Technology, shoe technology, has improved out of sight in the 30 years since I started trekking. Without question this is the most comfortable and well supported pair boots I have come across and I have had quite a few inc a very expensive pair of Italian Zamberlanes. This pair will be at home in the city as in the Solu Khumbhu to 0C. Get the size right and you will be wearing it everywhere, even in +30C.

Not as cheap as I'd usually prefer to pay...... BUT this is one of those cases where "you get what you pay for". These are the most comfortable boots of this type I've ever worn. Rugged like boots but comfortable like good running shoes. Highly recommended.

These are perfectly shaped to my feet, without too, much space for inner movement, yet more than adequate room for wiggling my toes. They literally cushion my feet & feel great. They're also extremely, well made.

These were comfortable straight out of the box and didn't need breaking in, however I have learned over the years that they tend to be smaller in size so I buy one size bigger.I have only given three stars as they have not yet been worn in heavy rain as the last few pairs of 'waterproof' shoes from JL have gone back as the proved not to be.
I was looking for a ‘casual’ pair of walking shoes. Nothing too chunky or heavy or technical. Just reasonably priced shoes for walking 5-10km on local trails when I didn’t want to wear my full walking boots. These fit the bill perfectly. They are very cushioned and comfortable. They look smart enough for walking round town. They are tall enough to go through some minor mud and puddles but not a full boot height. If you are looking for something to go up real mountains or long distance, there are better choices than this. I did do one longer (15km+) hike and they started to rub on my ankles. For most walks though, these will more than do the job and do it comfortably and stylishly.
I have used these boots on four occasions only. The toe cap on the right boot is already starting to separate. On close inspection when comparing the boots there is obvious machining asymmetry. Also the lace up area is far too wide allowing grass seeds and any loose debris to accumulate. I expected better from Merrell. The fit is acceptable.
This is the third pair of Moabs that my husband has bought. They are perfect for year round everyday use, comfortable, wear well and are excellent value for money. As with previous Moabs, these likely will last a few years and then we will be on the hunt for his fourth pair. The slightly higher boot style (to just above the ankle) gives excellent support.
I picked the MOAB 3 based on research oriented towards my needs. Having tried it out on three long hikes across various terrains-hill, mud, rock and water crossings, I must say I am most satisfied with the grip and waterproofing. The only thing preventing a five star rating is the lace biting into my fore-ankle despite the thick tongue.
Waterproof. Excellent support. Good traction. Great for west coast winter trail mud, slush, mush and water. So far has been through streams and ocean tide with perfectly dry feet.
I've worn Merrell boots for years so I was confident on the fit, and these boots were comfortable from the start, but it's worth saying I go for an 11 in boots when in most shoes I'm a 10.They are slightly lower profile than a full hiking boot which I prefer based on the type of walking I currently do. They look smart, and feel well made. I tried to think of a reason to drop them a star but really couldn't come up with anything I'd change about them.
