Despite fitting me properly I find the shoe doesn’t come far enough up the back of the heel which then causes friction, even when wearing good quality socks. The shoe needs to be tightly laced to prevent that and this causes issues when worn for longer periods

I was after a smaller and lighter version of my hiking boots which I love. Sometimes they are a little bit of overkill if hiking a rail trail. But at the same time didn’t want to hike a huge distance in runners. So these looked to be the perfect solution. Very comfortable straight out of the box. No problems at all. Did a few small walks then broke them in on a 40km hike. Fantastic grip and very comfortable. So glad I purchased these.

I have worn regular Moab GTX hiking shoes for years, and I’ve always liked them, but would occasionally have sore places on my feet. And they were heavy!! These Speed GTX hikers are great: light, grippy, and soooo comfortable. Looking for some for my husband, too.

These are very comfortable and look good. My only suggestion would be to consider going up a size if you like to wear thicker socks. They run a bit tight in those situations but not with lighter socks.
I bought these last week and am happy I did. Was looking for a waterproof trainer, rather than the heavier hiking shoes, for cold and wet winter months, and these fit the bill exactly. They are very light and comfortable. Only issue for me is not the greatest arch support, but the comfort makes up for this.
Had an issue with the first pair of Merrell I got, they where faulty, customer service where very good and reactive and had these out as a replacement in good time. So far they are good all rounders, comfortable, look good and waterproof which makes it so much easier to clean them after a mucky walk 👍 so far 5*
Bought these inn offer and planned to keep them for when my current walking trainers wear out but just love the style so have already tried them out. First time with this brand and they’ve been really easy to wear, no blisters so far.Tempted to get a 2nd pair whilst they are on offer
They are very light and more like a runner than a hiking shoe but so far so good. I've worn them perhaps five times, for light walks and one in the bush and no breaking in has been required. They have great grip. I've subjected them to some damp, long grass and they were dry as a bone afterwards and I'm really pleased with their appearance. My only observation is that the back heel feels quite light as well and I feel I will have to take care to undo the shoelaces wide in order not to weaken the shoes long term. But all in all a good shoe for the price and I'm happy with my purchase.
I wanted a GTX replacement for an old pair of trainer style Merrells which had seen better days. I like the look of these and the fact they are lightweight as well, although I’m not certain how the shoe material will stand up to long and varied use. Unfortunately I read afterwards that people had problems with the shoe being a bit slippy in the heel area with some people. I ordered a size 5, my usual size and I would say they are generous in fit, probably a bit wider than my old shoes and therefore don’t feel as snug. The heel on one of my shoes does slip slightly as has been said, but not enough to cause me discomfort and using them straight out of the box for a day’s light walking I did not experience rubbing or blisters. I think in colder weather when I wear thicker socks this issue won’t be as noticeable. I haven’t worn them on serious hikes as yet so it remains to be seen if they stay comfortable, but so far, so good
My shoe arrived within a couple of days of ordering them.Considering I hadn’t tried this model before it’s relatively comfortable. The fit is pretty good. It’s also pretty light. The sole did however get caught on something and there is a hole in it already. I have used it on a trail. The material is pretty soft.
