After not finding a comfortable fit in any of the "one size fits all" helmets, I settled on the Large Veleno. Unfortunately for me, my head size is 57.5 cm (I wear a size 7 1/4 ball cap); the Medium is listed for 54-57 cm and the large 58-64 cm, putting me in no man's land. The Large ended up fitting better, although with the adjustable fit dial cranked as tight as possible. After some initial worry around sizing I can say that this is the best fitting helmet I have worn. The size adjuster dial is easy to use and makes for a quick fit even on the go, ensuring the helmet doesn't move around or ever feel loose. Also probably the best looking lid currently at MEC!

I used this helmet for a 65k ride and my first impressions is that it feels very comfortable. It's not the lightest but it was light enough to not create any discomfort. The vents work well to keep cool but I will have to see how they do in the summer season. The dial at the back is easy to use and will set up the perfect fit in seconds, I believe the previous version used another mechanism to set the circumference so this is an improvement. Personally I'm not too concerned about the aesthetics but I think it looks ok.
