I recently realized I had a hammer toe. I've always had wide feet & apparently as I age my feet squash & get longer! (hah) I have tried quite a few top brands for WIDE feet. I am utterly thrilled to say these are actually WIDE. (I've found I'm buying men's wide - my feet are that wide....) These are not ugly the way so many extra-wide shoes are. I don't feel like I should be looking for my walker. These are comfortable & accommodate my fat feet! (okay, I'm not fat but I'm rather disappointed in the "fatness" of my feet! I like how far apart the lace holes are, too. They allow for lower or higher arches. Very impressed with this shoe!

I bought these for hiking and for gym use. They are very supportive. That matters a lot as I am a power lifter and a frequent hiker. I instantly felt the support beneath my feet and there was no break in period for these shoes. As far as the style, I like the speckles on the outside of the shoe bed. I bought the black and white version and the speckles on the white bed serve as camouflage for the dirt that I normally carry around. on the bottom side of the shoe. (Is it dirt or is it speckles?)I have not tested the waterproof feature yet as we are burning up in Texas and there are few puddles of wet anything here but I have had enough Merrill shoes that I know they will work in wet conditions when they are so labeled. Retro style, especially in black and white.

I bought these on sale since I needed a new shoe for walking and training my dogs. When they came I was surprised they came in the sock style rather than tongue and almost returned them. I wore them around the house trying to decide whether to keep or return and found they weren't as difficult to slip on as I thought they would be and are so comfortable. Now I love this shoe and want to get another pair, maybe in the waterproof style since grass tends to be wet in the mornings. My only criticism is that they do tend to pill and I'm also surprised that Merrell used this kind of fabric on a "hiking" shoe because every hitch hiker plant absolutely sticks to this material. :(

I bought these because I was going to Zion National Park to go hiking. We were there in March and the trails were wet, slippery, and very muddy. These shoes were amazing, while everyone else’s shoes were being sucked off their feet due to the mud, these stayed on. My feet did not get wet. I felt they were stable while walking on the trails. After our muddy hike, I threw them in the washer and they were as good as new. They are also extremely comfortable, I even wore them while putting on miles walking in Las Vegas. I’m looking forward to using them this summer on more adventures.
These are great for what they are, which are light hiking shoes not boots. I wore them on a 4 mile trail with mud, loose rock scrambles, and some stream crossings and they were waterproof and had a good amount of tread & grip. No pressure points or slippage. I have very high arches and these were supportive and comfortable. I’d recommend going up a 1/2 size as others advised; I’m a 6.5 in most sneakers but went with 7s here. They’re still too tight for thick hiking socks but perfect with regular crew socks. As others mentioned, the laces don’t really tighten but I have a narrow foot and it still wasn’t an issue.
I went back and forth on giving 3 or 4 stars and ended up going with 3 because of the amount of money I paid for one of the shoes to end up not being waterproof. So, I've got one dry foot and one damp when I wear them (although it isn't soaking wet, which already makes even a defective pair of Merrells better than some other brands I've tried). I decided to keep the shoes anyway as they function just fine for workdays without rain when the grass is only lightly wet due to sprinklers/dew and there's not a lot of standing water. If you're looking for really good lightweight, comfy, and waterproof footwear, I also bought their Speed Solo Mid Waterproof boot, and it's beyond awesome. I'm only a few weeks into using them, but they've been exactly what I need and my feet ... MoreI went back and forth on giving 3 or 4 stars and ended up going with 3 because of the amount of money I paid for one of the shoes to end up not being waterproof. I have been buying the waterproof Bravada for the past 5 years. They became unavailable for 1 1/2 years during the pandemic and I was happy to see them back on the site. But having received the new pair, I have noticed a difference in design. There is no longer a waterproof toe cap and there are lumps under the tongue where it is attached to the rest of the shoe. The older shoes were smooth. The lump has caused blisters on long hikes. Other than that they have remained waterproof for trail hiking this winter during the rains. They fit true to size.
Great purchase! I've worn Merrell hiking shoes for over 20 years, but this was my first time buying a running shoe from Merrell. These did not disappoint. Perfect fit, comfortable from the moment I first put them on and fit true to my regular size. I especially appreciate the sturdy toe box and grippy tread. I've been wearing these daily for just over a month on streets, hiking and even with a bit of snow and ice on the ground and they've performed very well in all conditions.I would absolutely purchase these shoes again.
My last pair of Merrell's were a hiking shoe...it has been years since then because I turned to another brand for a few years. We were planning this trip and I wanted to be sure I had a comfortable shoe with a proper fit. What I liked about the Bravado 2 is I could get them in "wide" which was hard to find in the other brand I was using. Often times I felt my shoes were just too snug. I am in-between an 8.5 and 9, depending on the brand. I decided to order both the 8.5 and 9 in wide, planning to return the one that did not fit as well. I ended up keeping the 9 wide and they are soooo comfortable. During the 15 days in Egypt and Jordan there were times my shoes did not come off my feet for over 12 hours at a time. I ended up keeping the 9 wide and they are soooo comfortable. During the 15 days in Egypt and Jordan there were times my shoes did not come off my feet for over 12 hours at a time. I must admit, that in Egypt, I was noting a strong foot odor after removing my shoes. It was very embarrassing, especially in the Cairo airport where they require the removal of shoes at security. Surprisingly, once we got to Jordan the odor went away. Could it have been the higher temperatures in Egypt that caused my feet to perspire? I don't know, but the odor was only temporary. We walked trails, miles of sandy, rocky surfaces, climbed sand dunes and the shoes gave me comfortable support. When we returned I washed them in the washing machine to get all the dirt out before using them here in the US. I air dried them and they look like new again. 9W is my size and Merrell has won me back!
Purchased these waterproof hiking boots specifically for a recent trip to England. Wore them comfortably throughout rainy London while sightseeing but they really performed well during our hike through the Cotswolds. We hiked for about 6 hours through grassy fields, rain puddles and mud paths and these boots kept my feet completely dry even when they were 1/2 submerged in water. I rinsed them once we got back to the hotel and the cleaned easily and well. I developed plantar fasciitis in my left foot and now wear orthotics. My expensive inserts were kept dry. I’m a solid 7.5 in shoes but always size up to 8 on sneakers. I had to go up to 8.5 to accommodate the inserts.
