I had high hopes for these as they were just what I was looking for. However, there is a major flaw in the fact that the bungees are stitched down in two locations making it impossible to adjust them. You are left with an ill fitting shoe with loose bungees that can catch on anything not to mention that it looks terrible. The right shoe on the pair I received had an excessive amount of bungee that was threaded through a loop backwards which made it even worse. I am very disappointed in the quality control of your product and also the fact that you’re still trying to sell this defective style. These are going back at no cost to me.

Despite reading reviews of issues with this style, I decided to take my chances and see if this shoe worked for me. I love the style but the design flaw of the laces being sewn down renders this shoe useless. What’s the point of laces if you can’t adjust them? Secondly, these are VERY narrow. It’s really too bad because they’re a nice style, great fabric and I love that they’re lined. You really do have to have super narrow feet for these to work for you. Not sure why Merrell is making their shoes so much more narrow these days. It would be great if they offered wide (which would really just be regular by their standard) on all styles. Super bummed that I had to return these.

Bought these to run my dogs in our fields early morning. The grass is always wet from either dew or rain. I’ve tried a lot of brands but this is first one that actually keeps my feet dry and provides the arch support I need. Love the easy slip on and they look great with leggings. I can wear them with or without socks depending on the time of the year. I’ve worn other styles of Merrill for years with my boot jeans at the horse shows due to all the walking between classes. Never been disappointed.
Got these for Black Friday and was apprehensive based on reviews. These are excellent. Comfortable, warm, easy to get on and off. Not as adjustable as they appear, the laces are simply styling details - which are necessary. I don’t need to adjust my leather Chelsea boots and I don’t need to adjust these. I love these and wear them probably too often. Warm, waterproof, easy on and off, comfortable.
I bought a pair of these boots three weeks ago and I loved the fit but they cannot be tightened by the lace or cord because of a factory defect. The cord will not slip through the loop that tightened it, Either it has been sewn or glued shut. I ordered a second pair when those were returned. Same thing! I looked at the reviews and all the four and five reviews received the boot as it should be. The ones and twos had the same problem I had. Today I received and sent the second pair back. I don’t think I will ever buy another pair of Merrill shoes or boots on line. I used to really like this brand. But there seems to be no quality control any more.

I finally decided to just invest in some boots that could take me where I needed to go without slipping and falling in the snow and ice. Thank GOD for Merrell! For dog walking, trails, mud season..easy to put/take off, they are cool looking, insulated, all purpose bootie. Socks optional with soft lining. Runs small and narrow so order .5 size up. I am 6.5 and they were at too tight. I am pleasantly pleased that size 7 fits great,very comfortable with excellent arch support. (The bungee compliant turned out to be no issue- I actually like the slouchy look).

I have no idea why they designed it so that the front elastic is sewed DOWN. You can not adjust it at all so the top of your foot is just sliding all around. You can only adjust the back, and barely. Not enough to secure your foot. I don't know why they'd do one without the other.
