Merrell Men's Moab Adventure Lace Waterproof - Dark Earth - 9

(125 reviews)

The Moab Adventure shoe has been made to last. Oiled heavy gauge dark brown leather, with padded matching brown textile around the heel and ankle, ensure a comfortable but durable upper. The hiker style shoe has 'M Select Dry' technology, this water resistance is designed in such a way that it keeps precipitation out, but releases perspiration from within the boot. Breathability around the forefoot is enhanced by channels and holes being moulded into the removable insole. The movement and pressure of the foot whilst walking, pumps air around the toes to create a cooling effect. The base is an incredibly rugged Vibram sole unit, which is made of multiple rubber compounds for the most reassuring traction underfoot. The Moab adventure lace-up is a superb allrounder at a very reasonable price.

I’ve been looking far and wide for a shoe that I could get away with wearing to work but that had more hiking shoe like qualities and a waterproof, rugged design. These shoes
almost exactly fit the bill. They’re comfortable, look great, and seem like they will hold up long term. The lack of gusseted tongue on a “waterproof” shoe keeps them from
being perfect and is an extremely confusing design choice. They’re really only waterproof up to the tongue as is. Still the closest thing I’ve found to my work/hiking shoe
hybrid dream though.

I have been wearing these for work for years. I have had 3 pairs laying around that have lasted for years. In fact I still wear the old ones around the house for yard work. It
looks like they changed how they are made and the newest pair I bought are falling apart after a few months of wear at work. Both are coming apart at the seams in the front.
My 3 old pairs never tore at any seams. They were dirty, scuffed, and had the soles worn out but never came apart at the seams like these.

Just purchased these boots to walk my dog in the snow and slop of Iowa winters. I liked the look of the all leather shoe and they are very comfortable right out of the box.
Have put about 15 miles on them over the last week in cold dry conditions. I then walked a mile through 3 inches of fresh snow and when I returned home my socks and feet
were wet in the toe box but no were else. Very comfortable as a casual shoe but not waterproof as advertised. It appears from reading other reviews this is a common
occurrence with Merrell Moab.Went and bought a pair of Danner TFX Mid Waterproof Hikers. They are higher on the ankle which I didn’t want, but when walked t... Show more

Great price and fast shipping!

I bought these shoes because of the great price that was advertised. Merrell's are really good hiking shoes and these are no exception. These tend to be more on the stylish side so they look great as casual wear. Received them in less than a week so I consider that as fast shipping to my area.... Show more

Not water proof
13 March 2023
I bought this shoe 2 weeks ago and first time I walked in them when it was raining, my feet were soaked. Was only in the rain for 30 minutes. I called up store where I bought them and they will replace them. I bought them for the waterproof feature. I love the shoes, so hope the next pair are waterproof. Hope other folks are having better luck than I had.... Show more

Perfect Fit & Looks Great
18 April 2018
I have purchased many waterproof Merrill Hiking Shoes over the years. Usually I keep one pair for outdoor/sporting activities and another pair for getting muddy doing yard work. I needed a new pair because my yard work pair had finally started falling apart. I was a little hesitant to buy this pair because I normally buy the multi-color versions. I had never had a pair like this one that is a solid color. Since I ordered these off DSW’s website, I was afraid that they wouldn’t look good. But they arrived, and I couldn’t be happier with the look and fit. The entire upper is made of leather. I’d definitely buy this model again. Merrill makes great hiking/outdoor shoes, and I anticipate that this pair will not disappoint.... Show more

Really good shoe
5 December 2018
I needed a rugged shoe that would be very brown, and this shoe is so brown. I also needed it to be rugged enough to handle when a dirt hill or sandy path leap out of nowhere while I'm walking around somewhere, and this shoe really helps me there. I have not always been a fan of Merrell shoes. The last pair I had were not very comfortable, and many people reviewed it that way, but this pair reflects that Merrell did some sole-searching. (ahem). Anyway, it has just enough flex to it, while still being solid. Sizing is pretty exact in my opinion. The leather is nice and classy enough for me to wear at work without people thinking I'm just wearing sneakers, but little do they know that I could run off into the forest at any moment. So that's it, thank you for reading.... Show more

Still good
26 September 2023
The Merrell I purchased a few years ago was the most comfortable walking shoe ever. The Moab was the most similar I could find available this time and is more of a hiking shoe I think rather than walking. There is a clump... clump... when walking on smooth surfaces. Still I think the quality is there and hopefully it will break in.... Show more

Tough But Comfortable
17 June 2021
I've been wearing nothing but Merrells for several years, one model or another, and so far have never managed to totally wear out a pair. These were to replace a previous pair of the same description .. those having been relegated to Gardening duty for purely aesthetic reasons, but still very useable. I always buy a half size above my normal UK size .. if you're intending to use very thick socks, or haver wide feet, a full size above normal would probably be a good idea. I'm not a fan of garish colours, needless panels of different materials (with the attendant leak problems that they cause), or any such .. so these suit me fine for all purposes, in city streets or Highland mountains.... Waterproof after Treatment
8 November 2022
Good fitting shoe, quite roomy - I was able to swap-out the original insole with an arch-support insole that's extra thick and springy. I was tripped-up by the label waterproof, that clearly only refers to the Gore-Tex membrane within the layering of the shoe. The outer leather is not impregnated and will soak up water like a sponge. It will not go through the membrane but will eventually damage your shoe. Suggest spraying it with a water repellent before use.... Show more
