Merrell Moab Adventure 3 Mens, 12 / Earth

These were the first pair of boots I bought, many years ago. They were so good that eventhough I don't have them anymore I want to make a review.I put these pair through a lot, I first used them in my hometown at work, then to Peru to the top of Machu Picchu mountain and then around Europe in a 10 month backpacking trip. Mind you, I did not spend all my time in cities, I used them quite a lot in the Polish Tatras and a month I spent in rural Romania, plus other smaller hikes here and there in the Balkan mountains or through forests around Berlin.The boots were always comfortable and waterproof. However even though the boots looked quite worn they were still somehow waterproof (for a little rain in the city).I can wholeheartedly recommend these pair, they absolutely rocked!

Owned another pair of Merrells prior to purchasing these. I owned my other pair for about 4 years and put them through hell. My feet grew but the boots were still in fantastic knick and went to a family member for more use. The Moab Adventures were comfortable from the first use. I started wearing them everywhere to “break them in” as I’ve done with other boots but realised that I didn’t really need to. Took them on a high country hunt and they handled it all. Creek crossings, icy paddocks and rough high country bush bashing. I recommend them to anyone that will listen

Wear these to work most days with public transit commute and a mile or more conducting rounds around the building. Like all Merrells I’ve had, they’re very comfortable. But Merrell quality is not what it used to be. I’ve only had these a few months and the heel lining is already shredded and is shredding my socks and the rubber is separating at the toe. Other Merrells I had and used much more harshly lasted well over a year before getting to this state. My most recent Merrell hiking boots are also showing similar quality decline. The last non-Merrell work shoes I had lasted over two years in the same conditions.
