I got some low-top Moabs in 2016. They lasted 6 years and were waterproof for 5 of them. I got these hi-top tactical Moabs in October 2022. They fit great with my wide feet and bunions. But my socks are getting soaked through already in April 2023. I walk a dog 3x a day in the eternal rain of NW Oregon. I'm disabled and poor. I bought a $160 pair of boots because I assumed they would last another 5 years like the last ones did. It's not even raining right now but the grass is uncut and damp, and just walking thru that is enough for my socks to be completely soaked within 10 minutes.Extremely disappointed. Didn't even last a year. They would probably last a couple more years at least, but they're useless here if they're not waterproof. I can't afford to buy $160 ... MoreI got some low-top Moabs in 2016. They lasted 6 years and were waterproof for 5 of them. I got these hi-top tactical Moabs in October 2022. These should have lasted another 5 years like the last pair of Moabs I had. Another example of companies going cheap, reducing their costs and product quality while increasing prices. The 2016 Moabs were waterproof for 5 years with the same daily walks in the rain, off the trails. These were waterproof for 6 months! And the zippers are junk. When I first got them I unzipped one of the zippers and it got stuck. Almost couldn't get it back up. Eventually did get it back up and decided to never touch them again. But they slowly work their way down on their own. Luckily I've been able to get them back up.I just really can't believe they're not waterproof at all anymore after only 6 months! $160! For 6 months!I sent an email a few days ago asking for a replacement or a 90% discount on a new pair of a different model that is known to be more reliably waterproof. Of course I haven't gotten a response.I'm tired of getting robbed! Everything is cheap junk these days, even when it cost a lot of money.

I am on my 3rd pair of Moab 2 boots. They are extremely comfortable with no break in period. They keep my feet mostly dry, but every pair I've owned has not been completely waterproof when compared to Gore-tex branded protection which is my biggest complaint. They hold up well while working 12 hour shifts. They offer good value for the price compared to many other brands which is why I continue to buy them. I currently wear both the 8" and mid height models.

I've owned the MOAB 2 6"boots for a couple of years and have worn them daily for work. I prefer these to regular "duty" boots as they're a bit lighter and far more comfortable. Durability has been excellent so far, as is comfort. I've also had zero issues with wet feet, even wearing these through heavy rain and deep snow. The waterproofing is top notch.Sizing can be a bit tricky. These tend to run a little big, so I'd recommend going a half size under what you normally wear, if not a full size. As far as prices to performance, I highly recommend. These have outlasted pairs of Rocky, Thorogood and Bates boots I've owned in the past while also being far more comfortable.Highly recommend, again keep sizing in mind. Exchanges are never fun, but with that in mind it ... MoreI've owned the MOAB 2 6"boots for a couple of years and have worn them daily for work. Merrell is one shoe that never disappoints, I been wearing them since they first came on the scene. This specific pair fit like a glove as expected. One thing I wished I had got was them in wide. The support at the ankle is supurb, they dont hurt...ever! I can stand for hours with ease, walking, no problem, beach sand, no problem, rocky terraine, whatever I throw at them, I know I have support, function and comfort. LAPG shipped these same day! Great product, great service, and my feet are happy, just a great quality all around, very happy and strongly recommend.
Purchased approximately 3/4 months ago and I have been wearing them constantly. Putting them through the works. Rigorous use and terrain. Initially I purchased them for work and immediately I noticed they were considerably lighter, durable and warmer than my previous boots (great for winter).I’ve tested them on long days (12-18+hrs) of hikes, whether they be on concrete, trails or snow. They perform exceptionally and are more certainly waterproof.Love the size zip feature and they are true to size. Fair price for the quality. My only qualms with the boots are that the insoles are fairly firm/rigid so as you can imagine after long days on foot my feet can get fairly sore. They are warm (sure great for winter) but the “impermeable” feature does not breathe as ... MorePurchased approximately 3/4 months ago and I have been wearing them constantly. Not a big deal in most cases but considering I initially got these for a Professional purpose it has proven to be a bit of a nuisance.Though Ultimately I’m glad with these.I bet they’d be killer/that much better if Merrell introduced they’re comfier insoles into these.
At the sale price these were a no brainer. They look good, fit well, and are very comfortable right out of the box. Color is good. Weight is fine. Good ankle support. Quality seems to be there but time will tell. The one drawback is the side zip. Normally in a sidezip boot, I can lace the boot up and then utilize the side zip to take the boots on and off w/o unlacing. This boot will not do that. The zipper only serves to help with the extraction of your foot after untying the laces as well. Other than that a very nice 8" boot.
So far this par of these Merrell's has been Breaking In nicely. I had a pair of these in size 11 and they would not break in at all. The 11W Pair got this time are,. and are fast becoming my favorite bootsThe "Side Zip" feature works really great and is a 10 second on and off after you get the lacing sussed out. Not having to spend 5 minutes lacing up my boots while "Folding the Football" in half is a welcome addition and means I will use these boots more often.I got the wider size to accommodate two pairs of inner soles which greatly increases the squishiness of the foot bed and enhances comfort.I have been doing this with with all my Merrell Low Top Shoes for the last 10 years. Bought these boots roughly 6 months ago and noticed the fabric in the front of both boots starting to fray from one month in. They are very comfortable to wear. They require a bit of struggle to put on and off as the zipper was not well thought through. These boots will not last which is disappointing as they are on the higher end of tactical boots price point. I have bought cheaper that lasted longer. Not what I expected from a well known brand. Used as a daily as well as combat for last two months. Do not recommend
First off these boots are comfortable enough to wear 5 plus days a weeks and 8 plus hours a day. They have great support and solid cushion. I have also worn them in heavy rain and flowing water and they held up as advertised. No soggy socks. My only problem with these boots is that the sidezip function is wide enough to use with out great force so it might as well not be there. This is the only reason I did not give them 5 stars.
I have construction boots that zip up the sides. I lace them up tight the never touch the laces again. A beautiful system. These shoes appeared to be that same set up but they have a liner across the zipper space that only allows about an inch of opening. That equates to not being able to put them on using only the zipper. Additionally , the eyes on the high top portion are eyes, not hooks, so its a lot of work to lace and un-lace the shoe just to put them on. Once on, the shoes are great - comfortable and supportive.
