moon shoes haha. Super disappointed 😞 they were comfortable though!

I bought a pair of these boots three weeks ago and I loved the fit but they cannot be tightened by the lace or cord because of a factory defect. The cord will not slip through the loop that tightened it, Either it has been sewn or glued shut. I ordered a second pair when those were returned. Same thing! I looked at the reviews and all the four and five reviews received the boot as it should be. The ones and twos had the same problem I had. Today I received and sent the second pair back. I don’t think I will ever buy another pair of Merrill shoes or boots on line. I used to really like this brand. But there seems to be no quality control any more.
I am prone to slipping on ice. I used to wear my normal boots with YakTrax but those broke like 2 months into using them. I finally decided to just invest in some boots that could take me where I needed to go without slipping and falling in the snow and ice. Thank GOD for Merrell! I have several of their products and they NEVER disappoint me. I walk to work, which is about one mile from my house, and I have to trek through the snow and ice to get there. I've had these boots for about a month now and I haven't slipped ONCE. They are perfect. Really, everything Merrell creates is perfect. Thank you, thank you, thank you for creating reliable and functional footwear. Honestly, recommend. Thank you, thank you, thank you for creating reliable and functional footwear. Honestly, recommend. The only negative things I'd say about this pair of boots is: they have no warmth, so I have to wear thicker socks on colder days (but I'd rather that. With all the walking, my foot would sweat immensely) and I don't think I could wear them for much longer than the mile cause I can feel them getting a little uncomfortable towards the end of my walk. BUT I haven't worn them for consecutively longer periods of time, so I can't speak to that definitively.
Exactly what I was looking for - a lightweight, warm boot that feels like a running shoe - used for every day activities, walks and in and out of the car. However, only 3 stars for the fact that, bizarrely, Merrell choose to stitch down the bungee laces in many spots, so that the laces are for show only and cannot be tightened (except for a small area behind the ankle). My foot is wide-ish so I have no issues with them being loose across the front of my foot, but I would like to tighten the laces across the top and sides of my ankle, and I cannot. Very poor design decision for otherwise such a great boot. Still deciding if I will keep or return.
Wow. Wish I had read the reviews.I needed a pair of flexible snow shoes for walking in the city. The soles are good, but what happened Merrell? It seems like your designers have forgotten that women need shoes that are actually functional.Like I said, I needed shoes, so I won't be returning them. I am going to alter them so that they usable and meet my needs. I'll post my hack when I succeed. But again, seriously...It should at least say "unadjustable" somewhere in the ad. I used to trust your products. No longer.
Loved the idea, didn't like the boot. Given the design, I thought it would be easy to get these on, but that was not the case. Once inside the shoe, my heel slips a bit while the forefoot feels like it's locked in a half death grip. The length was fine, the width was not. Regarding the lacing, most of the lace is non-stretchy and is sewn down. The bungee part starts at the lower heel and it's easy to loosen and tighten it. I wear Merrell's barefoot shoes because of the wider toe box and wish these were built similarly.
These shoes live up the Merrell name. Durable materials. Easy to slip on/off. Waterproof & Warm. My rating comes from their treads. The very first snowfall I wore them and I was slipping and sliding all over the place, so 1 star was deducted from that. I took away another star as their overall style wasn't what I was hoping for. They had a sort of, puffy moon boot appearance? And I wasn't hoping for something that bulky. Maybe that's where their waterproof/thermal level comes from, but it just wasn't the shoe for me.
I was very excited about a quick, convenient hiking shoe. There looked to be support around the ankle fine enough and could be sinched up to be tight fitting or loose.I was vwry wrong. I have no idea why they designed it so that the front elastic is sewed DOWN. You can not adjust it at all so the top of your foot is just sliding all around. You can only adjust the back, and barely. Not enough to secure your foot. I don't know why they'd do one without the other. Also, the arch support is way too far back on the food and it just looks so bulky.I tried to talk to customer service about my issues (including having to pay extra $10 in shipping because I live in Alaska as well as them not letting me cancel my order) and they were less than helpful.
