A winner out of the box!

I love it when I take a pair of shoes I’m supposed to love right out of the box and lace them up and they feel perfect on my feet! It hasn’t happed very often, but these puppies fit the bill. I didn’t go bombing down a Jeep run afterwards, but I did take the dog for a walk and they are comfortable as advertised. The uppers are tougher than a normal running shoe, so I expect them to hold up better - and they do have a nice combination of springyness and supportive cushioning. They will also be my daytime Vegas shoes. My feet always kill me after an afternoon on my feet and I think these shoes will be the antidote.

Better than I expected. I’m a long time Merrell wearer. My last pair was the Ontario 85 which Merrell doesn’t seem to make anymore (I wish companies wouldn’t discontinue good things). I wore those down to slicks by hiking through the Grand Canyon, Custer SD, Yellowstone, and Grand Tetons last year so it was time for another pair. I took a chance on the MOAB Flight given the good reviews and because I figured Merrell wouldn’t put the MOAB name on something that wasn’t worthy. I like these even better than the Ontario and past pairs of MOAB that I’ve had. I wore the Flights while hiking Death Valley, Valley of Fire, and Red Rock in Nevada. They were comfortable the whole time and have held up beyond my expectations. I love the gold color (so don’t discontinue these ... MoreBetter than I expected. I’m a long time Merrell wearer. The shoes are great! They’re light weight, comfortable to walk in, super breathable. I took them to Top of the work in Laguna, CA. It’s a sandy/rocky trail. I will say they didn’t seem to have the best grip for that type of trail I used a pair of Walmart shoes my first time hiking it that seemed to have a more appropriate rubber sole for that particular area. Over all I’m happy with them and wouldn’t knock off points off after only taking them to that trail once so far. I’m excited to see how they preform in other areas in the future.

Great hiking, walking, and everyday shoe!
21 December 2022

Bought these before a trip to Grand Teton and Yellowstone. I'm not a hiker, but wanted something with great sole, traction, and arch support. I didn't want a bulky shoe that would cause me to trip or drag my feet due to their weight or bulk. These were PERFECT! The light weight fabric makes them comfortable when it is warm out. Arch support and cushion are great. Sole is grippy and flexible to not be a burden, but made inclines of trails a breeze. And they look great with jeans or shorts for after trail time so don't need multiple pairs of shoes during the day. My family and friends were amazed at how I was able to manage easy and moderate trails compared to other trips. They dubbed them my "magic shoes".

Great shoes BUUUUUUT….
1 April 2023

I really loves these shoes!! I’m talking easily my most comfortable shoe. People are missing out. The fit is great, they breathe fantastic and the cushioning is amazing. I should add that I’m 230lbs.My only issue is that twice now I have had the bottom layer of the shoe (traction area) peel away from the other cushioned part of the shoe at the heel. The first pair peeled away after a stroll around the neighborhood while the other was about after 5 good days of walking around in them. I tried to have them repaired but that didn’t last long at all.I will say that the first pair were replaced Arno charge as I knew they would. Great products usually come with great service. These did just that. Anyhow my other pair were great, beat up but great shoes and YES, I will ... MoreI really loves these shoes!! I’m talking easily my most comfortable shoe. People are missing out. Great support hiking shoe
26 May 2024

My go to shoes are the Asics Gel Kayano 30, the Brooks Glycerin GTS 21, and the Nike Air Structure. I have plantar fasciitis, back disc issues, and recently sprained my knee. Needless to say, I'm very picky about the fit and feel. Every hiking shoe and boot I tried on felt so hard on the bottom of my foot, or had little to no support. These feel like putting a supportive and comfortable glove on. And from a reputable company.

Great walking shoes!
13 February 2023

First picked up a pair of Moab Flights in the Herb color from REI to try out the fit. They were comfortable right out of the box. No break-in required. So, I bought a second pair in the same color. Then saw more colors available on Merrell’s website. Bought a few more in different colors. Bought two pair for my partner who likes hers as well. They’re great walking shoes, at least on our feet. The small lip on the heal provides a comfortable heal-to-toe roll for walking. Not too spongy and not too hard. Though, for those people looking for arch support, they’re a bit weak/low in that area.

Love these shoes
31 March 2024

Great shoes. They are tough, lightweight and well constructed. I thought I bought a waterproof pair, but found out they’re not. These are also among he most comfortable running shoes I’ve worn in a long time. The heel strike is soft and rolls forward nicely. The Vibram soles areadhere well to surfaces without being sticky.Merrell hit a home run with these IMO. I’ll be buying these again.

Not for rough trail running
5 July 2023

I bought these shoes because of the production description, that they were suitable for rough trails. Not even remotely. I can feel almost every root and rock that I run over, and I nearly took a couple bad falls when crossing rocks that were still damp from the previous night's rainfall. Like ice skates. Very dangerous and not a suitable shoe. Nice looking and comfortable for walking around the house or grocery store. That's about it. Will return.

fantastic backpacking and approach shoe

These work for both women and men. I am a woman who wanted to size up for those long days on the trail when your feet swell. I also wanted a larger toe box to help my natural stride and prevent toe squishing. Most women's shoes I've found tend to compact your toes into an unnatural position. These didn't. There was no breaking in period, they were comfortable straight from the box. I bought a size 8 men's, about half a size larger than most my shoes. They still felt great and easy to walk in with fantastic traction. I've done about 100 miles in them in scrambling, sand, and paved road hikes. They were more padded than I anticipated. They also started to fray a bit on the inner portion of fabric around the ankle, but I assume that's from my own poor walking patterns. ... MoreThese work for both women and men. I live in southern Arizona and hike on rough rocks most of the time, all of the seams are intact and seem durable. Structurally they are solid, I'll be using these for a long while. I'd recommend them to women or men looking for a trail running or light weight approach shoe.
