Great light hiking shoe

These are great for what they are, which are light hiking shoes not boots. I wore them on a 4 mile trail with mud, loose rock scrambles, and some stream crossings and they were waterproof and had a good amount of tread & grip. No pressure points or slippage. I have very high arches and these were supportive and comfortable. I’d recommend going up a 1/2 size as others advised; I’m a 6.5 in most sneakers but went with 7s here. They’re still too tight for thick hiking socks but perfect with regular crew socks. As others mentioned, the laces don’t really tighten but I have a narrow foot and it still wasn’t an issue.

Highly recommend

Love these shoes! Bought them for a trip to Scotland. We did a ton of hiking & many were very wet & muddy. They kept my feet dry and comfortable. Since then have gone on many other hikes & still going strong. I even were them to bop around when it’s raining. They are very supportive & handle well on all kinds of terrain. They do get a bit toasty when it’s warm though, which is understandable considering they are waterproof. Great hiking shoe, highly recommend.

Mixed comfort

I’m fond of Merrels and have two pairs of Brevada2 s. One (teal and purple) has a longer tongue than the other, which is 2 tone grey and may not be waterproof. The longer tongued pair is rugged and comfortable though they were very stiff at first. I liked the older, true tongued style and am not fond of the newer abbreviated style. The grey pair I have to trash, having worn them enough to make them unreturnable. Seem to be OK on a level path but rub uncomfortably on trails.

Narrower toebox
15 February 2023

Pretty stylish for waterproof trail runners. I was looking forward to wearing these on the trail and around town while on vacation. Unfortunately, I found the toe box was narrow. I could anticipate rubbing on my pinky toes developing into blisters, which is a deal breaker. Had to return. I don't really have wide feet, as I've never had to buy a wide foot shoe. I've worn the Merrell Moab hiking shoe and Merrell Antora trail runners, both with no toes issues. This one seems to run a bit narrow.

Not like the older models
24 February 2023

I have been buying the waterproof Bravada for the past 5 years. They became unavailable for 1 1/2 years during the pandemic and I was happy to see them back on the site. But having received the new pair, I have noticed a difference in design. There is no longer a waterproof toe cap and there are lumps under the tongue where it is attached to the rest of the shoe. The older shoes were smooth. The lump has caused blisters on long hikes. Other than that they have remained waterproof for trail hiking this winter during the rains. They fit true to size.

Not what I expected
22 January 2023

I bought these Bravada 2 Waterproof shoes since I thought they would be the same fit/style as the regular Bravada 2 but they AREN'T! I bought the regular Bravada 2 about 3 weeks ago and I love the sock fit. Well, this Waterproof version came today but it has a regular tongue not sock fit and the fit isn't nearly as good, feel sloppy and loose. I'm extremely disappointed and now I need to pay to send them back. I don't understand why there isn't an explanation anywhere that the style on this Waterproof version isn't the same as the original Bravada 2.

The comfiest trainers…ever
10 May 2023

Was looking for a pair of trail trainers for walking..saw these and thought they looked super comfy. I researched the sizing as they’re USA sizes with corresponding UK/European sizes. I’m a size 7 UK and bought a different pair of Merrels which, although said 7, were actually just too small. Ordered these in the wide size 41..absolutely perfect and, indeed..the comfiest trainers I’ve ever owned..waterproof and perfect for days when boots are too hot to wear.I saw these advertised elsewhere at over £80 so a bargain at £60 from Sports Direct

I have a love-like relationship with these shoes. Like most Merrels they don’t stay tied, but I did learn double tying trick that works fairly well. I would love a little high on the ankle - more like a low top boot because I always seemed to get small gravels and other debris in the shoe. However I wore them 10 days straight all around Scotland and they served me well. My feet stayed dry and they provided a lot of support for the various surfaces I travelled - light hiking , cobblestone streets and other rocky and uneven places.

Waterproof

These shoes truley are waterproof. I work in a greenhouse and water thousands of plants every week. I tested out my Merrells to see just how water proof they were and oh my goodness. The outside obviously gets wet but the inside didnt. The only thing i felt was a bit chilly when I had to walk from the greenhouse into the store (the temp outside was in the low 50s). When i got home a few hours later my sock were still dry, no water had seeped through. These are amazing for that reason as well as how comfortable they are for being on my feet for hours and hours.

exactly what I was hoped it would be
28 March 2023

Purchased these waterproof hiking boots specifically for a recent trip to England. Wore them comfortably throughout rainy London while sightseeing but they really performed well during our hike through the Cotswolds. We hiked for about 6 hours through grassy fields, rain puddles and mud paths and these boots kept my feet completely dry even when they were 1/2 submerged in water. I rinsed them once we got back to the hotel and the cleaned easily and well. I developed plantar fasciitis in my left foot and now wear orthotics. My expensive inserts were kept dry. I’m a solid 7.5 in shoes but always size up to 8 on sneakers. I had to go up to 8.5 to accommodate the inserts.
